Pleasantly Surprised

Was a bit skeptical based on some of the poor reviews, however, I was pleasantly surprised when my order arrived. I ordered some very small parts that were so small they were flagged for tolerance (wall thickness), but asked sculpteo to print them anyways, and they surprisingly did. The parts were rhodium plated brass, so they took a few weeks to arrive. The parts arrived ahead of estimated delivery time and were wonderful quality, and the specifications were exactly to the design I submitted. Surprisingly great experience, would highly recommend.

I used Sculpteo's lost wax casting…

I used Sculpteo's lost wax casting service to print a custom pair of earrings. I ended up going with Sculpteo over Shapeways since they offered a quicker lead time and faster shipping for free.

Some of the negative reviews regarding quality and time were concerning but I received the print sooner than expected and looked better than I could have ever hoped. All I can say is I'm impressed.

4 stars only because there was virtually no communication regarding production so it left me somewhat unsure if my print would be finished in time.

Bear in mind that this was just my experience and not all prints will turn out perfectly. Optimization is required but both Shapeways and Sculpteo have tools that allow you to check the fragility of your mesh.

Customer Service? Where?

Been a customer for over a year. Submitted my assembly with no notifications or issues with their solidity check. A few days go by and I receive a notice of an issue with the thickness in one spot. They tell me I can cancel and resubmit everything, which I do. They then charge me for two of the three parts because they claim they were already made and cooling. Meantime, the dashboard shows production issues on their end for the two other parts that are fine.
I try to make it easy and tell them to cancel the order, but they refuse. I point out that every other 3D printing service would've paused production of all pieces especially since I opted for a redesign. They tell me they can't do that when hundreds of parts are in a queue.
So now I've got two parts (x4) of an assembly that are completely useless and won't fit the primary component. And are still charging me. So they lose a yearlong loyal customer over $65 (after well over $1k has been spent plus future orders).
Never again.
Avoid these guys. Never again.

Late delivery and poor accountability

Sculpteo's estimated ship date was 3 days from when I placed the order. 7 days after I placed the order, they send me an email that says that part of my order was being shipped. I reached out to say that the parts were arriving way too late and that I wanted a refund. They refused to refund me even after they acknowledged they made a mistake. After several emails, they finally said they would provide a partial refund. But, at that point, none of the parts were useful (I had to order from another local vendor). At this point, after years of using Sculpteo, I probably never will use them again and would NOT recommend anyone from using them. I suggest you find someone else to print with.

Extremely terrible support

Extremely terrible support. This customer support dude doesn't want to provide FTA clearance forms. He wants me to ask local UPS to contact UPS France and this has caused me having to pay storage fees to local UPS. Absolutely terrible and highly unrecommended and unprofessional. I don't think I can even get assigned a different individual for my requests.

Over promises under delivers them takes…

Over promises under delivers them takes way to long to provide a refund (2 to 3 weeks in todays world is unacceptable)

Based on the ordering process (including full payment up front) and the initial suggestions that everything about your model is satisfactory (the pretty 3d graphic analysis showing bright green as in all good) combined with a message three days after submittal saying your model is “blocked” in big red letters that provides absolutely no explanation. Then another few days and a cryptic email about apologizing for how your model didn’t work out offering to sell you a book on how to do 3d printed models with a subsequent email that finally appears to be written by a person offering you 3 choices on how to proceed with your model which is apparently subject to thermal warping during printing (no mention from the pretty 3d analysis model shown to you before payment) - then after indicating to cancel and refund somehow that process takes 15 to 21 days….

The computer analysis of the model should not be falsely represented as green when in fact it appears the analysis is done later by someone else - if further analysis is to occur this should be represented in the ordering process

Payment and refunds should be done through a system that is instantaneous.

Disappointed - will not return.

Easy to use website, terrible customer service

I agree with the other negative reviews, the customer service was useless. I needed some quick prototyping for cardboard packaging. The cardboard flute direction is crucial to ensure the strength of the packaging.

I uploaded the design and resized. Nice and easy, but the flute direction wasn’t specified on the website.

So I emailed customer service right after ordering, and attached an image of the direction of the flute I needed. There was a quick response but the customer service team didn’t understand so I clarified.

The order arrived very quickly, however upon opening the packaging it turns out the flute direction is wrong, making the prototype useless.

I contacted customer service and they offered to refund the shipping. However their excuse was “they never understood the flute direction”. They are on “customer service” and are not “technicians”. Isn’t the point of customer service to communicate with operations to get answers?

Just wasted 80 euros on good cardboard that has come from France and has ended up in a UK recycling bin.

I’ve given 2 stars as the website was actually easy to use (despite lacking in information), and the operational side managed to get the cardboard cut quickly and delivered fast. If the customer service team was actually useful, despite the item being wrong I would have given 4….

Very good service

I used the lasercut service. Very good result, customer service replied in a few hours at my emails. I don't like the minimum order and the high shipping costs, but the service is very good and quality.

Avoid Sculpteo - they waste your time

I started out printing some parts with Sculpteo and at first they did a good job. However, after a short while they started acting very strange. I ordered a model that had 2 separate parts. Their team sent me a message that one of the parts was too thin, although their solidity check showed that it's fine. After I modified the model to their minimum thickness they again sent me an e-mail that the model was too thin. But it was way thicker than their minimum! Weeks were rolling on and time was wasted. We modified the model again to make it thicker, but after a week or so Sculpteo again sent a message that the model had to be thicker. We were quickly going from a zebra to an elephant! Finally after wasting a month of my time they sent an e-mail saying they can't make the model at all and will refund the money. Money was refunded. But my time they wasted could not be refunded! The other part of the same model I had ordered seemed to be ok. They didn't complain...but after 2 months it was still not made and nobody said anything to me. I sent an e-mail telling them to cancel the order and return the money because too much time had passed. We already ordered the same model from another company and they made it without any problem. Sculpteo ignored my message about cancelling the order and returning money. I called on the phone but nobody answered. I left a message to cancel the order and return money. My message was ignored. A few days later I called again. This time talked to one of the reps and they said will cancel the order and return money. Still waiting for the money. This company does make good quality models but their customer service sucks as they don't care about people. Their 3D printers are either no good or operated by incompetent workers. Otherwise why another company is able to manufacture exactly the same model that's even thinner? And these guys just keep telling you to make it thicker and thicker. Save yourself the frustration and AVOID Sculpteo!

Poor customer service, poor product

I received an incorrect total of parts from a simple laser cut MDF order. Initially things looked promising as they sent replacement parts, but sadly these replacement parts were also incorrect.

After much back and forth they asked me to return all the parts and did not offer to rectify the problem.

Asked to complain about the experience only to be told 'I don't known how or where to submit a complaint about your experience. Sorry to not able to help you about that.'

Avoid if possible.

Poor quality, bad advice

Customer support was responsive, but incompetent. I contacted them initially asking for advice on what material to use for a tabletop gaming miniature print. I stressed that fine detail was critical for this project. Their support advised the use of their multi-jet fusion material, with a DyeMansion finish. The product I received had lost not only all the fine details, but even basic details such as the nose and mouth.

Add to this that their online system to track the progress of the project did not work, and the whole experience was miserable. Waiting for weeks in the dark to finally get a product that fails to meet any of its requirements. Try somewhere else.

Avoid! They sent a broken product. No refund!

I wanted to 3d print a cat.
I received the model with the back right leg broken!
They put the leg broken in a separated bag.
They have a software to check the solidity of the model before printing and the leg was perfectly fine to print.
I contacted the support and they said I just need to accept it, i can try to stick the leg with glue and they close the ticket!
My guess is they know how bad is their 3d printing and they just want to take your money and send you whatever they print.
Avoid them, waste of time and money!

Was Sent Defect Parts. No Refunds.

When stuff works they're good.

When things go wrong, expect to be sent defect parts, 3 weeks past their due date, have to deal with poor quality support staff, and forget about getting any sort of refund.

Why would you send a customer a part that hasn't finished printing?

I waited over 6 weeks for a part made …

I waited over 6 weeks for a part made via BJ3D. The part was suppose to be in my hands in a month. After inquires, Sculpteo said they were having trouble with their printer. OK, date moved out again. 3 days passed, they said my simple part deformed in sintering because it was ss316, can I switch to 420ss. New date was now 2 months out from original order date.

this is rapid prototyping. I asked for a refund and they said they can give me a 25% discount on the 1 part they made. I said No as I need both parts for product. I will contact credit card company and get full refund.

Bottom Line: they don't know what they are doing. They have nice upfront software when ordering from all the French flamers in their pointy shoes twittering in the IT department, but when it comes to real, tangible parts...Forget it!

They are horrible

They are horrible, I am still waiting on an email for my order confirmation, probably the only company that I know doesn't provide their customers with an order confirmation and then blames it on PayPal. Horrible company, do not purchase anything from them

I don't think they really want to sell

I got the feeling that they didn't really want to make a sale. I had a lot of questions about the process of uploading the file to be printed and no one was answering. Been waiting for ages and at the end I had to give up.

Oh well, I guess I will try my luck somewhere else, really really poor customer support.
