First, the company's premise for helping people find people is Awesome!! That is a word Ellie used when helping me get online with Spareroom. She was pleasant, knowledgeable and displayed great patience with me.

They sent a dangerous homeless drug addict wanted by police who made legal problems for me and my neighbours at my home which is meant to be a safe haven because they have no procedures or regulations
Private capitalising landlords use this site so they don't have to follow standard estate agent regulations or pay extortionist fees to get tenants huddled into overcrowded 3 bedroom houses where they do not live in themselves they do not care a dam except for high individual rent
SpareRoom.co.uk do not follow any regulations like openrent.com but are exactly the same worldwide property service therefore they have been reported to trading standards and the property ombudsman uk for breaking standard rules and procedures of a property website reply to me was we do not have to well we will see about that as an adviser said otherwise
