Rubbish! Can’t handle air travel

We bought this bag a year ago on sale for $675 and on the first trip it was very dirty because the fabric can’t handle the dirty black conveyor belts. Second trip the bag was completely trashed and ripped open!! It can’t handle the rigours of check in luggage. The airline said nothing unusual happened to the bag just regular carriage through the belt delivery system to the carousel. I’ve sent over 10 detailed photos to Hartmann and they claim it’s an airline issue and would only offer a 50% discount to buy another one. They are a complete waste of money! I’ve owned a Tumi suit carrier check in for 12 years and it does 12 around the world trips or more each year and only a broken buckle! Hartmann Tweed is rubbish and cannot hold up to the rigours of airline travel. They look good until you use them and get very dirty and trashed easily. Don’t waste your money. Disappointingly it’s hard to believe Hartmann wouldn’t do better than a 50% off list price to fix this issue. It’s our 5th Hartmann and although Samsonite own them they don’t stand behind their products. The customer service person Azalea sends you the discount offer as if it’s an amazing result for you! It’s not acceptable for such a high end brand and cost. Be warned!

Low quality Century Deluxe Extended…

I bought a Century Deluxe Extended Journey Spinner while I am traveling in US because my trusted Samsonite companion for over 10 years of frequent traveling finally gave in. I went to Macy’s and the shopping assistant convinced me that this is the best money can buy. Anyway I continued my journey with a flight from Chicago to Flagstaff, and this supposedly good quality, top of the range luggage is all scratched and battered like it has seen years of travel. What a disappointing purchase. On top of it the telescopic handle does not work very smoothly either. I regret not following my initial plan to get a replacement Samsonite. I would love to get my money back, but no longer in Chicago, and I live in Europe.

they go the extra mil

Bought a bag when in the US from the official website. A handle broke a few months later and even though I am based here in the UK, they sorted out a pick up, repair and delivery -- all under warranty.

We have owned several Hartmann bags over the years and have always come to expect great service.

Great Job!

I like this hardcase "lite" series

I like this hardcase "lite" series. but the warranty system is horrible. They say it is under warranty, but when you go to the store for repair, if you don't have the invoice, they don't cover it, even if they say it has a lifetime warranty. At least I had an arrogant and not caring answer from the shop/repair service "Savinar" in washingtob bl. Los Angeles. (Hartmann is made and cared for by Samsonite.) I have two Hartmann luggage top series. and in both cases, we had problems with hinges and lockers. In both cases, it was faster and easier to buy the parts on eBay and change them myself.
