Scott may be a fine teacher, but…
Scott may be a fine teacher, but the organisation isn’t. Did one session and i loved it. But than i lost my oassword. No possible way to get in contact with SBL. Nobody at the helpdesk, never an anwer to e-mails, tried everything for two weeks but than gave up. It took them months to convince me to become a member en than do this? I just don’t understand. Got my money back by Paypal, SBL didn’t reply to them neither i guess. Such a shame and not necessary.

All is well, until you ask for refund
All was well with this online bass lessons portal, up until the day when I decided to cancel my enrolment to the third course I bought from them, based on the 30-day trial period, which was part of the conditions of the offer.
Ever since, I’ve written twice to the owners of the site via the contact form within the members area of the site. Then, after one week had passed without any response, I wrote twice directly to their support@ address. Both times I got automatic answers from a chat bot, that my request will be processed in next 2 days. Now it’s already been 5 days without a reply and the chat bot is now contacting me to know if I have been able to review the response - which I have not received (checked all possible places like Spam or Unknown folders etc). The chat bot even asked me if I could rate the site’s support. It also stated the if I did not respond to it‘s message it would close my request within the next couple of days.
All in all it feels like at this site you’re only welcome as long as you send them your money. Despite all announcements to the contrary, refunds are not part of the deal. Really a pity…
Addendum: to be fair…. one day after this review, the site’s Support responded to my request and have refunded me the full course fees.

It’s brill.
Very wide scope and excellent teaching
The range of bass-related topics is very wide, and the instructors (all of them tremendously skilled in both playing and in explaining the concepts) go in depth into their subjects. It's a very well-rounded platform for learning the bass or improving as a musician.
The lessons are awesome, you will get more than your monies worth.
The lessons are great, my playing is now at levels I never thought I could reach. The price is amazing and affordable. Don't change a thing. I highly recommend them. If you are on the fence about joining, jump off and come on in, you will be amazed. Thanks, JohnB
Great guided pathway to success.
Guides you step by step to playing bass.
Don't hesitate!
SBL has a vast library of content and continually adds new courses and features. Great instructors for every temperament and level. The live practice sessions are fantastic. Well worth my initial investment. I also have a face to face teacher and SBL completes my learning experience.
I first started watching the odd…
I first started watching the odd lessons on YouTube when it was just Scott. Before that I had endless bass lessons in the early 70's with a guitar teacher, (hardly learnt anything). But after around a year I bit the bullet and signed up, have not looked back. I'm a young 72, still loving the bass, still learning, now I have 2 of my grandsons wanting to learn. Love you guys.
How SBL Turned Me Into an Actually Literate Musician
I joined SBL four years ago as a intermediate bassist thinking I’d just get better at bass. Turns out that wasn’t really what happened.
The real shift came from how the platform treats music literacy as central, not peripheral. Working through the different pathways and courses forced me to actually understand what I was playing instead of just executing patterns.
I’m obviously a better bassist now, but more than that, I’m just a better musician. My understanding of music has broadened way beyond bass. If you’re intermediate and serious about actually improving rather than just going through neverending YouTube content, SBL is worth it.
Keep coming back to SBL
Because of my financial situation. I’ve joined for a couple months here and I’d have to cancel for the above reason. I keep coming back though as matter of fact that’s what I’m doing right now!
What made my experience Great would be…Theb welcome and warm feeling i get when ever I watch
What made my experience Great would be the True Humbleness shown in every video
beautifully curated and organized…
beautifully curated and organized lesson that meet players at many levels. 6 months of hard work on the fretboard accelerator and players path have been miracle game changers. oh yeah. did I mention hard work? yes HARD WORK! there are no magic bullets however these lessons are very close.
