Ten stars!

If I could give these guys ten stars I would! I’m not exaggerating when I say, my life is different today because of Renee and David. I’ve been a long time follower, took several courses and applied them in my life. Their advice goes way deeper than your run of the mill surface advice you get most places today. Result? I’m about to celebrate a 3 year wedding anniversary so I guess you can call me a success story:) 1000% recommend!

I would not recommend ShenWadeMedia

I found Shen Wade Media (David Shen and Renee Wade, a husband and wife team) when I was going through a difficult break-up and looking for answers. I took a few of their online courses starting with Understanding Men.
Whilst I appreciate that there is some value in these courses - I for one had no idea that there was any differences between men and women - the persepective is told too much from the man's point of view. There is too much emphasis on looking after the man and not upsetting him rather than looking after and protecting yourself.

For example, ShenWade advises not sleeping with a man too soon, a recommedation I agree with. But the reasoning behind this is because the man might think less of you. The coach I found after ShenWade advised the same, but the reasoning was in order to protect yourself from getting attached and consequently hurt if things didn't work out. The same result, but one is man-focused the other self-protective.

D Shen promotes focusing on adding value to a man's life. For someone who has done nothing but that, always putting men and first and myself last, this was the last thing I needed to hear and it was ultimately unhelpful.

Lastly, I did join 2 ShenWade facebook groups, one for people who had purchased courses and another free one, to find that both were far from supportive environments. The amount of bitchiness on there was actually quite shocking. Women making fun of other women was common, as was always seeing the man's point of view over and above the woman's. Disappointingly, this was often led by D.Shen himself.

I do believe D.Shen and Renee are trying to help. But I do not agree with the way they go about it. The coaches I have worked with since are far more centred around women looking after themselves and female empowerment, rather than looking after men and catering to what works for them. For this reason I would not recommend ShenWade courses.
