I have a SS 3+ (caution)

9/15/ 2025 The issue is still not fixed. SS has tried to fix it remotely, but the fix hasn't worked yet. The last question they asked and I answered was on 9/4.

7/31/2025 The camera is stuck in "Calibrating" mode. I sent an email to SS Support. I did use it a few times since the last issue in 2024.

The issue below in 2024 was fixed...

7/4-6/2024: I travel to the Wedge (Newport, CA) to get pounded by a southwest swell, but I can't film myself since my camera isn't working and is still with SS.

6/22: SS receives the camera.

6/18: After attempting to remote troubleshoot with the SS rep, and me sending them video of doing what they asked for, I was asked to send the unit back.

6/10: New issue: camera tilts down and just doesn't function. I contacted SS by email and received a response the next day (great service in that respect).

1/22: Received slip that looks like my camera is at the post office.

1/9/2024: On 12/1/23, I sent an email to support because my tag wasn't working, nor charging. I found out, on my own, that I needed to discharge the camera battery so that the camera needed charging. Only then would the tag charge. However, it took 26 days for an email reply to this tag issue. However, the rep asked if I had any other issues and I was able to share an issue that just came up a couple days prior. So, this next issue could be considered a 2-day response. On 12/27, I was notified I had to send my camera in due to issue #2. I sent my camera back on 12/27/23 and am currently waiting for it to return.

For 3 straight weeks I have called & emailed with 0 response. I paid $2,000 for the soloshot SS3+ version. I have had a video camera that does not work for the last few weeks, I am out $2,000, & no one from soloshot calls me back, emails me back, or picks up the phone when I call.

!!!!!!! this is a professional scam buyer be aware !!!!!!
we sent our previous model that was well looked after ,back to upgrade to the new model they responded with photos of camera that was totally damaged and said they will offer us $200 off the next model .
total scam the same thing was happening with other people that is how they get you.
absolute zero contact after that no reply's
no other means to contact anyone.
there site address are a scam as well

Look at the other reviews and BBB. Ordered a camera 2/22/24 filed a chargeback with my bank 6/13 they sent me a broken camera 6/20. Finally got a return label and sent it back 7/21. It’s 10/17 and I still have not been refunded.

Stay away from this “company”

Stay away from this “company”. They are liars and thieves. All the complaints from so many other customers they ripped off are all accurate with my multiple experiences with them too. Two separate products broke down twice… and they do NOT respond to any emails or voicemails asking for assistance. They couldn’t be bothered. I really do believe they are professional scammers. Do not purchase anything from this company… you will regret it if you do.

Total garbage..

Total garbage... Worst electronics purchase I've ever made. So many glitches and rarely works. You'll spend hours trying to trouble shot. Customer service is non-existent.

Someone help this guys running their company.

Excellent idea, bad product and terrible customer service. I am still waiting for a reply or a refund for an armband I never received. The camera barely works anyway. I get footage of the first 10 minutes and the rest it´s just empty files and 3 out of 4 times the camera films 10 yards away of me.

Soloshot Company is a joke!! Stay away

Ordered a camera it wouldn't work for what we needed it for, returned it within a couple weeks. This was 3 months ago and still have not seen a refund. Trying to get in contact with them is a total joke and they do not return calls, emails. $2000 dollar camera, don't have the camera anymore and no refund, have now contacted an attorney and sent over all documentation. What a joke, stay away from this company!!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! As soon as they have your money, they will ignore you.

It's now a year since I paid to have my Soloshot upgraded to the new version. MONTHS after I sent it, I'd heard nothing. Then, one email saying it hadn't been done because they were so busy and would let me know when it was ready. Eventually, SIX MONTHS after I'd paid my money, I received the package, only to find they'd sent me a broken unit. Many emails and phone calls later (no-one EVER answers their phone and they rarely reply to customer support emails if they already have your money) and they finally sent me a replacement. It was faulty!!

When I first bought the Soloshot it took months to get it to work properly. It was so clunky! That's why, when they released the upgrade, I paid the extra $600. It's now a YEAR since I paid for the upgrade and I still don't have a properly functioning unit.

Make sure you read around on this company - there is a Facebook Page run by customers (not Soloshot who is not interested in customers) to help people who are having problems. The stories on there abound. They've stopped selling through Amazon, so you can't leave reviews there. You can't post on their Facebook Page (which hasn't been posted on by them for years), and you can't leave Google reviews for them. They do everything they can to make sure their customers' views are hidden from the public!

Soloshot are essentially thieves - they take your money but don't give you what you paid for. And they are also liars. I was told they couldn't send me a replacement unit because they didn't have any left in stock. The following week I received a marketing email saying they had the units in stock ready to ship! I have since sent SOOO many emails and messages trying to get them to send me a properly functioning unit, and they just never reply.

I am in Australia, so I can't appeal to any kind of consumer protection authority (if there is one) in the US. Next time I go to the US, I plan to turn up on their doorstep and confront them!

The only advice I would give about Soloshot is....save yourself thousands of dollars and mountains of headaches and DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!!

My camera won't record to the memory…

My camera won't record to the memory card. I contacted Soloshot and no one from technical support could help me. They told me to ship it to them but since I live in San Diego I was able to drop it off. I did so in August. They tried to figure out what was going on with it then went radio scielent on me. I haven't heard anything from them since 8/18/23. I have emailed and sent multiple attempts ways both responding to their last email as well as the contact technical support on their website. They don't have a phone number to call. Super sketchy company and I am regretting getting this camera. Save yourself the trouble and find a different option.

Make sure you buy with a Credit Card

Make sure you buy with a Credit Card - that's the ONLY way I got my money back after returning it and not recieving a full refund. I sent over 30 unanswered emails and left 10 voicemails - all of which I had to send to CHASE BANK as evidence when the company disputed my chargeback. What a POOR company as of Sept 2023 - BEWARE - you will wait FOREVER to get your product - it won't work like you want it to - then you will try to get a refund - they will ghost you and not reply to any emails. Then when you take matters into your own hands - they try to fight you. HORRIBLE experience.

For those of you who have had a good experience and got a properly functioning product - LUCKY YOU! I started this relationship in April 2023 and it's now Aug 26 2023 and I wish I wouldn't have to wake up to SOLOSHOT contesting my chargeback this morning. This company is the BIGGEST headache. DO NOT GET INVOLVED! Wait until they have a better product or can pay for more employees to work the phones / email customer support.

Soloshot 3+ upgrade never received!

I purchased a Soloshot 2 and then the soloshot 3.
At the start of 2023 Soloshot came out with the 3+. You could buy it for $1,999.00 or upgrade your Soloshot 3 to the 3+.
On 02/13/23 I paid and shipped my 3 to the company. Around 4 days I received an email stating it was received. That was the last contact from Soloshot. It is now 08/07/23 and I have not heard from the company. I have texted, emailed and called Soloshot. The only thing you can do is leave a message. Nobody ever gets back to you! On blogs there are many that haven't had their camera upgrade returned. This is theft!
$1999.00 + $599.00 = $2598.00!
Soloshot as of now stole $2598.00 from me! I can only imagine reading others complaints on blogs how much money Soloshot has stolen!
People who have paid for the 3+ brand new have not received a 3+ Soloshot!
Beware and do a google search on Soloshot. Don't just take me complaint!
