Parents Deserve Transparency Refund Still Outstanding

Dear Amanda,
Thank you for your reply. I will keep this simple:
The payment of $1560 remains unresolved. I am requesting that this refund be processed immediately. Please provide a written confirmation with the date and method of repayment.
It is highly unprofessional and inappropriate for you and your colleagues to drag my daughter into this matter. This is strictly between myself, as the payer, and the business that received the money. Bringing a student into financial and legal disputes is unacceptable.
The ABN is registered to an individual. The business name “Scholaris Group” linked to that ABN was deregistered on 22 June 2023, yet it continues to be used in advertising and invoicing. This is a compliance issue and cannot be ignored.
Your repeated threats of “defamation” are misplaced. I would also like to point out that I raised this with Trustpilot Content Integrity after your defamation claims. Trustpilot has already reviewed and reinstated my post, confirming it is factual and not defamatory and within the guidelines.
It is you who have chosen to illegally retain money which does not belong to you. To keep the funds while still trying to protect your “reputation” is contradictory and deeply unethical. How can any business have the face to do this?
I will be more than happy if you wish to take this through a legal channel, because I have simply spoken the truth and raised legitimate consumer concerns and I have kept all correspondence.
Unless this refund is resolved without further delay, I will continue to escalate the matter through legal channel.
Finally, I also note that I have never heard of you before, and I have no idea who “Amanda” is or what your exact relationship is to this matter. This only adds to the lack of clarity and accountability.
Please stop shifting blame and address the matter properly: refund the money, and stop involving my child in your business issues.

Reply from Scholarisgroup

Hi Louise,

I ask you again to send me details through the email legal@scholarisgroup.org. You keep venting here in a public space, saying that you will "take this through a legal channel", asking for your money back but offering me no means to help you resolve this matter. Since this last review I have been waiting for an email from you but I haven't heard from you since. Your daughter was the only source of contact to us or to Dr. Young. If you want me to cease involving your daughter in this matter, you need to email me yourself through the stated email address and provide me your contact details. I cannot help you if you keep venting here and not allowing me to help you.

No one can force an individual to transfer funds as you have. You made the mistake of sending the funds to the Scholaris account and have begun threatening Dr. Young two months later you made the transfer. Please do not drag her into this matter. I have seen that she clearly acknowledged the problem and contacted us immediately. This is also unacceptable from our view as you choose to vent publicly but offer no means of peaceful mediation privately.

Again, I request you email me your contact details because otherwise we will need to contact your daughter to resolve this matter. We also agree that safety for minors is paramount. As you feel it is unethical for us to 'drag' your daughter in this case, we haven't tried contacting her. Therefore as her parent, please contact us so that this issue can finally be resolved. This is the last time I will be making this request.

Trustpilot cannot police every single matter thoroughly and relies on AI. Your review was reinstated not because it is valid or true, but this platform seeks to allow people to express opinions. From a legal perspective, and considering your statements, what you have stated here is indeed defamatory and untrue regarding Scholaris Group. Precisely what is untrue I will outline for you when or if you contact us. However, if your 'reviews' remain on Trustpilot, we will elevate this matter and it will proceed to become beyond a simple refund matter.

Sincerely, Amanda

In light of recent reviews

In light of recent reviews, and as a former student, I’d like to add my two cents on my tutoring experience with "Dr. Young" over the past years. I found the experience to be mentally and emotionally draining. She would often cancel lessons on short notice (sometimes the day of), and while I do understand she has an incredibly busy schedule, I should not have been taken on as a student in this case and been made false promises. She was quite manipulative in making me feel guilty for asking questions in class/outside of class, which was rather unprofessional. Moreover, she overstepped boundaries by discussing the academic struggles of other students during my sessions, which felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. Organisation was another concern; promised materials and notes were frequently delayed until just days before important exams.

While I sincerely wish Dr. Young and her team the best in the future, I would recommend that others explore alternative tutoring options.

Dear Sally,
My name is Amanda and I'll be in charge of these reviews in the next few weeks as we perceive that some of your experience does not align with how Dr. Young runs her programs. As I understand it, Dr. Young is quite sensitive about the privacy of her students, she has told me directly that the academic struggles if she mentioned any were to allow you to understand that your own personal struggles with your studies can be overcome. She has explicitly told us that no names, no school or any information about her students have been mentioned in any of her classes. However if what you say is true, please contact me through legal@scholarisgroup.org. Another issue you mention here is that she apparently made you feel uncomfortable asking questions in and out of class. I'm sorry that you felt that way, however she is quite active in responding to questions that the entire time we've known her to be tutoring, she encourages her students to send screenshots or questions through WhatsApp regardless of time. This system may be hard on Dr. Young, but she continues to have this system to engage with her students.
As you've changed your name it is difficult for us to determine what really happened. But so far, of all applicants to Dr. Young has been filtered by us, it seems you haven't had a single class with her at all according to our records. Please email me at legal@scholarisgroup.org to allow us to better understand what happened. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
