The Best Scotland C2C

We enjoyed Scot's Hebridean Way tour last year so much, that we chose to to join him on his Scotland C2C last week.
A truly amazing experience, with the smoothest, quietest roads through stunning scenery. Scot's thoughtful, meticulous planning allows you cycle on quiet back roads, away from the tourist traffic, from Montrose, upto Inverness, down to Fort William and ending at the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse.
Rolling arable hills, hidden lochs, mountains and glens, beautiful views and amazing wildlife, all supported by Scot and his "Goody Van".
Scot's extensive knowledge of cycling in Scotland and his brilliant logistics were abundantly clear, allowing us to simply cycle and enjoy every minute.
We can't recommend Scot and Skinny Tyres highly enough. If you're thinking of a Scottish cycling holiday, then this is the place...and the man!
We're already looking forward next year's trip, hopefully the "MOGJOG"!
Thank you again to both Scot and his son, Tavish, for a wonderful week.

Hebridean Way cycle week

We just had a great week cycling the Hebridean Way. Scot was brilliant throughout - he could not have done more to help and sorted everything the whole way along. You can just cycle at your own pace even if it takes you all day which means that the trip suits a wide variety of abilities. My wife, who cycles more than I do, did superbly on her hybrid with a great sense of achievement at the end whilst I thoroughly enjoyed a less challenging week on my ebike. Great company with the others in the group too! All in all, a memorable week. Thank you Scot. Richard Loudon

Hebridean Cycle Trip - All I had to do was pedal…

Having a love for the Outer Hebrides but never having done a multi-day cycling trip, I decided if I was to complete The Hebridean Way by bike I needed to go with a cycling tour company. I chose Skinny Tyres and never once regretted my decision. All aspects of the trip were covered and Scot Tares, tour leader, handled everything perfectly. And that is why I completed The Hebridean Way last week. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Experience the best of riding in Scotland with brilliant support

I recently joined Skinny Tyres on their ‘Island Hopper’ tour to photograph and film the journey for a short video project. Having ridden much of the route before on solo tours (camping or staying in hostels) I can really see the difference a supported tour makes.

Scot brings years of experience guiding in Scotland and across Europe, and it shows in every detail. The support van is incredible — fully equipped with tools, spares, snacks, and some unique features picked up from years on the road. It has everything needed to keep the ride running smoothly and comfortably, especially when the weather turns.

The route planning was excellent, linking together some of the best riding on the west coast. Quiet, scenic roads made up the vast majority of the route, with only occasional short sections of busier traffic (and never anything hectic). And with ferries, accommodation, and meals all organised in advance the riders are free to focus entirely on the ride and the landscapes unfolding around them.

If you want to experience the best of riding in Scotland with brilliant support I can't recommend Skinny Tyres highly enough.

Scotland's beauty by bike from a Scot called Scot!tish

Scot is Scottish! That makes for a bespoke tour on another level. He is knowledgeable beyond the norm about both the history of Scotland and also the terrain.

If a ferry is late or changes, Scot can efficiently whip up a route variation that means that you never feel that you 'lose out.'

The tour takes you to the most stunning parts of the Inner Hebrides and some of the best of the Outer Hebrides.

If (like me) you want to ride some hills and need support to achieve this, Scot and Skinny tyres excel. There's encouragement and never any patronising. There are snacks to keep you going, a range of hotels to stay in and plenty of evening meals to keep your strength up! Evening meals are included in the tour price as is the routes, bike mechanical, snacks whilst on the road and Scot also takes a mean photo.

I would definitely recommend that you join his tours to see Scotland the way that a true Scot sees its beauty from a bike!

Hi Sharon, thank you so much for your lovely review. As I said to you on the trip, it means a lot. I started Skinny Tyres so people could come to Scotland and I could organise cycling routes in some amazing scenery.
It's so great to be able to share my love of Scotland with others.
Thanks

Passion & attention to detail

I was on a Skinny Tyres trip last summer and loved it. Scot's passion shines through, and the attention to detail is amazing. Despite the variety of riding abilities on the trip, we were all looked after equally whilst riding (how Scot does this is beyond me!) and we each felt like the most important person. Fantastic.
It was the Outer Hebrides trip I was on, and it seemed like we were in another world entirely which was really therapeutic.
I highly recommend Skinny Tyres!!

Exceptional Experiences

I’ve done 3 trips with Scot at Skinnytyres….all different …the first was a supported cycle from John o groats to lands end…the support and help I received from Scot was exceptional …always close by for a punctured tyre, hot coffee or a motivational chat. I also did a six day highlands tour …brilliant routes and great company …Scot goes out of his way to ensure the client is always put first…and lastly I recently enjoyed the outer Hebrides…another stunning trip ..an area about which Scot is incredibly knowledgeable…try Skinnytyres…I assure you you won’t be disappointed

Thank you so much for your feedback; we really appreciate it. Ensuring that riders have the best holiday possible is one of our key objectives and this confirmation from you really does help us know we are doing things right. On every cycling trip we run we aim to make sure it meets these high standards for the group, but also is a completely individual and personal experience for each rider.
Thank you
