The sense of camaraderie within this…
The sense of camaraderie within this community is truly remarkable.
Their commitment to sustaining digital photography and providing avenues for photographers to monetize their craft is admirable.
I'm confident they're making significant strides, and I'm eagerly anticipating the evolution of this endeavor.
Having observed their progress and learned about their upcoming initiatives, I'm genuinely enthused about the positive impact they'll have on the community.
The Perfect Tool for Photographer in 2024
I'll be honest, as a photographer myself, I've lived through the era of selling digital copies on online galleries, but nothing comes close to the convenience of selling one-of-a-kind photographs with digital imprints on a decentralized basis.
Speaking of decentralized basis, Seed.photo excels in how they can tokenize an artwork in the native format. While traditionally an artist would prefer to retain the RAW file for copyright protection, having it tokenized imprints the artist's name as the creator, along with the record of collectors who appreciate the artist's masterpiece. Keeping tabs on how the legacy continues.
With the current bull run on the crypto market and the real-world asset (RWA) narratives, the awareness of physical assets and digitalized assets arises. More photographers should become aware of the potential of the web3 ecosystem and extend the reach of their artwork by utilizing the available resources in this web3 era.
If you happen to be a photographer excited to adapt this technology but find it hard to transition, I find the Seed.photo community is especially useful in helping you with the tokenization of your artwork - a very constructive community that welcomes everyone. Do not hesitate to reach the admins and moderators as they'll be very happy to assist you in adapting to the Web3 environment.

This website / company is a SCAM
They post fictitious jobs on Linkedin offering photographers $1,500 a day photographing for their clients all over the world, all travel and expenses paid... Then they send you an email saying you have been 'shortlisted' and all you need to do is mint 5 photos, after which you will have a video meeting with them. Total BS. In the same email they are even promoting a photography competition, which you need to pay to enter! If you applied for a photographer job at Amazon or ebay, say, would you expect them to say 'We love your work but in order to get through to the next stage you just need to set up a seller account, take some photos of products and put them up for sale' ? Totally underhanded and unscrupulous behaviour. But with such a good offer, and considering the job had been advertised on a reputable website, I felt I had to at least try, especially as they claim it costs you nothing. But they never reply to any emails, they just keep sending me variations of the same email saying I have been shortlisted and to mint some photos.... Just a sneaky way of getting free publicity and to get photographers signed up and pay to enter their competition. They don't reply to support emails either.
What they claim is their USP is a very bad idea; which is to include your raw files as part of the NFTs. They falsely claim that your work is protected because you have minted it and it acts like some sort of super-duper copyright with magical powers, but that is not correct. The NFT itself is protected, but if you include the raw file (or even a high res jpeg file for that matter) what is to stop the buyer making prints and selling them in China, say? Or messing around with the raw file and then selling retouched variations of it? So your work is not protected at all, just the NFT itself, and there is a huge difference. It is therefore a false claim, and I wouldn't advise anyone to include a raw file.
It is important for seed.photo to understand how copyright actually works. Copyright is IMMEDIATELY assigned to the photographer the second he or she takes the photograph. To say or imply that turning a photograph into an NFT and minting it either creates or enhances the copyright of the photograph is therefore false and misleading. In order to enforce your copyright you just need to prove that you are the one that took it, and this could be through showing other photos from the same series, raw files, exif data, negatives, communication with the model or client etc.
The website itself also appears to be a scam. It's written in very poor English and the 'instructions' are similar in style to the ones you get when you buy a cheap Chinese product. The explanatory videos don't have any spoken or written narration and explain nothing, so when you mint something, some people may be conned into giving away a big chunk of their royalties (if they ever sell anything) for supposed promotion. The website is riddled with technical issues and support is non-existent. The wallet keeps disconnecting and sometimes impossible to connect to for days on end. You have to pay to mint each photo, but you get a seed token which supposedly you can then recredit to your wallet so they claim it costs you nothing to mint. However when you try to credit the tokens, you get a big warning from Metawallet saying this could be used for Phishing... I went ahead anyway but the credits do not transfer to the wallet, despite multiple attempts over several days. This could be yet another bug and perhaps they will fix it with time, but considering the job posting appears to be fictitious and a total scam, it doesn't inspire much confidence or trust in anything about this website. It is a shame because the concept itself, aside from including raw files, is good, and had they been honest with photographers instead of trying to lure them with false job postings and copyright protection claims, they would have received helpful feedback to improve their website and obtained recommendations to others. However, due to the underhanded way in which they have conducted themselves, I simply do not trust them one iota.
