Specs For Vets is a service run by…

Specs For Vets is a service run by Superior Optical Labs
to supply eyeglasses to Active Military, and US Military Veterans and their families.
I have received five pairs eyeglasses from Superior Optical Labs, three through the VA, and two I purchased through Specs For Vets. I have found Specs For Vets frame prices 20% to 50% lower than other suppliers. The Customer Service people there are friendly, helpful and try to make sure you get the most for your money. Specs For Vets supplies a quality product at a below market price

I checked SpecsForVets because they…claim to be for veterans

I checked SpecsForVets because they advertise “up to 50% off retail” and claim to give veterans special discounts. After doing a direct side-by-side comparison, I can confirm the prices are not cheaper at all. In fact, in several cases they were the same or more expensive than mainstream online eyewear sites like Zenni, EyeBuyDirect, or Warby.

The “free lenses and coatings” they advertise are already included in the inflated frame price. It’s a classic bait: inflate the “retail” baseline, call it a discount, and rely on the patriotic branding to make people feel they’re getting a deal. It’s not a deal — it’s marketing spin.

That makes this not just misleading, but exploitative. They’re using veterans and military families as a sales hook, counting on people to trust the label instead of checking the math. I did the math, and the promise of cheaper eyewear for vets is not real here.

If you’re a veteran looking for affordable glasses, compare across sites before ordering. Don’t assume SpecsForVets is cheaper just because of the name. Quite frankly, I find this disgusting && exploitative.

What an absolutely great company

What an absolutely great company! I don't know how there aren't 1,000 similar reviews here already. Fantastic products, competitive low prices, and outstanding customer service. As far as I can tell, they are doing EVERYTHING well. Will be a customer for life.
