FTC and BBB please investigate against shopgoodwill.com

The auction by shopgoodwill.com is bogus and needs to be investigated by the FTC and BBB
The online system will show a price every second during the auction but after the time is over you’ll find the person who has won the deal had submitted a one dollar higher price 8-10 hours back . How that is possible? For example on 6th January at 8.59 pm EST if the auction price shows $94 as the last bid then if I bid $100 at 8.59:01 second even then the winning bid will be shown as $101 with a bidding time of 10.00 am EST ( that means in the morning of the day ). How that is possible??? That means somebody is manipulating the system programmatically. Please investigate. We need transparency in the process

Terrible site horrible customer…

Terrible, horrible customer service at the northern Michigan shopgoodwill. They ripped me off and tried to explain why with lies. I won an auction with buy it now...the auction clearly stated that I had seven days to make my payment...I tried to make payment within two days of the auction closing....they refused my payment and resisted the item on eBay this time without a buy it now option only a bidding option. They took days to get back to me and basically blew me off. I got no satisfaction and someone else bid on the item...I let it go and it sold for the exact price that I had won it for with buy it now. Sorry sorry customer service and terrible terrible customer response. If they would have honored their listing practices they could have saved a customer from being disgruntalled."ME", Buyer beware because they have done something similar to me before where I purchased an item and paid for it and then they told me they no longer had the item. I have purchased some items from their site that are terrible smelling (like cigarettes) they lie in the listings and tell you there is no odors or stains which is untrue and their shipping charges are way too high. They charge you enormous shipping and then it takes weeks to get your item Bad business! They could care less about the customer and are only greedy money mongers. I refuse to ever purchase from the northern Michigan shopgoodwill again. Goodwill is supposed to be a charitable organization but they do not live up to that standard at the northern Michigan Shopgoodwill.

Do not order from this auction site

Do not order from this auction site. I've been very disappointed numerous times and has spent way too much money on its auction site just to get garbage product. They show pictures of like the best items in the bundle which are only one or two usually and the rest is just trash but they make it seem like you're going to get a big bundle of stuff that's like good stuff and it's not and then if you try to argue it and get a partial refund or anything of that nature they just deny it and they have all these reasons and multitude of reasons why they don't have to refund your money they are running quite the scandal this is a million dollar company more than a million dollar company they generate millions every year on these auctions and they get all the stuff for free and only donate a very small percentage to actually help people in need.

A culmination of Lazy people

I was interested in a perfume/fragrance product. Obviously these people just need to take accurate pictures and provide a decent description of an item. Alas, I've expected too much out of a company that doesn't provide a lick of training to their incredibly lazy employees.

As for providing a tip for improvement? I don't think it's possible, since this company claims to be a "non profit" organization. Which is run by greedy corporate heads who try in every way shape and form to sell a donated product at high costs, without any repercussions.

Inaccurate vague descriptions on most…

Inaccurate vague descriptions on most all items. Honest straightforward descriptions are rare. I’ve purchased several items, giving them the benefit of doubt. Totally irresponsible on my part.
Insult to injury, shipping is inflated. Another point of income for them.

Goodwill bidding goes out of hand with…

Goodwill bidding goes out of hand with their obvious scams, it's appalling. They start w very low tag price to entice bidders but smack in the middle, a robot will bid two, three, five, or more times consecutively with outrageous figures to increase their bidding values. This isn't limited to high-value items, they also do it on silver jewelry or anything they know will gather interest.

You can tell if they overbid themselves thus nobody wants to bid anymore on top of their robotic bids bc the very item would resurface in their listing in the days that follow.

This isn't so they can have more funds to help the needy. It's for the CEO and top executives making millions off of donated, FREE, stuff from good people.

BAD quality on representing items, shipping ITEM in a timely manner

LESS THAN ONE STAR
I have shopped goodwill for several years, but this year has gotten so bad. You wait forever to get your ITEM than you do get it it looks like something else th you wouldn't have purchased, The shipping costs are outrageous, a very small ITEM is pack in a much larger box, you have to search for the ITEM in the box.
Some of the stores take FOREVER to get your ITEM to you, I 'ive had items taken up to 3 weeks to get to me. I had complained to shopgoodwill but they've not had good answers for me.
Especially watch name brand items!!!!!

They add handling fees

They add handling fees, and the shipping is outrageously expensive. Your $7.99 item becomes $28.00 real quick.

And you're not getting premium packaging or anything. They shipped a vintage laserdisc that had some historic value to it like a piece of garbage.

Where do they get these ridiculous…

Where do they get these ridiculous shipping fees? I bought sneakers for 9.99. From California good will. I live in Arizona. Not that far away. 12.74 for shipping and fees for some one to put it in a box. eBay and Amazon are far cheaper. I'm going to not shop at good Will any more.

The problem is PEOPLE have ran their mouths about “selling’ online to goodwill employees! So of course prices started jumping outrageously, and the ones who don’t even sell have to feel the backlash. Plus it’s one of the main reasons this online bidding scam is even a thing….Just remember who was the cause of all of this….

Bought a stereo amplifier from them

Bought a stereo amplifier from them. It arrived in a undamaged box and the amplifier was broken pretty bad the faceplate was separated from it. Item didn't work either. I messaged them sent them emails they finally contacted me and I sent the pics to prob a employee's cell phone. There blaming the shipper for it the box was no damaged which I still have as proof. Anyways there blaming the shipper and going on 2 weeks and I've heard nothing back. Bottom line is I see things clearer now what there doing. You see 90% of there items are auction so these items aren't for the public to purchase in store so there stashed away somewhere. Isn't goodwill to help the less fortunate and needy. That's not what's going on they're selling at auction free items and making bank there's people that have $ outbidding people that can't afford that item if it goes to high. That's not needy that's greedy and people donating thinking they're helping someone out that's not what's happening your making a CEO that makes over 800k a year richer. The whole point is you can't walk in these store fronts and buy this stuff nobody can they're selling to whoever has the most money now is that helping the less fortunate, nooooo it's not employees make 12 to 15 hourly which is not good. Plus there shipping is crazy there gouging you badly and they charge a handling fee. How can you charge a handling fee when it's they're stuff which I find crazy. I was bidding on a item the shipping was 16$ then just before the auction was over the shipping was jumped to 42$ now why did that change. Well they blamed fed ex for that so I declined the item and lost it. You'll notice they check items that are valuable and not so valuable they just say we don't know. Using e bay as a selling tool and other e commerce sites. Bothers me I have a 40$ pile of E waste sitting around that I just want to toss but I have to hang on to it. Never again will I buy from them your better off buying on e bay at least your covered by purchase protection. Find it pretty crappy what they're doing making bank off free stuff. Stop donating to them sell it or give it away on marketplace or something don't give to this greedy company that's abusing the market. You can go to Walmart and get it new and cheaper. Dollar tree items with tags still on them asking 3 to 4$. Go look around on there site it's right in front of you think about what I said there stashing stuff selling at auction while there store front has nothing it. It's not about helping people it's about lining there pockets with money. Google the CEO and down the troths income you'll see things differently.Update they refunded my money the same day they was notified about my review on trust pilot. In my eyes it does not change a thing there crooks selling junk for top dollar.

Item significantly not as described, but they wanted me to pay return shipping

I purchased an antique coffee mill that arrived without the drawer. The drawer was clearly pictured in the auction listing. I asked them to send the drawer … sent maybe half a dozen emails and was ignored. I went to PayPal. Goodwill eventually responded but said I could only have a refund if I returned the item at my own expense … even though the error was 100% theirs. I eventually got my money back from PayPal but be warned … only pay these people with a credit card and go straight to the card company if you don’t get what you paid for. These people do NOT care about customer experience and will not go out of their way to make sure you are treated fairly.

Shipping Gouging

The problem with Shopgoodwill.com is the shipping price gouging. I know the gazzillion posts and videos made by your site explaining saying FedEx calculates, but this is not true. One I have asked FedEx directly and they have confirmed this statement to be untrue. So to confirm again, I messaged goodwill to say hey why for the same exact item that weighs the same coming from the same place are you charging 15.00+ for shipping the one with zero bids you are now charging 48.00+ dollars. The response was “I will go in and fix that”. It is not FedEx! Stop blaming others for this! It is sad, as many like myself want to support your site as we know it supports a good cause, but let the platform work as it should in the auction format, allowing consumers the ability to bid and purchase on USED items as they should! This is really starting to make your company look greedy and dishonest, which makes people question the sincerity of the cause! You rake in millions yearly, stop trying to rob people of their hard earned money for things that were DONATED to your company!

I purchased two JBL speakers for $1173…

I purchased two JBL speakers for $1173 from Goodwill Easterseals Rocky Mountain. I used PayPal, set up a payment plan, went back to the site and purchased. On their end they charged the ENTIRE purchase to my account which I was not prepared for. PayPal assured me the fault was with Shop Goodwill. Rocky Mountain "passed the buck" to Goodwill of Orange County who handles the purchases. They went back and forth, blaming each other, and finally decided not to help in ANY WAY.
