As the leading Heating, Electrical, Plumbing & First Aid training provider in the UK, Skills Training Group has facilities in Paisley, Dalgety Bay. It’s no industry secret that there is a severe skills shortage of qualified gas engineers in the UK. The privatisation of the Gas Board in 1986, further compounded by a lack of investment in public funding for apprenticeships has caused a skills gap in the industry. There are around 25 million homes in the UK, all of which require a source of heating and hot water. By far the and away, gas central heating is the most popular method of proving heating & hot water. With gas appliances requiring an annual service to maintain their manufacturer’s warranty, every rented property requiring an annual Gas Safety Certificate, repairs required to keep appliances operational & the average lifespan of a combi boiler lasting 15 years’ you can be assured training as a gas engineer is both prosperous and sustainable.

Very efficient, easy to manage process, rapid delivery of materials - and the day itself was well-run, fun, easy to absorb and apply and ran impeccably to time. Thank you!

I attended an unvented cylinder course in Glasgow on Wednesday the 25th of March. The information I received before the course was spot on with directions/car parking/timings etc.
On the day the tutors were extremely helpful and they made you feel like nothing was too much trouble for them.
My tutor Paul was very calm with a great sense of humour which put everyone at ease straight away especially myself. Added to this Paul's extensive knowledge and ability to answer any question.
I cannot recommend them highly enough and will certainly be going back to learn some more of the courses they have on offer. Big thank you to the Glasgow team.Dan Sayward

I recently completed a plastering course and honestly couldn’t recommend it enough. Jim, the trainer, was absolutely excellent from start to finish. He explained everything clearly, was really patient, and made sure everyone felt confident before moving on.
I’ve learned so much in a short space of time, from the basics right through to more advanced techniques. The hands-on experience was invaluable and really helped build my confidence.
If you’re thinking about getting into plastering or improving your skills, I would highly recommend this course. Thanks again to Jim for such a great experience!

I attended a day course with Skills Training Group for my Emergency First Aid certification, and I cannot recommend it enough. Our instructor, Allan, was absolutely fantastic. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a gift for making complex information very easy to understand. The way he structured the training just made complete sense, it was relaxed, engaging, and far from the death-by-PowerPoint style I was expecting.
I came away feeling fully refreshed on the latest up-to-date codes of practice and genuinely confident in my ability to handle a first aid situation.
Highly recommend both Alan and Skills Training Group!

I recently completed the one‑day In‑Service Inspection and Electrical Equipment Testing (PAT) course in Paisley with David Willison and Skills Training Group, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish.
The location was convenient and well set up for the course. David was an outstanding trainer—informative, supportive, knowledgeable and genuinely engaging throughout the full day. His delivery made the content clear, practical and easy to apply, and he kept the group involved from start to finish.
If you need this qualification, I’d highly recommend Skills Training Group. Great delivery, great trainer, and a very smooth experience overall.
