Lock failed quickly and the business…

Lock failed quickly and the business refused to refund.

Interestingly, the 1 star review I placed on their website never showed up. This would explain their 4.9 average - they don't publish the negative reviews!

Do not buy

Do not buy - bad quality and customer service. The lock malfunctioned within a few months, not unlocking. We were not able to get into the house and needed a locksmith. The locksmith said that the lock had failed internally, and needed to drill into the lock. The locksmith told us this was a common issue with locks of this brand. Smart Door Locks refused to offer a refund as their terms require for the locksmith to call their emergency line, which was the last thing on our minds because we had no way to get into the house. We lost more than $1,300 (lock, gateway, installation, emergency locksmith) and were left with visible holes in the door.

Also note that the locks do not engage the deadbolt electronically, but only the latch, which is not clearly stated on the website.
