Written by the company

No complaints

I understood that there have been issues, read all the reviews I could find. Then I finally even turned to their supplier to get their view. Finally decided to go ahead. Solcellen do seem to put an extra effort into each step of the process. A process which has been quite fast in my view given the pressure they are under right now with this huge interest in installing panels. From ordering in September 2022 it took 11 weeks to get the system (panels, inverter, battery) up and running. This included a quality check by Solcellen of the sub-contractor’s installation of the panels on the roof resulting in that the sub-contractor had to re-do some of the installations to comply with Solcellen’s requirements. I very seldom write reviews but in this case I think the general verdict on Trustpilot may not be fully fair and reflect how things are now, in late 2022. No complaints whatsoever.

Terrible service, terrible company

By far the worst company I have never dealt with after having lived in 3 countries. I signed for panels in Oct 21 with a planned install date of Spring '22. Then the supply problems started. I could understand and forgive this due to covid, but the real issue is the utter lack of communication from Solcellen. I have to constantly ask for updates as the proposed install dates come and go, and it takes multiple emails over multiple weeks to get any kind of reply, or some people just never reply to emails at all.

At one point I asked if they have different panels which are in stock and I finally got a reply from Birk, the head of sales, with an offer which I only had one day to accept (and I got the email in the evening of that day) offering to upgrade to the same number of larger panels for an increased cost. I accepted but pointed out that the larger panels could not fit on my roof. A revised offer was send, but the quoted price was much higher than the difference in panel cost would account for. When I asked Birk to explain the price difference, he never replied and so I did not get the upgraded offer.

Finally, now I was told my panels were back in stock at the end of July and my install date would be the 29th of September. I emailed to confirm this of Sept first, and while it took a week they confirmed on Sept 7th that everything was in order. Then, on Sept 13th I got another email from a different part of Solcellen saying my panels were not in stock at all, but I could pay for an upgrade at an ever larger price than before if I wanted. I emailed back asking what the hell is going on with them, but as of now (2 weeks later) they have not replied.

The company seems like a scam where you are pulled in with their cheap offers, but those panels are never in stock so they constantly try to upsell you to the less competitively priced larger panels. Customers either pay more to finally get something, or give up due to the terrible customer service.

Edit: When I emailed them to cancel my order, at the same address, they replied within two hours. This shows that they can answer emails quickly when they want to, they are just ignoring customers for months at a time. They are clearly running some kind of scam to pull in new customers which they never intend to actually provide for and use their terrible service to drive you into canceling or paying more for the larger panels.
