I will try my best to articulate how great Chris from Sonning made me feel through the process of buying my Rolex watch. Not all overseas purchases are going to go smoothly and many do not. Chris was right there with me every step of the way from our first phone chat to the day my watch was delivered. He is informative and caring of his work and his customers. I was a bit nervous to purchase a Rolex internationally but Chris eased those nerves almost immediately. Besides his immaculate service and help with international shipping, his shop carries wonderful, interesting, and rare/collectible vintage pieces. He is knowledgeable about the industry and timepieces as a whole. What you see on Sonning’s website is what you are going to get, accurate descriptions. A rare thing, a gentleman and an honest dealer, Chris went out of his way to sort a watch for me and then had links altered before delivering the watch to my home at a time to suit me. There was no question of a deposit and I was able to pull out of the deal at any time.

Fantastic experience Chris was very honest as I had over paid by £20 and he refunded straight away. You will have no problems buying a watch & I cannot recommend him enough. Watch was perfect with everything correct including paperwork. Would recommend to anyone and would do business again.

I have now made two purchases for my husband in the past 3 years. A beautiful Patek Philippe and a stunning Tapestry dial Rolex. Both were described as “outstanding examples”. They did not disappoint. The description on the Sonning website was 100% accurate.
The service was also outstanding , from having calls to discuss the watches, meetings with Chris to view and then being able to hold the watch until a decision was made. No deposit necessary.
I cannot recommend highly enough this company; the integrity and fair pricing is absolute and I wouldn’t buy from anyone else. Trust is an apt description of this company.

After talking for a few minutes you are put at ease you can tell here is someone who loves what they do .I have not been collecting for very long and some time's you have put your trust in people. After considering a number of options, I bought a vintage Rolex from Sonning. I was considering something newer but in the end the allure of a handmade piece made on my birth year had me - even Rolex use robots these days. The watch looked in great condition in the photos, but I was overjoyed that the quality surpassed my expectations when the watch arrived. Fantastic service. I am very happy!

I cannot recommend Chris enough. After initially calling him to simply enquire about a vintage watch, I knew that when I wanted to, I would buy one from Chris. He was so insightful and we spoke a few times (as I had endless questions). He made the entire experience so easy, and came to my home with my two favourite watches, whilst I deliberated. I have told all of my friends about Chris, and have no doubt I will be buying another watch in the not too distant future.

I am very impressed with the quality of service at Sonning Vintage Watches and attention to detail by Chris. The website filtering made it possible for me to narrow down the watch I wanted, and the actual purchase process was incredibly smooth and personalized. Chris never rushed me into buying the watch, was extremely knowledgeable, even followed by a phone call to personally congratulate on the purchase. A gesture you don’t find with the big shark retailers online. That was almost as good as a handshake in person and that is how he secured me as a client for life. The watch arrived in perfect condition just as described, with all of the accompanying boxes, documents and valuation certificate. Simply superb experience!!

I bought a 1952 Rolex from Chris at Sonning. At first I thought it was a bit of a bit of a gamble having not seen it in the flesh. However, the watch arrived and it is absolutely stunning. Totally genuine sale, all paperwork supplied and a really nice, friendly, personalised transaction. The customer care was fantastic - well recommended :)

Chris was fantastic at walking me through every part the process of buying my husband's watch. He was prompt at replying, patient at answering all my questions and made me feel confident to buy with him online.
Living in Northern Ireland, and he in England, I was not able to view the watch in person....so had to rely on WhatsApp video imaging and to trust his description as accurate.....which didn't disappoint. The watch is beautiful and my husband is thrilled with it!
