I was born in China but grew up in the U.S. Shen Yun did a fantastic job presenting China before communism, a splendid period that very few have seen. The beautiful legends and heroic characters reminded me of the good morales people in the past carried. I was moved to tears by the values manifest in the show. Very rare in today’s world. Great for families and anyone who’s into culture and history. (P.S. the CCP has for years tried to sabotage this performance. My advice is to take a grain of salt with the 1 star comments, as they’re likely paid to criticize this dance group. You gotta go check out the show yourself to decide. Don’t buy the CCP propaganda against Shen Yun.)

Shen Yun is the best show I’ve ever seen and experienced. The choreography is top notch-the costumes, the orchestra, and the animation in the backdrop all perfectly synchronized with dancers on the stage. The precision is incredible. The vibrant colors combined with the women dancers’ gentle yet strenuous movements as well as the men dancers’ powerful tumbling and flips are incomparable. I particularly liked their story telling. The performance is very inspiring. Highly recommend it to everyone!

Shen Yun was a deeply disappointing experience to me. They are masters of great advertising but the show reminded me of my high school plays . I much more enjoyed Chinese Children Acrobatics show in Disneyland than this cheaply made show. Waste of money. The tickets should be no more than $30 . Don't fall for their spectacular advertising campaigns. Scam

It's truly a unique show! One of a kind, and you must come and see it for yourself to appreciate it. It features lively and colorful dance performances accompanied by a live orchestra, which is so rare nowadays. The dance dramas are adapted from traditional Chinese culture to help modern audiences appreciate traditional values such as kindness, loyalty, courage, and faith. This show is perfect for anyone who treasures human traditions! Not to mention the highly skilled, expressive dancing and original musical accompaniment! I felt uplifted after seeing the show!

Shen Yun is high class, quality entertainment. Shen Yun is a show of many acts and each one feels like it would be the highlight of an entire story-based show of its own. The skills are superb, and nowhere will you see higher in terms of the sheer number of skilled dancers. Yet the show is also incredibly elaborate, charming, funny, richly costumed so that it is not about skill alone but an entire cultural experience like the great, old epic movies of the past and some large scale operas. You simply have to go if you haven't been yet. Plus, it is something you can take the whole family to, from little kids to grandparents. We've been taking our kids since they were about 6 and they still enjoy it as teenagers.

It was absolutely amazing!! Seen the show before, but it just gets better every time!
Astonishing dance, costumes, colors and music and just overall good for your soul!

Saw Shen Yun at Sydney Lyric Theaters with my uni friends this year. The venue was pretty great. We sat in the Dress Circle.
From a technical perspective, the dancers are all tremendously skillful and in sync. You can see hundreds of hours behind their flawless performance. There was one piece in which the actor change costume on stage in a matter of milisecond and this still blows my mind to this day. Wonderful.
On a cultural and aesthetic level, each pieces were very successful in communicating the beauty of traditional culture through the colourful costume and backdrop (utilised in such a harmonising way, you don't see this aesthetics much in theater nowadays, and I believe it speaks to the wonder of tradition and the wisdom of our ancestors that we tend to overlook).
On a spiritual level, the message was very positive. It's about light, love, and humanity. Very simple, but profound. My friend groups have a variety of background and religions, but we all feel uplifted after seeing it.
So, in other words, a wonderful night.

The backdrop, costumes and music were amazing. Dance pieces are short but powerful and very well put together. The cohesion between the dancers was mesmerizing

At the lowest point of my life, I walked into a Shen Yun performance. My mother's brain tumor had recurred, and during those days I was overwhelmed by grief, barely able to see any hope.
It was in the midst of this darkness that I saw Shen Yun. It is, without question, the greatest performance I have ever seen in my entire life. Every performer was incredibly professional — their movements were perfectly synchronized yet full of vitality. The entire show radiated a profound and powerful positive energy that is difficult to put into words. It was as though a ray of light pierced through the darkness in my heart and filled me with renewed strength.
After the show, I felt I had rediscovered the courage to face my difficulties. I was no longer drowning in sorrow. Instead, I carried the strength I received from Shen Yun and channeled it into giving my mother better care and companionship. This is a feeling that no other performance in the world has ever given me.
From the bottom of my heart, I am grateful to every performer, every crew member behind the scenes. You are not merely performing art — you are delivering something genuine and profound, a force that can truly heal the human soul. I offer my deepest, most sincere thanks to everyone who made Shen Yun possible. Thank you.

The dance performance was gorgeous, especially the blue peacock dance with the amazing 3D background screen—it was really impressive. The girls and boys are highly skilled, which shows how much effort they’ve put into their daily training.

Shen Yun is the finest world-class performance I have ever seen that showcases traditional Chinese culture.

Why does the Chinese Communist Party fear it so much, going to great lengths to stop it from being performed, even leaving so many one-star reviews here?

Because Shen Yun presents China as it was before communism, and reveals the brutal persecution of innocent Chinese people by the CCP. After watching it, people naturally come to understand what choices they should make.

This is a wonderful performance that I have ever seen.

The music, lighting, and choreography were perfectly synchronized, vibrant, and lifelike, creating an immersive and captivating atmosphere. Beyond its visual beauty, the show moved me deeply, conveying a powerful, uplifting energy that brought me to tears. Shen Yun is more than a performance — it is a truly masterful cultural and artistic experience.
