Seven Seas are great at picking up manga that other bigger publishers won't touch, but unfortunately they have some of the worst localizers in the business. These localizers not only change large plot points but even go so far to change normal conversations within the manga so that the initial authors meaning is lost.
A good example of this is in the Yokai girls manga where there's a joke where Nia the catgirl can't say her name without saying Nyaa at the end (Japanese for a meow) so that other characters think her name is Nia-Nyaa. In the Seven seas version this conversation is completely edited to remove this joke. There's no attempt to translate the joke, it's just completely removed. A decade ago you would have had localizers translate the joke and add an explanation either to the last page in the manga or in the margins explaining the joke itself. What the current Seven seas localizers are doing is rewriting the original script to serve their own purposes. Sometime they even make politically motivated changes. It's lazy and not what the end product purchasers want since they buy the manga thinking they're reading the original authors intended story, but they're actually getting a butchered version.
Seven Seas needs to do better here or there's little reason for manga fans to support you as a business.
Sent you pre-order amount months before book released and still managed to screw up the publishing amount. What's the point of collecting our money and pre-orders if you can't even properly use those information. Left us without any updates for 3 MONTHS other than "We're looking for solutions". Never seen such disorganised company.
Publishing stuff like "JK HARU IS A SEX WORKER IN ANOTHER WORLD"
Are you kidding? Prostitution is a horrible thing and nowadays girls are being encouraged to use their body for money without realizing the dangers.
It's bad enough Seven Seas has terrible translation practices including removing entire parts of plot and altering language entirely sometimes to be demeaning language towards males.
Fantasic website just like manga and viz amazing choice to choose from
