John really couldn’t have been more helpful, we rearranged part of the showroom to ensure what we were interested in buying would fit comfortably into our lounge, he went through all the different options of all styles and materials answering all the questions we had, he also answered more questions that we hadn’t thought of. John and all the other staff were very friendly, we were given a coffee as we had travelled quite far. We did not feel rushed and there wasn’t any pressure to buy, it was well worth the journey and we feel we purchased the correct thing for us.

Amazing. I returned to test out the chairs and was not disappointed by the professionalism from Graeme and the very kind older gentleman upstairs in flooring.
Although, I didn't purchase the Tetrad chair due to fact the leather was from Thailand, formerly known as Siam (from China)-- that invaded/plundered/looted (still) the Khmer people, I found Christopher's response superb to cultural issues and awareness to be beyond the average person. I am impressed by the affable staff here and am so happy to be introduced to the fantastic world of furniture made in England, starting with the Harrison Spinks mattress with Frank's guidance, which quality is absolutely superb after buying it from him a couple years ago.
I ended up purchasing a Tetrad chair somewhere else in England due to time constraints, with customized fabric of respectable source and had it air shipped to the USA-- the Tetrad Chair is HEAVENLY as the first time I sat on one like it at Smiths of Harrogate. Never knew how much I love English made furniture until now. Ta.

I rang up Smiths wanting details of a particular product. Whereby I was given a full rundown of product options, lead times, total cost including carriage.
Details of payment options were also made clear.

We came 150 miles to visit the showroom to see Himolla sofas and chairs and both agreed it was really useful to travel as the staff were so knowledgeable- it’s not just about style but the fitting for our dimensions! We had an extremely warm welcome with toilets hit and cold drinks and parking all on offer. So it is definitely worth coming up to Harrogate to get proper advice- quite superior to anything on offer in the southern area we live in.

The sales room had a large number of mattresses and bases which allowed me to do a good comparison. The salesman who assisted me with choosing my mattress and base was impressively well informed, listened carefully to my needs and gave me the information I needed without doing an over-hard sale and generally made the experience pleasant… I suppose the final proof will be when the bed and mattress are delivered.

Steve Dyson was very informative & helpful. He showed us the various options of beds without “pushing” the most expensive. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Steve Dyson was extremely helpful. He gave us all the information we required to decide which of the Himolla range best suited our needs for comfort and support. We were given all the time we needed to come to the right decision and at no time were we pressured into making up our minds.

Have used Smiths previously to buy Tempur mattresses and have always received excellent service. This time was no different. From first contacting Frank Nickerson (Bedding Manager), then dealing with Scott (Transport Manager) and finally our mattress being delivered by Dan and Mark, the service was first class. Everyone we spoke to and dealt with were knowledgeable, professional and pleasant. The mattress was also competitively priced. Overall, a really good customer experience.

Frank was amazing! Helpful, efficient and knowledgeable and spent time talking through different tilting bed options and mattresses to ensure we found the right one for my elderly mother who suffers with severe neck pain. Brilliant customer service.

A pleasure to deal with Smiths of Harrogate from start to finish no pushy sales person to deal with instead a friendly knowledgeable and happy to listen person to deal with as i had a few query’s regarding the Opera adjustable bed i was interested in purchasing so thanking you very much Frank you made the whole purchase a pleasure. I did make the correct choice with my Opera adjustable bed and it’s a real pleasure having an adjustable bed for my needs. The delivery team were friendly, polite and respectful of my home and got on with the erecting of my Opera adjustable bed easily with the knowledge they have so thanking them for that. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Smiths of Harrogate for any furniture needs especially Opera beds.

Lots of helpful advice and guidance regarding the most suitable mattress for us. Relaxed and not in the least pushy.

My husband has an aggressive, terminal illness and I urgently needed to find him a suitable, swivel recliner chair, preferably electrically operated. I also needed it sooner rather than later, so a 12 week order lead time was not going to work for us. Having searched for a chair locally (we are in Kent!) I discovered Smiths of Harrogate online and telephoned them. John Chamberlain was extremely helpful and advised me that they did have a chair available that fitted my remit, but that they did not deliver to Kent. John sent me photographs and a video of the chair in action and I said that I would look into how we could arrange collection. However, the following morning just after 9am I received a call from John to say that he had spoken to their transport company who were prepared to deliver the chair to us at a minimal cost - much less than it would have been for me to hire a vehicle to collect. John also pointed out that due to my husband's condition, we were eligible to purchase the chair less VAT and he forwarded to me the necessary document to complete and return. I am thrilled to say that the purchase and arrangements were completed within the hour and we are looking forward to delivery next week. The service received from Smiths of Harrogate (John in particular) is exemplary - how refreshing to be treated so well. I cannot recommend this firm highly enough, as I am sure that all their employees have the same friendly, informative, "can do" , efficient attitude. Five stars plus!
