Really disappointed to be having to give this rather negative review...

I was in need of a new jack and if there's one tool you don't want to skimp on it's a jack so I opted for a Sealey 2501LE as whilst it might've looked similar to many of the other often-brandless jacks out there I had confidence in the Sealey brand.

Unfortunately on first use I was struck by how slowly the jack retracted as whilst it was fitted with a 'slow release mechanism' it was taking the best part of a minute to lower the car! I took a video and to Sealey's credit once they'd seen this they confirmed it was faulty without much hesitation and arranged a replacement.

The replacement worked fine but a few months later I discover (not through Sealey I hasten to add despite registering it with them - the tip-off came from a friend!) there's been a product recall for this jack and I got this confirmed by Sealey and they arranged for it to be collected and repaired.

I duly packed it up in the original box and packaging, had it collected and a few days later it was back with me. Great! However, my original box and packaging hadn't been used for the return journey - the jack and two-piece handle had instead all been put loose into a different box with a bit of scrunched up paper for, well, I don't know actually. This thing weighs over 30kg - some scrunched up paper won't do anything! Needless to say the inevitable movement and likely repeated upending it endured in transit meant that some parts of the handles got scratched up and foam padding indented. Sure, just cosmetic damage really but I like to care for my tools and hoped Sealey would've done so too. If they'd used the original packaging - which they obviously deem necessary for retail delivery - why didn't they do so for the return?

So, all in all, it's been a bit of a disappointing purchase if I'm honest. Perhaps my expectations were too high but I really thought Sealey would've been a cut above the rest. I'm sure they used to be.

Update: Now that the dust has settled I've added on a star as on reflection the prompt and friendly service from the staff has been really good, and whilst the packaging problem was an unnecessary distraction it really has been the product quality side of things that has been the main issue for me.

Sturdy tools and value for money with an excellent choice

Various tools I own with sealey, from impact drives, socket sets, drills, torches. All items are brilliant!

Sealey to me have always been a reputable brand. By that, I mean that they offer some of the best tool quality, but not only that, for a very reasonable price.

I use my tools semi-professionally and also for DIY. They are very well made, extremely robust and last a long time. I can trust them to do any job I may undertake.

I am such a big fan of the Sealey brand that I recommend them to anyone for any job. Their tools are priced in brackets so you can purchase an amateur DIY tool, or a professional level tool, without the quality differing by any noticeable measure.

I will continue to recommend Sealey products to anyone.

Have a Sealey rechargeable flood light which I mislaid the charger for. Contacted Sealey , (David in Tech. Support), who supplied a replacement the very next day. Most of my engineers tools are Sealey and not only are they good quality at a sensible price, but the companies after sales service is amongst the best I have ever encountered.

Purchased a sealey SDS drill which developed a fault.

With any purchase the test of a great product is the support when things are not as they should be.

Sealey support were fantastic and dispatched a replacement unit within 24 hours.

Excellent fast service and the new replacement drill is great.

Best products for mechanics and house works.

I quite like Sealey tools, they're inexpensive and good quality. I have a range of different tools from 12v CPxxxx range, ratchets, sockets, extensions, trolley jacks, magnetic pickup tools, worklamps, the list goes on.

All perform well and haven't ever let me down.

Purchased a pressure brake bleeder. Item arrived in appropriate packaging together with all additional items to use bleeder.
Used it on a VW van and completed a full fluid replacement without any issues.
Very pleased with quality and operation of bleeder.

Absolute quality at an affordable price. Spent time looking on-line at many inferior products. Saw this 3-in-1 sack trolley in local shop. Quality immediately obvious.

Product lives up to its expectations being robust and well constructed.

BT2020 battery monitor with vehicle location. So far so good with this great little device for checking the batteries state of charge. I run a fridge/freezer in my LR & I don't want to be stuck with a flat battery so I use this to tell me when I need to switch the fridge off to save enough power to start the vehicle. Have not had to use the vehicle finder in ernest but I can see it works.

Excellent company, amazing tools and cheap too when you take into account the lifetime warranty on most in the Premier range

purchased an LED flood light, which was found to be faulty/ wrong when it arrived. emailed sealey and explained the issue and a replacement was sent to me the next day.

I am a regular DIY'r and home mechanic and I like to buy tools from trusted brands that provide good value and good quality and Sealey is my go to brand as the pricing and quality is just right without having to spend a fortune.
