This was totally what we needed, Very Happy with the Retract-A-Gate.
Using this in a 32 inch doorway to separate my little ones (dogs), when needed, from running all over the house.
We like everything about the gate, from the ease of installation, having the extra space to walk through, and to the visibility for me and the little ones.
Wish I would of bought this long ago, it has made life alot easier. Keeping them safe and less worry for me..
I would highly recommend this gate, I have looked at many and I believe this is the Best, absolutey-- No complaints.

The gates work great! Very satisfied with my purchase.

Ordering was easy and received it quickly. Very happy with this gate. It’s strong ( we have a 40lb German Shepherd puppy who has pushed and jumped on it quite a few times) and we have had no problem with the gate , no tears or weakening whatsoever. I like that it’s very easy to open and close and also retracts to the door frame when we do not need it to be closed . Would highly recommend this gate.

We have 2, one at the top of the basement stairs and 1 at the open laundry room doorway which is where the dog crate and food bowls provide Skittles a personal space during times while we are away. In addition we have attached extra fittings to make it possible to move the stairway gate to the stairs leading to the upper level of our house. Reattaching the gate is easy. The gates are sturdy, easy to latch and quiet during retraction. They provide safety for our active Maltese puppy while allowing adequate views through the mesh. We chose the neutral cafe color which blends well with the decor. Skittles doesn’t seem to object to the barriers and therefore doesn’t fight them. While closed they keep her securely confined from roaming and snooping into forbidden territory. Best of all, there is no bar on the floor to create a trip-and-fall hazard for us while we walk through the open gates.

Speedy delivery from order. Relatively straightforward installation. Easy to use. We have a Border Collie, so he can jump it if he chooses, but for everyday purposes the gate deters wandering up the stairs unsupervised.

Love these gates and such a great company! We have had our gates for almost two years and couldn’t be happier. We had an installation issue and when we contacted them they were excellent. They were very quick to respond, provided great customer support as well as follow up. Highly recommend!!

The gate was sent quickly and was exactly as described. We get great use out of it, as it keeps our dog out of the baby play area. 100% would recommend.

The contact in the States was marvellously efficient and customer friendly. Alas, the same cannot be said for the uk office.

A brilliant gate and stopped our puppy heading upstairs. He did manage to chew the bottom of the fabric so we have to pull it really tight at the bottom before locking it or he slips underneath.

This gate is awesome. We were able to get concrete anchors to screw it into mortar and attach it to our brick patio outside. It's so convenient and so easy -- absolutely great for dogs. I was worried about having the exact right height, since we wanted to put screws in mortar and not brick, but the way the hooks work, you have some wiggle room with where they can be placed. It would be awesome if this "wiggle room" was included on the item descriptions (instead of just "attaches at X and Y inches").

I bought this for a house warming gift. We have had one in place for almost 7 yrs. and it has had daily use and is still in great condition. I highly recommend this gate!

Easy to install, very easy to use. Love this purchase! So so much better than the wooden gates I was using before this arrived.

Smart retract gate is a wonderful product. First they shipped the item promptly, with a clear set of instructions. We added the optional drywall anchor kit and spacers to install on our second floor stairs. Installation was a breeze. The Smart retract gate is easy to use and provides a safe and secure environment in keeping our 20 month old from slipping down our steep set of stairs. We are very happy with our purchase.

We love how low profile the gates are, and in our efficiently laid out home, none of the other style of gates would work well. The retract mechanism has been working really well too.

The only hard truth with the gate is that install can be fiddly. You do need to be pretty close to perfectly aligned in all 3 dimensions, so if your walls aren't perfectly square, you might find yourself adding/removing spacers on each gate bracket to get it just right. That said, install is a one time thing and we'd totally buy the gates again.

It’s an easy gate to use but it’s not good for cats. I was very disappointed as the ad stated it was a pet gate. My new kittens scaled it the very first day. It does nothing to keep them either in or out of anywhere. Very easy to climb. I was disappointed because I basically bought it for nothing.

We love it. Solved a potentially serious safety issue. Installed quickly and I am glad we bought the extra parts to work with our baseboard. I love the black one because I can easily see if it is open or closed. It is very well made and a life saver, quite literally in an interior hall, keeping an elderly cat relaxed and safe in the back guest room. Love the locking feature which is needed with 3 curious terriers. Worth every penny! Thank you.

So my husband refused to get a gate for the bottom of our stairs and it was driving me crazy. He said the way our stairs are designed, there is no gate that will work on them, we will just have to make sure to keep an eye on our son so he doesn't climb up the stairs (which was becoming impossible to do). Finally after I bugged him enough times, he said I can buy whatever I want and then install it myself. So I bought this gate, and, well, he installed it. It works perfectly, despite what my husband thought was our unique stairs that there is "no gate" for. If you are suffering from a stubborn significant other who claims you have some unique area in your house that you can't put up a gate in, this gate might just work there.
