The one star is given purely for the friendly admin staff. The dentists
a. failed to see on an x-0ray that a tooth was dead and the root infected - a fact plain to see when I took the patient (my daughter) had to have an emergency dental appointment at another dentist
b. offered an appointment 10 days away after I explained that she had had a night crying in agony in spite of the most powerful painkillers
c. she has had a second bad similarly horrific night thanks to the poor quality of care of thus practice in Kidbrooke
This is the worst dentist I have come across. In October I attended the dentist after calling ahead and booking an appointment. They made me sign upto the dentist as a new patient, collecting all of my information and requesting I sign up. Once I got in the dentist chair I was told it was an emergency appointment but by then they had already made me sign up as a new patient. Without my consent the dentist took a picture of my tooth. I was laid back with appliances in my mouth and it all happened very quickly. They violated my physical boundary. She went onto say they didn't have any availability to provide me with any service. This is after they had taken a picture without asking me if they could and scans.
I was told to book an appointment at reception but the receptionist was rude and dismissive refusing to book an appointment with me after collecting all my info. Eventually I got an appointment booked in for November. Then I received an email with false allegations and threats to call the authorities if I attended the appointment. The false allegations were rebutted with evidence they refused to acknowledge or address.
The most fraudulent ridiculous dentist. Do not go here they use your info to provide services to people under your name and make money claims on the NHS.
I was refused to be seen in Kodbrooke Village place, after coming 5 minutes past 9am (an opening time of the practice), and I wouldn’t be those 5 min later if I wasn’t told to wait 10 min on my previous appointment booked at opening time 9am. The receptionist is the most unhelpful person on globe, she will make you feel unwelcome and will do absolutely nothing to accommodate you. She didn’t even tried to find those 5min needed for regular check in of mine and my daughters. I lost my appointment booked 6 months prior and the only one I could do taking my DAY OFF FROM WORK and day off from school of my little ones.
Unhelpful and rude, don’t mind the place but receptionist is mean.
I am very satisfied with the results and grateful for the excellent care I received. I highly recommend Smile for You Dental and Dr. Hassan to anyone looking for top-notch dental care. This is by far the best dental experience I’ve ever had!
Had so many bad experiences with smile for you. Had a bridge done £1800 which kept falling out.they drilled my good tooth to try to make the ridge stick which again fell out. All they are interested in is taking your money. Would definitely not recommend
I believe this dentist is now too interested in making money, rather than caring for it's patients. When Mr Duthie was there, it had a lovely family feel, but now this is not the case.
Nice atmosphere, everything is clean and tidy, good people and I really feel comfortable every time
The surgery is dirty .The receptionist didn’t seem to know what was going on. I’m a nervous patient and they left me waiting an hour as they said the man was late who did sedation. I now have an awful infection and am on antibiotics. It’s cost me 600 pound for this treatment to now have an infection . I would avoid this place it’s dirty and u professional .
I hadn't been todentist for a few years was petrified, but sejal was absolutely amazing I didn't feel a thing,I highly recommend this dental practice and I'm staying with smile for you thankyou all the staff are lovely and the receptionist aswell thankyou tara
This review was recently posted on Google reviews and by the 25/7/23 was rendered invisible, presumably by the owner/operators to other people reading their reviews.
21/7/23 I have been a patient at the Chislehurst branch since 2014 or so. I attended a pre-booked routine NHS examination.
My usual experience has been to have what feels like all the 'gaps' between each tooth probed with an instrument and the dentist call out the number/name of every single tooth for logging by the assistant. This did not happen and no previous dental work was called for the assistant to log.
There was almost no examination except for several teeth, close to where work was required and not for them all. The examination stopped at the point where faults requiring work were found. The dentist made a vague remark about the possibility of potential decay under the gum, but did not examine all my gums.
I was not too pleased with the slight ambience of annoyance when I asked one or two questions.
When I was offered the choice of silver NHS or more expensive (more than three times the price) composite white fillings, my comment about not being comfortable with more metal fillings was met with silence.
Some information or advice would have been welcome, but I had had just chosen the more expensive option. There are disadavantages to silver fillings and composite ones but the dentist gave no advice.
I was not shown my X-Rays and although the practice has imaging capability, no pictures of the problem areas were taken. I was given a mirror so that I could see one tiny dark mark on each tooth.
As I am not qualified this meant almost nothing to me. I have since cleaned these teeth very thoroughly and can see nothing out of the ordinary. During the consultation the dentist said that these cavities had been caught early.
As I was leaving I asked if my crown was OK and I was told it was fine even though the dentist had gone nowhere near it.
I have subsequently discovered that not all cavities progress to require treatment. This was not stated at all by the dentist. Even if they considered that was not the case, I think that meantioning it as a possibility would have been more informative.
When I cancelled the pending work a few hours' later, the receptionist told me that the practice is charged by the service provider for cancellations. I am not in the habit of cancelling credit/debit card payments, however one pre-payment by credit card I did cancel recently showed a £7.50 charge to me for a very similar amount, made for both the transaction and the cancellation. The receptionist did not even know what the charge was.
The incident over the refund fees, involved a conversation with their colleague, loudly expressed for all to hear and repeated several times with a pretence of good humour. This offensive behaviour compounded my feeling of simply wanting to leave. I was not even disagreeing with the receptionist.
It clearly would have been pointless to openly discuss the other issue issue of a £460 quotation for two fillings for two incipient cavities, as possibly excessive and I was relieved that I had not talked about it. The cost of a composite filling has literally increased by £100 at this practice since since 2018-19. I object to providing the practice a gross income of nearly £700 per hour. My subsequent research into pricing shows that this quotation would be typical for a large cavity.
I am not in the habit of criticising people as they do their work. I am also tolerant of genuine errors and lapses.
Unfortunately I lost confidence in the dentist because of their omission to impart ordinary information about the relative benefits of treatments and the matter of the incomplete check-up. Silence and a lack of spontaneous information is highly disconcerting for me.
I always choose private dental work aside from the NHS checkup. The check-up this time was used as a vehicle to quickly find some work to generate a fee, otherwise a badly-paid imposition for this dentist.
It was my error to agree to the work and then cancel a little later, but also my right to change my mind. The refund incident completely confirmed my poor impression and decision to find another dentist.
I am happy to pay any refund charges within reason and at my discretion if the practice wishes me to. I am not seeking any kind of further refund and prefer to deal with the matter by seeking a consultation elsewhere. My advice would be for the practice to be a little more tolerant of NHS patients and to attenuate their interest in money considerably.
All I wanted was an NHS dental checkup and instead had a strange encounter. There are a number of questionable factors to it.
A subsequent consultation with a different dentist on the 3/8/23 indicated no problems.
The Treatment received at this Croydon Branch was 100%.
Dr Mori and her team did a Brilliant Job.
My Surgery lasted approximately 8hrs and is the Best Decision I Ever Made 👍🏽
If i could give 0 stars I would. I will not be going back here again. I booked a hygienist appointment and they phoned me yesterday (Thursday at 5pm) to reschedule my appointment to half hour earlier which I agreed to - they asked for a deposit which I agreed to pay today (Friday) as it made no sense to make 2 payments within 24 hours (they agreed) I then turn up for my appointment after rescheduling and they said it had been cancelled because the deposit hadnt been paid - and they lied! saying they left me a voicemail (which they didnt) and said they have a "strict policy of deposits for hygenist appointments) i explained that Id agreed to pay in on transaction given my appointment (they said the person shouldnt have agreed that) SO MY APPOINTMENT WAS CANCELLED WITHOUT INFORMING ME AND THEY LIED ABOUT LEAVING A VOICEMAIL. Terrible customer service - awful experience. There has been previous comments about the receptionists customer service skills and the dental practice going downhill - STILL THE SAME
Just came back from this practice and can’t rate it enough. I usually have a fear of dentist and dread going. As I was in excruciating pain I had to phone them and from the beginning of my call to the end of extraction of two teeth I was happy. The dentist was patient, kind and reassuring. Best experience of dentist ever. Truly amazing.
