I had the pleasure to collaborate with Samantha on my wedding day. Samantha is a very talented makeup artist (and not only), extremely professional and attempt in her work and execusion. She can fully understand the needs of a bride and advice in the best possible way.
On top of being a professional, Samantha is very friendly and warm and it is a pleasure to have her around. My special day would not be the same without her presence. I feel greatful that I could share this moment with her and most of all I had the pleasure to meet her.

Samantha is amazing, I was nervous for my bridal hair and makeup as I don’t wear a lot of makeup normally. However Samantha immediately put my mind at ease and did a fantastic trial the day before my wedding where she explained step by step what she was doing and I was able to check in the mirror and we discussed the different looks to make sure I was comfortable (I was comfortable with everything - everything she did was perfect!). As well as being amazing at what she does, Samantha is also the kindest and loveliest presence to have around - the hours spent with her and my sister the morning of the wedding were one of the best bits for me! I’m so happy to have found her!

Samantha is the kindest soul! Working with Samantha was a dream and my expectations were exceeded on every level. Samanthas knowledge of various makeup / hair products is extensive and the right product is selected based on your skin type. Samantha understands very well how the products work together as well. I wanted to feel like myself on my wedding day but just a glammed up version. Samantha did an excellent job executing that vision. I felt so beautiful and was calm the entire day because Samantha is amazing! Samantha even stayed a little longer on short notice due to the rain. Samantha helped me with touch ups and was very flexible/supportive given the weather conditions. So happy with how everything turned out!

Samantha is the absolute best!!! I am a Canadian bride who travelled all the way to Italy for my wedding, I was nervous at first about hiring someone across the world but Samantha made everything SO easy! Samantha went above and beyond! From the trial to the wedding day, she captured my vision perfectly. I actually changed my mind about a few things after the trial, and she was so flexible and open to making adjustments. Samantha is much more than a makeup artist. She’s part artist, part therapist, part cheerleader, part bestie.
Before I hired Samantha, I read hundreds of reviews and googled her obsessively. Yes, she could make other brides look beautiful—there were plenty of pictures to prove that. But I was still skeptical she could make me look beautiful. After all, I’m 42 with plenty of fine lines, rosacea and acne prone skin. I recently lost half my hair after having my baby, and the half I kept wasn’t great to start with. The women in her pictures looked young and beautiful and like they were giving her a great pallet from the beginning. What if she didn’t even know where to start with me?
But that’s what sets Samantha apart from all the other professionals I’ve had do my hair or makeup over the years. It’s one thing to make someone look beautiful. The much harder part is helping someone feel beautiful. And when I walked out to face the crowd on my wedding night, I felt beautiful for the first time in a very long time. I don’t know how she did it, but Samantha helped me feel confident and pretty and excited. I looked great, but I also felt great about how I looked. And that’s Samantha’s super power.
I imagine there are plenty of makeup artists who are skilled at their jobs. But Samantha is so much more than that. She will genuinely listen to you, teach you, talk to you, pay attention to what’s important to you, acknowledge your fears, compliment you, pamper you, and be truly kind to you. And by the time it’s all over, you’ll be her biggest fan. You’ll be plotting a way you could justify hiring her just one more time, if only just to hang out again. Because Samantha is one of those rare people you meet in life who inspires you to be a little better. A little kinder, a little more passionate, a little better friend. She is all those things on top of being incredibly good at her job.
So if you’re like me and you’re hesitant to book a makeup artist you’ve never met and won’t meet until it’s too late to change your mind, go ahead and trust all the reviews. Where to start? Samantha was SO much more than a MUA. She was friendly, funny and fabulous - making me and my bridal party feel so at ease throughout the whole process. Her hair and makeup skills were unmatched, it was exactly what I wanted and she didn’t mind that I had changed my mind my hair style between the trial I had in March and my wedding day in August!

Samantha was absolutely lovely and made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! I knew I wanted to work with her after seeing examples of her elegant but natural makeup style. I am Asian American and was worried about getting my makeup done in Italy because of the language barrier and because I wasn't sure how an Italian makeup artist would do with my facial features. I absolutely LOVED how Samantha did my hair and makeup. She gave me so much time and attention and made sure everything looked perfect and that I was happy with the look. I got so many compliments on my makeup, especially how my skin looked. Samantha and her assistant were also amazing with my English-speaking mom and sister and my Italian-speaking mother and sister in law. Beyond her hair and makeup skills, Samantha was so professional and so sweet. She responded to all messages quickly, was flexible about doing a makeup trial for me in the limited time frame I had, and was such a kind and calming presence on my (very chaotic) wedding day. I can't recommend her enough!

Samantha is, without a doubt, the best hair and makeup artist I have ever had the pleasure of working with and I've worked with makeup artists fairly often. She is kind, highly skilled, and focused on making you feel the most beautiful you have ever felt. She listens to your preferences and ideas, and executes them flawlessly. She will offer suggestions and work with you so that you feel your best! She is so easy to talk to, which makes a nerve-racking getting ready experience so much more peaceful.

After undertaking a lot of research into Italian make up artists, I contacted Samantha and we did a trial run in Florence a few months before the wedding. During the trial, she listened to the style I was looking for and talked me through her approach - I absolutely loved her technique! On the wedding day, Samantha and her assistant were super friendly, efficient and did a brilliant job. We had our wedding in Italy and I had booked Samantha Pretto without a trial to do my hair and makeup, makeup for 4 bridesmaids and the hair of my mum and auntie. Even though I hadn’t had a trial I wasn’t actually that nervous as I had been following Samantha’s work on social media and was in love with her styles.
Samantha was amazing, she arrived in plenty of time, she made me feel super relaxed and is just such a lovely person. Every step of my makeup Samantha checked that I was happy and she gave me lots of options. I was so so happy with both my hair and makeup. Samantha’s assistants did the makeup for my bridesmaids and they all looked beautiful. Both my mum and auntie were delighted too.
