My experience with Sensible Surrogacy was great, especially at the beginning. There are so many options, and it can feel overwhelming—what is the best choice, how to decide, what are the international legal implications, unexpected costs, and how long everything will take.

When we spoke with Bill, he explained every option we had and all the implications. For me, that alone was worth every penny, because I didn’t have time to figure everything out on my own.

The surrogacy process is not perfect, but overall I’m very happy. We now have a healthy baby boy, and they were helpful throughout the entire process even if sometimes he was taking more time to respond

Stay away from him. Unprofessional, unreliable, and untrustworthy. Better go with a reputable agency with better care and support.

We had our own embryos stored in the US and wished to find a surrogate internationally. The first couple locations we were interested in did not accept our embryo. Bill worked with us in order to come up with another option, which also stalled, and we did not wish to wait longer to see if that country would open. Bill then suggested Ukraine, as he knew we really wanted to move forward. This worked out great for us and we have our son, thanks to Ukraine and Bill.

I highly recommend Bill and Sensible Surrogacy services. Going through the surrogacy process it takes a great team that is knowledgeable and communitive. Bill is very knowledgeable in this space and everytime I've reached out seeking guidance he has answered. Providing valuable information that helps in the decision-making process. These things are important and make for a better Surrogacy experience.

Bill was great. I really appreciated his efforts to keep our surrogacy on track. The overseas team was not as good at sending updates, and there were many times we weren’t sure what was happening with our surrogate. But in the end, the baby arrived right on time and we were able to come home in just a few weeks. So it’s hard to argue with success.

We worked with Sensible Surrogacy for our surrogacy journey in Mexico and could not have been happier - without the team we wouldn't be a family today. Can highly recommend.

Thanks so much to Bill for all his help with our surrogacy program. We decided that we wanted our baby to born in Mexico. There were so many agencies in various cities. It seemed like Bill knew all of them. After spending months getting to know us, he introduced us to the most amazing team in Puerto Vallarta. Then once we started, Bill checked in every few weeks just to see how we were doing and make sure the program was running smoothly. It was clear he really cared about us and our family! Now our daughter is nearly 12 months old! I can’t thank Bill and the team at Sensible enough for making this possible.

Sensible Surrogacy was the first-step in our Surrogacy Journey. We virtually met bill for an initial meeting where he explained the process etc. He was able to match us with an agency in Colombia (as we preferred Colombia for our Journey) and that is how our dream became reality. My husband and I became fathers of a wonderful healthy little girl. Throughout the Process, Bill was always there to answer our questions and concerns in a timely manner.

Since the very first start, Bill was receptive, communicative, interested in helping, hardworking... he showed me and my husband an example of really hard work.

Left us on seen for days. Call him, no response. Call him again, no response.

Two days went by. Call again, as much times as needed for him to respond.

He replies!! Bill:-...What do you want?

I'm speechless. First of all, that's no manner of treating a customer. Each time we tried to complain he interrupted us, justified himself in the rudest way, and when we bring the topic of the money that we paid with no service recieved, he literally hung up.

I really think everyday that I should've recorded the call, because not long after he acted like nothing happend.

Really feel like this man is a straight up psycopath.
I really want to see what's his response, what kind of gaslighting will he use, i'm just prepared and mentalized to read every type of lies.

I'm not even the type of guy that makes reviews but this situation was just unincredible, i'm still processing that everything that's happend is even real. Just surrealist.
Might aswell let you know that there's a Lawsuit on the way Bill, I'm doing as much as I can to take you out of this business FOR EVER, because you deserve it.

Sensible worked with me for over a year even before my surrogacy program even started, and they never asked for anything. I’m astonished how helpful they were. They answered every question, and they made sure I understood every detail of how the process worked. When I was finally ready, they introduced a great local team who made it seem so easy. If I had a question along the way, Sensible was always ready with exactly the information I needed. Thanks to Sensible I’m now the father of a beautiful baby boy!

Bill, it was you who explained your “services” to us during our initial consultation.

In fact, the only person we ever spoke to was you- which is why I suspect you are a one man operation which was further made obvious by the multiple weeks you went MIA and no one else was available to assist “in your absence”.

You were not “glad to provide a full refund”, you attempted to hold our money hostage by asking my husband to change his review to a false narrative, essentially asking us to lie.

Our refund was only returned to us after going to the BBB and reporting fraud to our credit card company and proving that you did not provide services and refused to respond further after we refused to lie in a review.
1) It is not common practice for a DOCTOR to clearly photoshop their face over someone else’s body in an obvious manner. It is one of you Mexico clinics you suggested.

2) I did speak with a US attorney with direct experience in ART and international law, which is why she was able to share her experience with her clients with us. She is based in Burbank, California and as I hope you would know, since you claim to be a surrogacy expert in the field- Los Angeles is a huge hub in international reproduction. I have worked in IVF clinics and am a nurse, so I am very familiar with these facts.

3) You NEVER disclosed your location to us. No one looked for your home address, and by what it cost us- was the $6000 charge we had to fight to get back once we realized your operation was not what it claimed to be, with poor customer service, especially in response times that took over two weeks at a VERY critical time during our then journey because of the initial clinics refusal to use a very viable embryo.
Additionally, the whole point of THIS fact is that you claim everywhere online that you are located in Las Vegas, NV. That still holds true on your website and ANY place online looking for your “business location”. Pretending to be in the USA and really being located in SPAIN, is obvious fraud- and if you or anyone reading this doesn’t think so… RED FLAG.

4) You do not prefer CC payments. As you know, we accidentally were made aware that another couple used your service and they claimed the same thing we encountered- “OH YES, WE TAKE CREDIT CARDS”!! ---- OH NO, OUR CREDIT CARD INTAKE ISN’T WORKING!!! PLEASE SEND A WIRE. Once is a misfortune, twice is not a coincidence- especially almost years apart.

5) Yes, again- a middleman who directs people to your friends that you had your children with- and charge them $6000 for an introduction. SCAM.

6) You need to update your knowledge on a US surrogacy journey, because that is in NO WAY the cost of an agency in Nevada. We had matches in Nevada and in Los Angeles and neither of those spans are what we were charged or quoted, especially not in Nevada. Closer to LA, but still FAR over what we paid in Los Angeles.

So, thank you for clarifying, and allowing me to write a book in response to correct the word games that you love to play to make yourself appear righteous.

Whether we were a one-off and you have never had these issues with other families, or not- You did us wrong, and it looks better and more professional for you to admit it, than it is to continue to flip things around to make yourself look good.

Be a man- apologize, own up to it, and promise to do better in the future. Anyone willing to pay you $6000 for an intro, deserves that.

Also worth noting, when I logged into my Trust Pilot account to respond to you, I was met with this warning about Sensible:
This company has been displaying Trustpilot content incorrectly.

This could look like showing an inaccurate star rating in sales materials, displaying reviews they’re not permitted to use on their site, and more.

PSA prospective parents- If anything goes wrong in your journey with Bill, this is what you can expect, long pages of attempting to justify his stance, with zero action and no accountability.

He put us in touch with a surrogacy company in Colombia, but when that surrogacy refused to attempt implantation of one of my wife’s genetically normal but low quality embryos, we asked to be set up with another clinic. At that point he stopped responding to emails and did not return phone calls. There were issues along the way that seemed scammy. Despite displaying credit card logos on his emails, he asked us to wire funds to his account. He claimed his POS was not working. We discovered he had other people do this as well. He was able to provide credit card services eventually once we pressed him that we simply didn’t have time to walk into a branch office nor were we comfortable sending money without insurance. After weeks of no responses, and an unfulfilled contract, we reported to Better Business Bureau for investigation.

After a few failing attempts to have a baby with my ex-wife, I am in the very beginning of my demanding surrogacy journey. While researching all possible options for the self-managed surrogacy program, I was impressed with the Sensible Surrogacy site which contains a plethora of information for intended parents. I had my first one-hour Skype conversation with its founder Bill Houghton who thoroughly described all - actually very few - options available (in my case – to a single parent), and provided me with a down-to-earth plan with approximate financial costs overseas (for many, the process is almost unaffordable in the US). He pointed out at the legal procedures and offered the solutions.
Now we are in constant touch and Bill continues to advise me on my choices, he replies very fast. I can already see that the motivation for this honest, responsible and knowledgeable expert is not the money, but helping to make your dream (son or daughter) come true as soon as possible - almost like a stork from Hans Christian Andersen's tale who delivers babies to deserving families! I know for sure that in terms of consultancy I’ll be working with Bill and his Sensible Surrogacy agency.

Sensible Surrogacy is really a great agency. The whole process went really smoothly and having Bill as a consultant throughout the way provided us with a lot of insights and assurance. We highly recommend getting in touch with Bill for any intended parents who are considering surrogacy.

My husband and I began a surrogacy process in the United States and when we realised how expensive it could get, we explored other options. We found Bill/Sensible Surrogacy via Google Search and reached out. Bill was very responsive and knowledgable on the topic. As an affordable alternative, he connected us with a surrogacy program in Colombia. 18 months later, we had a beautiful and healthy daughter at about 1/3 of the cost if we had done it in the U.S. There were some cultural differences and communication challenges working with Colombia but, at the end of the day, we got exactly what we wanted from the program.

My wife and I feel deeply disappointed with this surrogacy agency. Nothing was clear from the beginning. They asked us for certain specific documents and they gave us a closed price. When we submitted the documents. Bill, who is in charge of this one-man business, said that since he found out that I had a disability, he was reluctant to accept us in the program. According to doctors, my disability is completely compatible with parenthood and my wife has no disability at all. We felt discriminated and mistreated. Respect and dignity is not a word in Sensible surrogacy's dictionary. This one-man surrogacy business might look cheaper than other options but I think it is worthy to try with other a bit more expensive agencies and get all the respect that as a customer we deserve.

I couldn't have been happier with Sensible Surrogacy. Bill and Trish were both wonderful throughout the entire process--basically holding our hands through each step. My husband and I are so grateful for their significant time and effort and now have a beautiful four month old son because of it. I would recommend them without hesitation.
