AVOID at all costs!

AVOID at all costs!! This company is only after your money.
The sales person had an amazing pitch and sold me on convenience and process driven application which was meant to reduce the admin staff I require, instead, I had to employ an additional staff member to work Simpro properly.
First - they charged a discounted rate of approx $6000NZD for set up (our replacement software Tradify had NIL set up cost). The set up was incomplete and incompatible, it was meant to reconcile with Xero however it completely missed supplier invoices, or at best sent them across incorrectly. Invoicing was a nightmare, and could take several hours to produce a single invoice.
Because they couldn't get their supplier invoice system to work properly, we were told that the only solution was for the supplier to change their invoices to suit Simpro! This defies belief, the supplier is an international company LOL.
When the new staff member was employed, they wanted $750NZD for 3hours of training!! Then, for every "user" it costs $200NZD per month, and if that "user" needs the mobile app, another $50NZD for month.
Upon contacting them to complain, they had no complaints policy or procedure, no escalation process and when I pushed, their only response was to talk to their lawyers!
I now have to finish off my contract with them as they catch you on a minimum 12 month term even though they have failed to meet their obligations.

Absolutely useless

The software stopped billing on the automated customer and the company failed to help when notified

The automated invoice and billing system was unable to be linked by simpro themselves and we had to schedule on one part of the system and then set up a recurring invoice on another as this was unable to work together. Sought help from simpro tech support but I was told this was unable to work together and I had to use a "work around"!

Completely useless and I am now running jobber with much more success!

Another software update

Another software update. Another problem. To then really put the cherry on top and email confirm significant price increases...

I've never had an app that needs reinstalling after EVERY update.

Their system is getting less reliable - more downtimes/outages being recorded

Some of the previous reviews were probably a bit harsh to be honest. We've been using Simpro for around 3 years, and to be honest, its pretty comprehensive and adjustable, to suit the structures for most standard types of trades companies.
The support staff really do their best, I will say, in all fairness to them.

Our only real issue is the recent increasing down times. Especially when they are encurarging their clients to go 100% cloud based, and rely 100% on their system. This means that when they have a techical glitch/server own time, every customers' business who uses them also stops dead in it's tracks. Unfortunately, their downtime windows are getting longer and more frequest.

But as this impact is that significant to a business, the loss of 2 stars is justifiable.

DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU ARE 100% SURE YOUR BUSINESS FITS THEIR RIDGID BOX SYSTEM

We signed up for this after a brief video call and a few phone calls and thought that with a company this size they would be able to handle any problems integrating our business into their system but soon found out that Simpro is a ridged box that your business has to fit into.
The whole system runs on purchase orders means that you have to have a serial number and exact price for every nut bolt and washer you use. You also need to add price lists to the system and when you use Screwfix, Amazon and Ebay this becomes impossible as their prices change every week which means you have to keep going in to update the prices. We had 1/2 a day trying to implement our business into their system and quickly found it it would not work. They even said it dont work for all businesses so we thought that they would be reasonable cancelling the contract. It cost us over £5k to exit the contract.
DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU ARE 100% SURE YOUR BUSINESS FITS THEIR RIDGID BOX SYSTEM OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED AND IT WONT BE CHEAP
I would not recommend this system or company to anyone, very disappointed with the system and the way we were charged. They did not look to see if it would work for us before signing us up and took £5k for what was basically a few hours work

If Elon Musk made a Job Management System.

We've been using SimPro for nearly two years and quite honestly, it's a major disappointment.

Oversold garbage

First meeting with the team at SimPro, they acted and talked like it could do everything. It was a perfect system. All the bells and whistles. Could sync with everything.

It's everything but.

The Reporting

The reporting is a total mess and completely broken. It's borderline unusable. I don't think I've found a single 'standard report' that was practical or useful. Relying on the BI Reporting which is always broken with syncing delays constantly. As a rule, it's 2 days out of date so you'll never have an accurate report.

Compatibility

It syncs with literally no sales, marketing or customer service tool. Hubspot? No chance. Sales force? Nope. Monday, Pipedrive, Mail chimp, WordPress keep dreaming. Everything and I mean everything, has to be connected through Zapier which is a pain in the face.

General system

It's overly complicated for what it actually does. The search function is pretty much useless. The scheduling system is nightmare fuel to try to figure it out. The layout is useless. Forms, email, text integration etc. is terrible.

Support

God love the support team, they try but any effort is futile. The same issues just keep cropping up and 'getting fixed' only for the same thing to happen next week.

If I could give SimPro less than 1 star I would. Maybe .5 for the support staff whose every waking moment must be hell on earth.

Not what Dreams are made of!!

The sales team (Matthew) will sell you a dream and promise you the everything that you desire.. but when it comes down to the training and implementation you will quickly watch the promised features and dreams fall away in front of your eyes and realise that the software is too clunky and too time consuming and it will never support your/my business needs.
The trainer we had (Casey) was very good but even she mentioned that Simpro sales team had been promising things left right and centre that they can't deliver. We have paid to date the best part of £1000 and have now cancelled the package as mis-sold to us.. (thank god all calls are recorded otherwise it would have been our word against the sales person).
They only managed to complete 2 days out of 3 days for our so called training as on the 3rd day they had a software issue and we were unable to use it, meaning our trainer left early as couldn't train us.
Additional forms you may require are an additional cost, along with most of the features.
Accounts have been good in cancelling my contract however my experience with Simpro and the money we have wasted is far from what we were promised.
SAVE YOUR MONEY SANITY!

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY

I own a fire and security company and initially contacted SimPro in April 2020 when i was considering changing my system from Alarm Master. I spoke to a really nice sales person Annette who was really nice and helpful although she did say she was still learning as she was new to the business. Simpro suggested a video meeting with myself and my IT person who looks after all of our It stuff, Annette and another woman Leslie who Simpro said was an Alarm Master expert and had migrated many customers from Alarm Master in the past. The sole purpose of this meeting was to find out what we would need to do as a business to get the data from our previous system and start using Simpro. We were told a few times by Leslie when my IT guy asked that all we would need to do manually would be to enter our customers start and end date of their contracts ( everything else could be done by exporting the data which my IT guy would do ). This didn'tseem like too much work, so after some deliberation i decided to take the plunge and go with Simpro as Annette had convinced me that they were a great company and the system could do everything that we needed it to do. After weeks of their implementation training we got to the main part of the system which was to set up the maintenance planner. This was an essential tool that we needed Simpro for and unfortunately this is where it all went wrong. The trainer Nick stated we would need to manually create a site for each individual customer before we could start to use it. This was a shock to me as this was not what we were told at our initial meeting and changed things drastically as we would now need to create sites for over 4000 customers. I spoke to Annetee straight away who was as surprised as myself by this but was sure there was a solution. A few days passed and Annette called to confirm that there was no way around this we would need to create a site for each customer. As a small business we would not have the resources to create a site for all of our customers and i was also extremely angry that we had been lied to and not told the facts. Annette has been very sympathetic and has done everything to try to resolve this but Simon and the powers at be at Simpro feel that they can only partially refund me my money. As it stands they have decided to hold on to over £1000 of my money and have said that will not refund me anymore. I have had no option but to instruct my solicitor to proceed with court action to recover the rest of my money. To summarise I would strongly advise any other company that is considering Simpro to think twice, read this review and take your business elsewhere as they are an untrustworthy, deceitful company with absolutely no integrity who are only after your money. My solicitor has listened to the case and has assured me that Simpro are guilty of misrepresentation and that i will eventually get my money back plus expenses. Such a shame that i need to go through all this to get what is rightly owed back to me.
