Solar-Estimate.org exists to provide an easy-to-use ballpark solar estimator so that homeowners can get a rough idea of the solar potential of their home before deciding if they want to talk to a solar company.Our calculator automatically places panels on your roof and adjusts the production estimate to the tilt angle, azimuth and shading of the best location for each array of panels on your roof. At the time of writing (December 2019) no other consumer website can do this. The only other place such accurate functionality is available is in professional solar design software used by solar companies. Our solar calculator also uses EIA and Genability electric use profiling for each region of the United States to estimate what your electricity use pattern looks like over the course of a day and over the seasons of the year. It then maps that hour by hour over the generation pattern from the proposed solar array. As such it is the only free online solar panel calculator that properly accounts for the effects of time of use billing on solar savings. Most online solar panel calculators just estimate annual usage and production, ignore this complexity and give inaccurate results. This last point is particularly important in California where all residential customers are now on time of use electric billing, making the times of the day you use power and the times of day you generate power critical to your solar savings analysis.

This was such a crazy easy process
This was such a crazy easy process. I took a couple of minutes to answer some quick, basic questions. Within a day I had contractors reaching out to provide quotes. This saved so much time rather than me having to reach out to each company, I would highly recommend.

Quick and easy solar estimate for your home
After speaking to my neighbor about his new solar, I thought why not check it out. I saw a site that estimated costs for going solar so I replied. The system was very quick and easy to do and results came back very quickly. Having installed a solar system on my home in Arizona, it gave me very specific information I could compare. Theysent that information to local solar companies and companies that operate in my state. I heard back from them almost instantly. They requested a copy of my power bill and went to work. I have had conversations with 2 of those companies and will meet with them next week. Solar-Estimate was very informative and made it very easy to start the process of considering solar installation. Thank you!!

Rude and disrespectful CSR!
I supplied my info as the site requested. All they did was pass it on to salespeople from solar companies in the area. I spoke to a couple and said I would reach out when ready. Fast forward 2 months and I receive a text from Kurt from this company asking if I was still interested. I said not at this time. He then proceeded to tell me solar was going up over 30% next year and I should do it now. Then said do you want it yes or now. We had a short text exchange where he became somewhat of a dork ( I would use another word but it would get deleted I am sure) about things. I highly suggest you do your own research and stay away from Kyle and this companyt.

The calculator was pretty accurate
The calculator was pretty accurate. We are older people who are not technically savvy. This was an easy process. It gave us lots of questions to ask when choosing a contractor, choices we may be interested in and credits we are eligible for our area.

We have been interested in solar…
We have been interested in solar options for our new home. Connected with one company and got an estimate and was not sure if it was a good price. Came across Solar-Estimate and gave it a shot. Their estimate was almost spot on what we had received. It also gave us an opportunity to receive another bid and it was what Solar-Estimate had shown us. Great tool to compare with companies seeking our business. Would recommend them to do first before getting bids from other companies.

Quick, Easy, and Honest

A little later I received a phone call from a Solar-Estimate representative. After speaking with her, she said thet my monthly electric bills were not high enough to benefit from solar at this time. She suggested that I wait until my rates would give me the most benefit to install solar. Up front and honest!

high level estimates were in range, the requested number of vendors did reach out with offers. 3 of the 4 vendors require in person/virtual meeting before giving details on the solution being offered. Prepare to have your electric bill handy before you get specific information.
