It was really good cover everything in case you need in any emergency and possibly the the best bank for your buck insurance .

Our flight home was diverted due to bad weather, delaying our return home by 2 days. It was straight forward to lodge our claim for the related accommodation and travel expenses, and it was approved and paid promptly.

Easy to deal with. I called while away to check I was covered for paragliding. The person I spoke to was very helpful.

Reassuring travel insurance providing cover when it is needed.
Fortunately I did not need it as my travel was incident free.

We didn't have to claim which was great however it was great to know that we were covered if something had gone wrong.

It was easy to organise online, just choose the cover you required, tick any extras you may also need and it gives you a total to pay.
I compared southern cross to a couple of others and they still had the better cover for the price.
Luckily we didn’t need to use our travel insurance, so I can’t comment on the claim procedure.
I would definitely use them again based on value of cover provided.

Had an awful experience with Southern Cross Travel Insurance who denied my claim on the pretext my possible prolapsed disk was a pre-existing condition because I told the Osteo my back had been a bit sore for a few weeks before the acute event happened. We are talking night and day though in terms of affect on my life - a somewhat sore back I was functioning completely normally and still working, doing hikes, etc - the acute possible prolapsed disk I couldn't even walk. Hideous experience from assessor named James who flatly refused to phone the Osteo and speak to them to get more information. Never have I had such poor customer experience from a NZ company - had to cancel Raro trip and lost thousands. I would never, ever use Southern Cross Travel Insurance again.

I purchased this product because it covered everything that I needed it to for traveling to a couple of countries. The price was good and while I didn't need to make a claim it was great to know I had this in place.

Fortunately, I was not in need of my insurance for this trip, however I would not travel without it. I always use Southern Cross travel insurance as it is easy to buy online and the cost is reasonable.
We had a large medical claim a few years ago while in the USA and the Southern Cross team was amazing.

My husband had a fall and damaged his glasses. The accident was documented by the resort and he had various injuries consistant with a fall. Upon our return when he contacted Southern Cross regarding repair or replacement he was advised that glasses were not covered.
Disappointing.

We had piece of mind knowing we were covered in case of some sort of disaster while on holiday

We use Southern Cross travel insurance all the time.
We come back all the time even when we have checked out other insurances. Lucky for us we never have to use the insurance but going overseas with the knowledge that you have a good insurance is the best thing what you can do.

We made a claim due a flight delay which meant we missed all our connections and had to stay and extra night in USA.
I provided all receipts and they made the process so easy and streamlined and the refund came through quickly. I was relieved and will definitely use SCTI for future travels.
