Poor Inventory management

I received part of my order, but two pieces were missing even though I was charged for the full order. I contacted the company and they advised those two pieces were out of stock. They offered to exchange for another product or to issue a refund, but my two star review is because those items are still listed on their website as available. They should update their available inventory on their website so people aren't ordering products that are out of stock.

Pledged their Gale V2 jacket on Kickstarter

This is not the first time I bought something from Seadon. The last time before that was in October 2025. I received an email from them, stating that two of the items that I ordered were sold out, even though I was able to order them on their Shopify website.

Satisfied with the clothing that I had nonetheless received, I pledged their Gale V2 jacket on Kickstarter and was met with disappointment FOUR months later. The original plan was that they would send out the jacket at the beginning of December 2025 and we would receive it before Christmas (Guaranteed Delivery Before Christmas — or You’ll Get a Full Refund). I filled out the survey I received a week later than expected, but still in time, because I was waiting for Carson to provide information on the sizing. This slight delay was the catalyst that did not inspire confidence in the campaign.

On the 18th of December, we received a new status update on jackets shipped to the EU. Seadon's EU fulfillment system could not be reconnected in time, so people in the EU would receive their jackets after Christmas. Carson mentioned that they did not receive any response or confirmation for over a week.

Now onto update #9, four days later. We finally receive the news that EU orders are expected to be delivered in early January. When people in the comments section were asking where their jackets were, they received no reply from Carson. Update #10 is posted nearly two months later, on the 2nd of February 2026. Among other things, Carson promises to "plan more frequent public updates during fulfillment". On the 14th of February I still had not received anything and I sent them a message on Kickstarter asking where my shipment is. Half a month after my message, on the 1st of March, Carson provides us a dedicated email for support.

So what happened when I sent them an email there, after neither having received any response nor the jacket? They "under-forecasted certain colors and sizes", and after nearly four months of waiting I discover that my size L navy jacket was NEVER shipped. Remembering my previous experience with them, I ask them why their website still states the jacket in my size and preferred colour was still in stock and could be added to the shopping cart. Their reply: "We also recently experienced a website issue where some out-of-stock items were not updating in real time". You cannot tell me this is a recent issue, when five months ago the same problem was still occuring. All in all, this has been an enlightening experience and I will be sure to never spend my money on Seadon products again.

Wonderful travel staples

Their products are wonderful—travel staples for me. My family is now receiving their products as gifts, and are thrilled with them. The merino wool shirts are top-notch. When there was a problem with an order, customer service worked diligently to resolve it for me. Very satisfied customer.

I've backed three Kickstarters so far with Seadon and have been thrilled with all three. Communication is great and the rare issue is handled quickly and professionally, couldn't ask for better resolutions. I've got my family sporting Seadon gear now too and they all rave about it.

Dishonest retailer

Dishonest retailer

They show a 35 day return policy before you buy. However if you try to return a product they send you a different policy stating that they don't take sale items back. This is counter to whats on their website, the product page, and the checkout page, which all list a 35 day return period with no callouts about return exceptions

Seadon's quality and the positive help and feedback from the service crew

A quick note to say that I am very satisfied with the quality of the gear I have received from Seadon so far; they put great detail into the design, quality, and craftsmanship. Very happy about my EXP pants!

I have looked into many other things in the past months, and they have delivered quite comfortable, durable, and nice gear (very lightweight and a nice touch).

I had some interactions with the service crew, and they have resolved quite nicely, and to the best of their abilities, the little quirks that have happened along.

Overall, great job all around! Seadon has secured a loyal customer. Keep up the great work :).

I ordered the wrong size by accident

I ordered the wrong size by accident. The customer service people made it easy to exchange. They kept in touch in a timely manner and I feel they did everything to help me get the correct size. The shirt is of wonderful quality. I will definitely order from this company again.

I ordered 2 merino wool shirts

I ordered 2 merino wool shirts. As I put one on for the 1st time after washing my finger immediately went through the wool in the middle of the shirt. I immediately contacted Seadon with a photo of the hole and requested a replacement as their warranty states that they would if it was a quality issue. They only offered me a $20 discount off another purchase. I told them this wasn’t logical to purchase another shirt with a discount because the 1st one failed in quality. Their failed customer service in providing a replacement for failed quality is a huge disappointment.

New Seadon super fan!

I love the feel of this clothing and I am so excited to take it to Alaska with me, making it easy to lack light. I received part of the order in a forest shipment. Reviews has said that things ran small but I found that they were true to size. Because there was an item that was out of stock, I replied to an email to ask if I could adjust the sizes. They worked with me and it was SO easy to make the changes. Items shipped quickly, product is amazing and communication was perfect. I’m so impressed!

BUYER BEWARE!

Wow, I am happy for fellow reviewers who had a positive experience with customer service and this company. But that was not my experience. I attempted to buy two women's tops. A week after purchasing I hadn't heard anything about my purchase. So I reached out via email. The company responded that the items I had ordered were out of stock and I could purchase something else from their inventory instead. There was nothing else that I wanted so I asked for a refund. SILENCE, no response. I attempted more follow up emails to no avail. There is no phone number and customer service for actual help. I ended up submitting a dispute with my credit card company and they reimbursed me and handled the problem for me. Very poor business practice!

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service! I also love the product! I ordered two shirts. When one of the shirts I ordered suddenly became unavailable in my size, they personally reached out to let me know and to offer an alternative. They worked with me to then order another shirt for my husband instead since I loved mine so much. Shipping was quick. Communication was excellent.

Communicative and Reliable Customer Service

Despite a slight error in shipping, the customer service representative actually reached out to me first and has informed me of the situation. After, the representative decided to tackle the situation by pushing my order to be sent out to the right address and continuously informed me of updates along the way. Finally, leading to the arrival of my order.

Truly a wonderful team that cares about their customers and will always answer questions that the individual may have.

I will not hesitate to make purchases again!

Additionally, the quality of the shirt is well above average and fits well. For anyone purchasing Merino wool, this is a great site to check out.

Scam, don’t buy from them

I would give negative star if possible. I have been waiting for over a month for my money to be returned to me. They have the product returned. This was after it took weeks to get a hold of anyone for return instruction. I wouldn’t trust them.
Likely a bit of a scam company.

Updated: followed through on their promise; Hands down WORST customer service

I have been in contact with Seadon about arranging an exchange for a product. It was unclear that no exchanges were allowed on the items I purchased. After spending over $300 on their products I asked for a one time exchange (same price, one size larger).

It has taken over 1 month with weeks of no response, then an agreement to send a return label, then silence...
1) I request an exchange on Mar 22nd
2) Mar 24 I am told by Jen that she will talk with Carson (owner?)
3) two more messages from me and finally a response on Apr 1 that they'll do the exchange, just need pics with the tags on showing they're unworn. Which I provide on Apr 2 then remind on the 4th, 7th, 9th, AND 10th
4) finally Jen responds with the shipping cost on Apr 11th ($24). Same day I respond agreeing and ask for the shipping label
5) my responses on the 11th, 14th, and 15th have not been addressed

Literally the absolutely WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I've ever dealt with. They've lost a customer and I will no longer be recommending them to friends.

Update: Seadon did follow through on their word and have reached out to me via email with shipping information the same day.

I wish I had read these reviews before…

I wish I had read these reviews before ordering 3 shirts for $200 that I will not be able to use, cannot return, and cannot even work with them in any way because (as the other reviews note) their customer service is extremely rude. It's not worth the battle, just a $200 lesson learned about a terrible company with a dishonest product (they sent me small-for-size, extremely thin, tight base layers that you would never wear without something over them like a sweater). I may eventually have a use for that, but do not presently have any plans for which another base layer would be useful. These were advertised as stand-alone shirts to wear as regular clothing.
