Handy service

Makes you realise how easily your personal data gets distributed throughout the internet on random sites that just gather it without a legit reason to do so. I always see a surge every time I register and create a new account on a site. It’s like a flood opens and I get a bunch of notifications from Mine with different sites that you can’t even visit and that suddenly have my e-mail address and “online behaviour” whatever that means.

Came here just to try, ended up being a user forever.

I came here through MrWhoseTheBoss's Referral. I have always wondered what companies would be doing with our data and creepy thoughts were always in my mind until I found about Mine.
I am so glad I found this website.
I have recommended this to all my friends and would recommend to anyone who asks me.
So far, my experience has been very good with this service. I just have one request, please keep this service free as it is, because I don't know when I will end up dropping my email address at 50 sites or so.

Few minor tweaks required

Actually, my experience has been great. I've one reclaim in progress which I filed today itself. But one thing I distinctly noticed is that mine is unable to detect all of the companies that have my data and have a trace in my inbox. I'd love it even more if those companies could also be figured detected. Apart from that, mine is a great initiative. Great Job Guys 👍🏻.

I love the help you are doing in in helping with my fight for online privacy

I love the help you are doing in consolidating my online behavior and presence. I have used this and am happy to share that this works and some serious online businesses have actioned based on the requests we have sent. The only concern, I have is having my info on your site, 'guess that's how it works. Well, I am happy and thanks once again!

Great service, but there's one bad thing about it

Mine is a great service for me to track companies that are holding my personal information. Even better is that you can send pre-filled data removal requests, and most of the time, they respond, and Mine notifies me when a removal request is completed! The only bad thing (and the reason I'm only giving it 4 stars) is that it automatically sent a confirmation message to a company whom I was trying to complete a data request. I had a question about the request, and I'm not really happy about Mine automatically sending confirmation messages without my permission.

Did its part well

The service itself worked well, but only 2 companies responded. I guess, Mine has nothing to do about it, it's totally upto the companies

Sometimes companies comply with different regulations and have separate procedures for handling data privacy requests. If you'd like, you may simply tweet about your privacy experience with that company with the hashtag #MyDataIsMine, and we will be sure to amplify your voice!

How Mine just amazes me.

I really like how Mine has the autopilot function, answering the email replies that I have asked Mine to send to companies. However, there are times that once the company or organization does reply. On the Mine website, their replies do not automatically show or refresh. Sometimes, it would take a day before their response appeared on my Mine account activity page. So, I really hope the autopilot function does get improved upon in the future since it is a great function that is very helpful and convenient.

Hello there! The data deletion request you've submitted to Tinder is still pending because our geeks are still looking for the company's privacy contact details. This process can take some time, so be patient. 🙂 Our newest feature allows you to suggest the contact details if you find them yourself. This would not only speed up your reclaiming process but also the one of all our other users! 🤩

I have no idea how this even works

I have no idea how this even works. I just joined to test after seeing they sponsored Linus Tech Tips. I think only like 2 out of a bunch of companies even responded and said they deleted me though. And there's seemingly no way to get "Mine" to contact any companies you KNOW have your personal info, unless "Mine" has found them linked to you. Like for instance, I'd like to send Teamviewer a request to delete my personal info, but seemingly that's not a possibility, even though they just sent me another e-mail informing me of some update to their privacy rules or something.

Hello Joachim! Thank you for your feedback. Submitting data deletion requests to companies that aren't in your Mine footprint is a great idea, and we'll certainly consider adding it to the roadmap. Thanks!

thanks to your stupid service side owners now have to manually process each termination request instead of a user canceling an account himself. you suck.

Hello Ethan, we allow consumers to discover which companies hold their personal data, understand the digital risk, and, if they want, send a deletion request (right-to-be-forgotten) to remove their data. In today’s reality, this is a HUGE concern for many users on the internet and so we are here to help them protect their personal data online and avoid data breaches and privacy scandals. We would love to help you with streamlining your incoming data deletion requests and setting up automatic flows to complete them - please email support@saymine.com and one of our experts will set a call with you in no time.

Is this even legal?

As a user:
You need to give them access to your email inbox(!) so that they can scan and datamine all your eMails.

As a company:
We recieve dozens of data delete ereasure requests from people we do not even have in our systems (until the request - hilarious). This creates a considerable workload, since we address each one of them.

As a concequence, we will start to state the above in our answers to our non existent "customers" which issue data ereasure requests through this service.

If you are a company I invite you to do the same.

If you are a customer I recommend you to consider carefully if you want to give these people access to your eMail inbox.

Hello Gregor, let us explain for a moment how Mine works: We help users discover their digital footprint and understand what companies hold their personal data. Our technology reconstructs the user’s footprint by analyzing the subject lines and sender fields of email messages in their email inbox to identify traces of previous interactions with companies (without collecting the content of the email). This means that if Mine users have requested that their data be deleted from your company, the reason is that our systems found email interactions that seem to indicate the exchange of personal data If you are certain that you don’t hold these users’ data, the reason for this may be that you are acting as a data processor in some cases, which may explain why you cannot locate them in your system. Would you mind sending an email to support@saymine.com so we could learn how we can send requests to the relevant controller and solve your case?

Great and helpful

Great and helpful. On the bad side there's a fact that indicates that over we reach out for companies that did not email us anymore even though had our data they start bombing with newsletter once again until the process is complete.

Hello Vincenzo, thanks so much for your review! We have noted your feedback regarding companies "re-adding" you to their mailing list once you send a 'reclaim' request. Our product team will try to find solutions to this case, but regardless, we hope that companies will complete your requests faster :)
