Frustrating!

Have been collecting Avios through the British Airways site for many years but recently I have consistently not been awarded Avios through sites I have previously used many times and gone through every step carefully!! Very frustrating!!

Can't be trusted. Dont waste your time

The reviews for BA Shopping suggest serious and repeated problems with their service. My own experience is that they simply do not credit Avios points as promised. I’ve made several purchases through their links — including small items from Screwfix and Transport for Wales — and never received the points. I even bought an iPhone and Apple Watch via their online store, only to be told afterwards that they couldn’t honour the purchase.

Every complaint or online query seems to take up to 35 days for a response, if one comes at all, and the replies often make little sense. It feels pointless trying to resolve anything through their system. In my view, BA Shopping cannot be trusted to deliver what they advertise. Save yourself the frustration and buy directly from reputable retailers instead.

Dismal Experience

Dismal experience. Really not worth engaging with for all the hassle that it involves; continually chasing and claiming for missing avios. I recently made a purchase with Superdrug (not a usual option for me) in order to take advantage of the 20 to £1 deal. First the transaction didn't show up in my account at all. Then then eventually a pending amount of 1,680 (correct) and then I get a "Good News!" email to say I've received 422 in my account for the Superdrug transaction. Why is that good news? It's totally incorrect. I am now chasing through various portals AGAIN. It reflects very poorly and creates a terrible consumer/brand relationship. Step up BA/AVIOS. It's not good enough. And I want my missing AVIOS!

It should be a ZERO star

It should be a ZERO star, really. The BA and Avios e-store is practically a scam. No matter how precise and careful you are in following all the rules in order to make a purchase to earn Avios, no matter what, they will NEVER honour it. The time and efforts needed to follow up, complain, email, send and re-send documents, are just a waste of your time and efforts. Just terrible!!

Do NOT trust BA shopping. Within my Executive Club account, I visited the Avios-linked page, clicked through onto one of the named partners and made a purchase (mostly to keep my points from expiring). I did not receive the avios points. After the initial stipulated 'wait' period I made a claim via their site. Nothing. Then after months with about half a dozen calls and a dozen emails (including proof of purchase etc) BA still refused to acknowledge the purchase nor credit the points. The Trust Pilot average score here says it all. Avoid.

THEY STEAL AVIOS BACK

We had a phone dead on arrival and it had to be credited and repurcharsed by apple.

On the same day the people at BA.com took the points back with no warning and when you try and contact them they say it takes 3 months.

DO NOT use this site as they are both unscrupulous refuse to take phone calls and are a shambles.

It look like we will need to sue them to get the Avios back

HORRIBLE E-shop experience

HORRIBLE E-shop experience, and non-existent customer service. Made purchase of $400+ on e-shop (linked credit card, linked BA membership number), hoping to collect AVIOS for my future flight. After 2 months of purchase and claiming missing Avios on the website, no purchase history is shown on my account. No transaction history, no "pending avios" is listed under my account. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY TO PURCHASE ON THE ESHOP. NO AVIOS were earned. The only email response i get is "Oh it takes 120 days" non sense.

I give it one star because there’s…One mad costumer

I give it one star because there’s nothing lower they are a scam company using tic tok sail adds to still your money ordered and was charged for a toolbox August 2 /2024. Received an order number ( fictitious) 5 digit number) with no shipping confirmation and not able to any response from company at all. But I’m not one to lay down without a fight I will file a lawsuit on this fictitious company. Hard to believe they get away with this , should be jailed. PS one mad costumer 😡

Many points are not given when the…

Many points are not given when the process has been followed correctly. The missing claims process does not work. Customer services is non existent. I am surprised big companies like John Lewis, Just Eat, Boots, Toolstation etc allow themselves to be associated with them.

The worst cashback site I've ever used

The BA Avios shop (formerly known as Gate 365) is a disgrace. None of my recent purchases with Appleyards Flowers and Hotel du Vin were awarded despite being clearly visible on my tracking. You then have to start filling out "Missing Avios Claim" forms and submitting copies of invoices, etc. They come back and say it can take up to 6 months to investigate and award your missing Avios for shopping through their dreadful website. I'm astonished BA puts its name to this.

Rubbish at awarding the reward points, which is the whole point of using the site.Suggest you consider Virgin Red instead

I have always been an Avios collector but this shopping site that provides Avios when you click through to a retailer and make a purchase has gone down hill rapidly. My last three purchases did not register for the Avios points that were promised and I had to claim them manually. I am considering the wisdom of loyalty to BA in favour of Virgin Atlantic as most of the trips I do are to the US. They need to get their act together. I have taken to video recording each transaction (using a camera as in computer screen grabs could be blamed for the problem of not registering). The time taken to award the points is also way too long given that this is a computer age and the transactions are completed electronically. Virgin are much more efficient.

Disrespectful and dishonest

Generally the website is slow and very bad to use, above all it’s full of tricks to fool you. I found a good avios offer of 12 avios for £1 to use very.co.uk
It was very hard to use the retailer website, at the end I managed to purchase the product exclusively because of the avios offer to my surprise at the end I’ve got 2 avios per £1. I’m trying to fill in a complaint but again the website is miserable. The whole “rewarding” experience is depressing, BA feels ok to fool customers into bad retailers and bad deals. I’m disappointed and disgusted with the absolute disrespect and dishonesty around it. Forget avios and google for the best offer, you’ll save money and precious time.
