Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the product, specifically the change from a white paste to a blue gel formula. Customers report that the new blue gel does not work as effectively for sensitivity relief, and some experienced increased tooth sensitivity and oral irritation. They also found the quality to be lower, noting issues with the gel's consistency, taste, and how it cleans teeth. Reviewers also expressed frustration with the company's customer service, feeling that their concerns about the formula change were not addressed. Many felt the price was too high for the perceived decrease in product quality. Some people were also dissatisfied with the user experience, citing a lack of warning about the formula change and the inconvenience of being stuck with multiple tubes of a product they no longer wished to use.

really disappointed with this formula…

really disappointed with this formula change but interested to see that i am far from alone with this view. been using it for years, not sure which one but it was the one with the purple on the box. loved it, white and gritty texture wise, had a nice taste and left my teeth feeling really clean. now, a kind of watered down feeling in blue, totally different texture. teeth don't feel as clean either. will be jumping ship and changing brands when i next buy toothpaste.

New formula doesn't work

After years of reduced sensitivity with sensodene repair and protect, the formula has changed and now i get pain a couple of times a day after a few days! I would say the change in formula is to make it cheaper for the company to manufacture but no regard to the fact it doesn't work. I now have to look for another make of toothpaste! Well done on driving your loyal customers away!

Crappy ineffective blue goo

I struggled with my teeth sensitivity and general mouth health for years until I started using Sensodyne repair and protect deep repair... It was expensive but it changed everything. I was going 100% happy to pay such a high price for this product because it worked. But now they've changed to the icky blue goo... not only is the taste nasty and the feeling of the stuff icky, it's also no longer effective. It is literally a different product, teeth are back to being sensitive, mouth ulcers have come back that I haven't had for years and I'm back to square one to find a new product that works. Just another company choosing money over quality, highly disappointing. You've lost another custome, Sensodyne.

Disappointed in the change

I have used Sensodyne Repair & Protect deep repair for as long as I can remember. It's the only toothpaste that has ever controlled my sensitivity, And I stuck with it for years because it actually worked.
Since the recent reformulation and change to the blue version, it's just not the same product. My sensitivity has come back which is horrible and the texture and feel are completely different. I've been told it's "the same," but it absolutely isn't that’s for sure.
It's really disappointing when a product you've relied on for years changes like this. I'll now be switching brands and taking my custom elsewhere.

I've used rapid relief whitening for decades and it worked. The new blue gel formula is terrible. It's far too sweet and runny. My very sensitive teeth have gone back to how they used to be so basically this new formula doesn't work.

No longer repairing or protecting

Recommended Repair & Protect by a periodontist a few years and it worked so well. Now the blue gel is really painful on the gums and my teeth feel like they haven’t been cleaned. Even bought another sensodyne toothpaste today in the hope that would be a white paste and that was blue too. So disappointed. Now on the hunt for another brand..

Awful New Blue Gel Formula

The new blue gel formula for Sensodyne Repair & Protect is awful, ineffective and expensive. It doesn't compare to the original formula.

New blue gel formula does not work for me !

Since they changed to the new blue gel formula like most reviewers here I am having problems with dreadful sensitivity of my teeth, for years the old white paste formula kept me protected and pain free, as soon as I switched to the new blue gloop I was in agony. Absolutely ridiculous thing to do, unless they change it back Sensodyne has lost me as a customer.

Sensodyne Pronamel Daily Protection new formula doesn't work

I have used this product for many years and it always resolved the issue I had with sensitive teeth. Unfortunately this is not the case with the "new formula" a blue gel as I am now suffering with sensitive teeth again. Please bring back the original white toothPaste as I have tried other brands but can't find another toothpaste that resolves the issue of my sensitive teeth like Sensodyne Pronamel Daily Protection did.

Way to lose customers

I used sensodyne for 10+ years, specifically the repair and protect proenamel. Why change it to a blue goo that is not as effective as the white, thick toothpaste products.

I will be using colgate from now on.

Eww Blue. They messed up the formula!

They changed the formula so much that it doesn't work anymore.

Horrible taste, less whitening effect, feels like it leaves no protection over teeth and teeth feel like they're actually now discolouring over time.

I feel cheated that I buy this in bulk and with absolutely no warning and no distinguishable difference to the packaging, I was buying a completely different product. For a premium price this feels like robbery to get what feels and results in what I experience with cheap toothpaste products.

New blue formula making teeth sensitive and gums sore

After many years using the white formula sensodyne repair & protect I started to get sensitive death and sore gums with this blue formula so I thought I would see if anyone else had same reaction and can see from the number of 1 star reviews that others have had same experience. I managed to find old stock but not sure what I am going to do when that runs out. Hopefully they change it back to the old formula.

So disappointed.

I used the new formula just once and that was enough for me. Immediately my teeth felt more sensitive. I bought it without realising the formula had changed. I have been using the old formula for years and if they are not going to have an alternative, I will have to buy a different brand.

Change of formula without notice a disaster.

Reordering my much loved and highly effective Sensodyne white paste toothpaste with the dark blue rectangle labelled 'deep repair' I receive an identical looking tube WITHOUT the deep repair label.
It is a horrid blue gloopy substance which does nothing. I tried Boots, after Amazon, and got the same blue gloop. I had to bully Amazon to get a refund.
THIS IS A COMPLETE CON.
