Recent bad experience at tradeshow. Salesman tried to tell me that the wine maker was retiring and the wine was last in run. What a load of rubbish as I contacted the maker & they said this is not true!
Beware this companies staff at Trade Shows ply you with drink and then convince you to buy their product.
In truth what they say about sourcing from small vineyards is rubbish. We paid almost £30 per bottle for the same wine you can buy online for less than £15!!
I have family in Italy and they confirmed that what this company was selling as a "Premium Brand" was nothing more than could be purchased in any supermarket in Italy.
Don’t be duped by this company at fairs and events. I ordered following a trip to recent fair, all the talk and promise whilst on site but the reality is, champagne arrived fine, the next few cases arrived some 4 months later, when I state arrived, 2 battered boxes from DHL with 4 bottles missing…. Don’t waste your time or money with this company.
Encountered Shawbury Wines at Reigate Pub In The Park June ‘23. Terry, a fine chap, plied us with copious drinks and sold the services well. So well I bought a case of mixed wines. It would be with me within a week. 2 weeks later I enquired where it was. The Rosè I had chosen had been out of stock for a while and they did not know when it was arriving so they had stopped the other 10 bottles arriving. I countered with “why would I be sold an unavailable product?”. Terry emailed me “they have arrived they will be there in 4 days. Week later I enquired where it was. “Must be DHL’s fault”. I asked for my money back. Let’s see what happens.
Came across Shawbury at the Silverstone Classic and was tempted in for some wine tasting. I was impressed with the quality of German whites, hard to get decent quality range in UK, and bought a dozen bottles. The pricing is very competitive and delivery was quick. Happy, and confident, to recommend them to others.
Ordered a mixed case of red a rose wine at the game fair, was told wine was in stock and would be delivered by the end of the following week, nothing arrived.
I phone and was told that the red was not due in stock for over another week, and was told it would be delivered to me on the 15th/ 16th.
On the 16th I again called to enquire about my order to be told they would rush it out and I'd get it today, and as away of compensation they would add an extra bottle for our wait.
Today the wine did indeed arrive but minus the promised complementary bottle.
We won't be placing any further orders and on this experience we would not recommend this company.
A complete lack of communication and false promises.
We ordered a small case of wine at a recent event as a whim. Was told that they offer personal service and quick delivery. Over 2 weeks later, no wine and the so called personal contract sends non committal one line responses when asking when the delivery will be made.
Can’t get through to the main customer service number at all.
Don’t bother!!
Shawbury selects wines which have amazing taste often small run and good value for money considering the high quality if thier products.
Highly recommend over the other similar companies as a long standing client.
We had a home wine tasting with Daniel (West Midlands) and it was excellent! He was knowledgeable, friendly and all around absolutely lovely. We had a wonderful evening, and he gave us an amazing array of wines to taste which broadened our horizons. We look forward to buying from him and working with him in the future.
Our Corte dei Frati product is no longer present because the company shawbury.wine is not punctual in payments. Despite the requests, the customer does not respond. Do you think it does not even respond to the payment request from our lawyer. I advise against wine suppliers not to provide because taking the money will be a dream.
