SCAMMERS
SCAMMERS! BEWARE!!
Please do your research when dealing with this hotel and booking through third party agencies especially Agoda!
I booked a room with Agoda for a one night stay at the Jameson Inn hotel in Brunswick GA. Have emails with confirmation and authorization of payment from my Wyndham credit card. The owner of the hotel, Raj Patel checked me into the room sometime after 2PM.
Around 6 PM I get woken up by loud banging and screaming at my door. Some lady was yelling I needed to leave now because I didn’t pay. I initially thought it was some stranger trying to lure me out of the hotel room. She threatened to call the cops because I told her I wasn’t leaving the room until I checked with the credit card company. After confirming they received authorization for payment, I went to the front desk and immediately the general manager Roxie Sorrells demands that I need to leave the property. She refused to rectify the situation or show proof of her false claims about my card getting declined. She called 911 and made another false claim that I was threatening her. Three cops showed up to kick me out of the room that I had already paid for and treated me like some criminal. The cop even heard that the payment had gone through with the credit card company and made a comment “she jumped the gun about payment.” He also mentioned he’s had to deal with Roxie before. After doing further research, Roxie Sorrells has a shady past herself. She’s been hopping from hotel to hotel as a general manager and has been evicted from places for not paying her rent. She’s been with this hotel a year and definitely doing some shady business . I will be taking legal action because of this fraudulent scheme they did to me.
Please don’t bring your families to this hotel, It’s not safe!
As explained by others
As explained by others, the so called "Best Price Guarantee" is inexistent. I have booked several times with them, and remember that once they mentioned that I should have booked directly with them, as it would be cheaper.
I recommend to always search in the official channels where you want to stay, as it is very possible that the tariff will be better, and you don't deal with Agoda, who claims it has a "Best Price Guarantee", that they just refuse to grant.
AGODA IS A SCAM!
For those people reading this, AVOID this company at all cost! They won't honor 'Best Price Guarantee' that they constantly market and advertise for the company if you found a rate lower than what they're offering! They repeatedly requested a lot of information from me - hotel name, type of room, inclusions, number of guests, website link, screenshots etc. to which I diligently provided and yet they replied that the info isn't enough and they won't honor the rate. WHAT A SCAM!
Cancelled Flight
My Vietjet flight that I booked on Agoda was cancelled but I wasnt informed about it. Checked Agoda the night before and the status of the flight was confirmed, and was so all the way until I reached the airport. Found out about the flight cancellation only when I was trying to check in.

I searched for accommodation in Vancouver Canada - while I was IN Canada. I needed a room with two beds for two people. I chose Agoda as they advertised the best price for the chosen property. Once I processed the transaction, my credit card company advised me of an international transaction in USD. I booked this stay while in Canada, for a Canadian property and with a Canadian credit card. Regardless, the transaction was quoted in USD - with no indication that it was not in local currency. Additionally, the booking confirmation was for a single room and for a single occupant! When reaching out to Agoda, they said their policy is strictly no refunds and no changes regardless of the circumstances. After many fruitless attempts at communication with Agoda, I was finally able to sort something out with the hotel directly. What a stressful and unnecessary experience. DO NOT USE!

I used Agoda thinking they had the lowest prices for rooms. Many other hotel apps have the same low price or lower. They make it difficult to contact a live person. Once you do contact them they don’t get back to you in a reasonable time. The way they display the offered price for the room is confusing. They cancel your reservation without tryluky contacting you. They contact you while you’re traveling. Stick to using the companies you can call and get a live person quickly.
