Safar is a Persian-inspired street food business based in Hertfordshire, built around simple food, bold flavours and cooking over charcoal. Our menu centres around joojeh chicken and koobideh kebabs, served in warm pitta or with rice, alongside house-made accompaniments including ezme and our lemon & dill yoghurt. Safar was created from a love of cooking and the food and flavours I grew up around in an Iranian household. The idea is simple: take those influences and turn them into approachable street food, cooked fresh and served without overcomplicating it. We're currently growing Safar through pop-ups, events and catering across Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. Great food - nicely presented. We had the mixed chicken and lamb kebabs one with pitta and the other with rice. The meats were cooked well with a tasty char but still soft and tender. The round pitta was soft and much nicer than the usual thin oval pittas.
Both were served with a fresh chilli sauce that had a great little kick, a creamy yogurt sauce and red onions and herbs.
Absolutely fantastic food! Would definitely order again. The seasoning on the chicken was delicious and the yoghurt and dill dressing was the perfect addition.
The food was freshly cooked and served nice and hot. I can’t wait to order again!

Meat was very tender and was flavoursome. The homemade sauces were the star of the show and complimented the meat perfectly. Food was ideal for adults and little ones. Totally recommend.
