Rybrook Warrington Stores Department.

Rybrook Warrington Stores Department.
Dealt with John Rooney who shipped my Volvo parts to Aberdeenshire in record breaking time far faster than my local Agent could supply them to me. Now that is what I call service and I was updated all the way. I personally can recommend them. Many thanks to you and the team.
Yours Sincerely, Charles A.

Rybrook Volvo preston

Cannot rate Rybrook Volvo Preston highly enough. Lindon Rimmer was the best car sales man I have ever come across. Every query and question I had was answered promptly. I never felt pressured to buy a car and his friendly informative approach was appreciated. I changed my mind a few times as to which vehicle I wanted which was not a problem as he wanted me to find the best vehicle for me and my family that matched our budget. Without a shadow of a doubt I will be purchasing my Volvo from Preston from now on and recommend them to my friends and family. I had a Land Rover before purchasing my Volvo and I can say hands down the service and quality of volvo is so much better. Thanks again, Olivia and Luke.

Overpriced.

Rybrook Bolton. Service very expensive. One front spring replacement set me back £501. I got the genuine Volvo parts, for £280, but £220 for an hour of work?! All quotes I got from other garages after the fact maxed out at £200 for parts AND labour (1h). I feel robbed. Not recommended.

Not Happy with Rybrook Warrington

I have owned 3 Volvos and in recent years bought a Volvo XC60. Once the vehicle was out of warranty, I purchased the Volvo Selekt warranty option. I have maintained this cover for 2 years costing over £1200
I recently experienced an issue with the clutch pedal sticking (3 times in 3 months)
I took the Volvo to Rybrook Warrington and was surprised that they only appeared to do a basic visual check with no road test??
Then the fun started.
I was told that the gearbox would need to be dropped out of the car to establish what the issue was! Labour was in the region of £175 per hour and I half expected to see a formula 1 pit crew on standby at this price.
I was quoted £2,200 as a likely figure.
No problem - it’s under warranty said I.
I was then told that my driving style may be a factor and this may have caused excessive clutch wear. REALLY?? I drive really carefully and was a police advanced driver prior to retirement! I could sense a shift and a potential effort to dodge a warranty claim.
I explained that my clutch was perfectly healthy and did not slip and there was no smell of burning.
I was told that if the gearbox was out,it would make sense to replace the clutch and flywheel anyway?? At who’s expense??
I queried why the gearbox needed to be taken out and was told this was to allow ‘diagnosis’ and to fault find.
The warranty company would be contacted once the gearbox was out and then there would be an examination to determine if there was a claim to be made. Volvo Selekt would send an engineer to see if the warranty claim should be accepted or not.
I quickly realised that I would have to agree to allowing the work and potential expense with no certainty of any claim being honoured.
I booked the car in but a cloud of doubt was hanging over me and I sensed that all was not as it seemed
I then contacted a non franchise specialist Volvo garage for second opinion and the car went in for a full assessment
Lo and behold - I was advised that under no circumstances should the gearbox be removed as this was entirely unnecessary. I was told that it was possible that dirt had caused the issue which made sense as I am regularly driving in muddy wellies. A good clean had been done.
I was then told that Rybrook Volvo where in a win win position and it was in their interests to complete as much work as possible because they can’t lose out
1. The customer pays if the warranty claim isn’t accepted
2. If the warranty claim is accepted, they get full costs back from Volvo Selekt
The only loser is the customer.
I was furious and felt that I was being treated as a cash cow to line the pockets of Rybrook Volvo.
How much for the independent assessment? Not a penny - they refused to charge me as they said and I quote ‘we don’t want you to feel cheated again’
I immediately cancelled my booking at Rybrook
Within a few days, a letter arrived from Volvo Selekt reminding me my warranty was due to be renewed - £607. I have absolutely no intention of renewing. What’s the point? After this experience I won’t be using a Volvo main dealer again. My trust is destroyed and I feel cheated
Then….. to add insult to injury, I received a follow up call from Volvo customer services to check I had a good experience!!!! I explained I had a dreadful experience and was told that my comments would be recorded and sent to Rybrook Volvo
I expected to get a call from a manager at the dealership to explain themselves and apologise for an awful customer experience
No surprise as 4 weeks later, I’m still waiting. I don’t expect they apologise when they get negative feedback.
I wonder how many customers just accept what is said and just cough up without getting a second opinion?
After the remedy at the local non franchise garage, the fault hasn’t reoccurred and cost not a penny.
I wish I could give a zero star rating. I could have stumped up over £2,200 for work deemed entirely unnecessary.

Really disappointing service

Really disappointing service. Unfortunately I’m still waiting for the car I was promised (and paid the deposit for!) in AUGUST. Poor service, consistently not replying to emails and crucially no car on the horizon!

Worcester Service Awful

Service department are clueless and customer care is obviously not part of the training.
Paid to have bmw cameras fitted and not only did they not put them where I asked they managed to break my reversing camera.
Their response was as it was an aftermarket fitting and not done by bmw it was not their issue and was down to me to put it right.
Spoke to the service supervisor and manager, was basically told that I was lying and they didnt know the camera was working before the work took place. Absolute waste of time and if this is what BMW call service I will go back to Jaguar
Just had a great chap from AVS arrive to rectify the issue at my own expense and the "experts" at Rybrook had put the fuse connector back incorrectly and replaced a 3amp fuse with a 30amp.

Excellent

Recently purchased an approved used Volvo V40 R design from Rybrook Chester. Great customer service from Phil with good, honest communication throughout. Picking up the car was seemless, all paperwork done and car was ready to go on my arrival. One of the best experiences with car sales people I’ve had. Highly recommended.

Very poor service. Told I could collect once V5 received .Paid balance the weekend before and received v5 following Friday . Called to pick up @ weekend but told not ready and I would have to pickup on Tuesday .
Resulted in me having to rearrange work and collect on workday . Complained but response woeful. Very disappointing indeed and no recognition of impact on work

Excellent service from the day I was show several vehicles until i bought the car. Picked the new car up 6 days after initially walking into branch. Dealt with Lee, who even gave me his mobile number for any additional queries after I left branch. stayed in touch via text throughout the process and even helped with selling my existing vehicle.

Rybrook Warrington - Great price for used Volvo, brilliant customer care

Bought a used Volvo in Feb from Rybrook Warrington which was a leap of faith in lockdown, not having seen or driven the car. Great correspondence particularly Lewis in the dealership even though he had Covid at one point. Car was delivered on time despite the fact I live in Hertfordshire 170 miles south of Warrington. When delivered the car was missing a key and had a small scuff on the back bumper. They organised these to be sorted efficiently and in good time - sometimes you've got to accept things go wrong but it's how the dealership responds that makes the difference. Sadly I know my local Volvo dealership is rubbish so need to find somewhere locally now to get the car serviced. I would definitely buy my next Volvo from these guys. Thank you Rybrook :)

SHODDY at best.

Purchased a XC60 from Rybrook Volvo, Chester. The car was far from clean in the rear compartment when I collected it so the dealership offered me a "Full Supagard treatment" .they sent a driver on a Sunday "So that we can get on it first thing Monday morning" When they returned it on Monday evening I suspected it had not been done as it had no distinctive 'supagard' smell about it. I checked my dashcam to find a) The driver activated the excess speed alarm several times b) used his mobile phone on a call to his wife, who asked him to go shopping for her whilst he was driving in rain and busy roadworks and c) said, "I can't go in this car cos he's put a camera in it" (presumably had there not been a camera in it, he would have done so.?)
The following day the car was not moved until 3pm, given a quick jet wash, a wipe dry and a vacuum and polish in the rear compartment.
I complained and they offered to take it back and do it again. They, beyond belief, sent the same guy to collect it who immediately went into an aggressive and totally unnecessary rage about how I had broken the GDPR law by filming him and that "he was going to get me done".. threatened to take the dashcam out, disconnect it and wipe it..! I refused to let him take the car in his agitated state and made a formal written complaint to both the Chester dealership and Rybrook head office. The manager at Chester rang me to completely deny that the car had not been 'Supagarded' and furthermore that his driver had done nothing wrong and actually had the audacity to intimate that I was in fact lying and was the aggressor.
It is beyond belief that this even happened in the first instance but further that it was dismissed out of hand as a fabrication. Clearly Rybrook as a company condone thus sort of behaviour by one of their staff towards their customers.
In closing if you have a complaint with Rybrook, I really wouldn't waste your time. Remember, there are other Volvo dealerships out there.

Rybrook Worcester

Purchased my car in 2018 and within a year the Telmatics control unit completely failed. As I was under warranty Rybrook replaced this for me. They wanted to charge £120 for diagnostics but after a little back and forth this was waved. A year later the unit failed again. As it was a slow build to complete failure it took me a while to report this issue. I eventually reported it to Rybrook and was told also aware that BMW parts have a full 2 year manufactures warranty. William from service confirmed this for me. Thea Rose from service confirmed that it was indeed the telematics control unit that had failed and after a few days to my shock told me that they would only be willing to contribute 20% of the cost for the part which is over £1000. Which I find completely unacceptable! The part is still under warranty. The communication and service I've received since they've had my vehicle has been nothing less than disgusting. Have gone through BMW complaints to see if they can resolve but I am really not holding my breath. I received a call a day later from someone from Rybrook again telling me it's because of a water leak from my shark fin into the unit. Which is ironic in my view. Shouldn't have this been spotted when it was replaced? Shouldn't have this been spotted when carrying out the vehicle inspection when I serviced the vehicle last? Absolutely fuming! Will be looking to take this complaint further and will not be the last review I'm leaving. There is nothing leaking. My boot has always been clear of any water. This is a complete and utterly lie that is being used to wiggle themselves out of replacing it with warranty. Disgusting!

Review relates to the new Volvo…

Review relates to the new Volvo dealership in Preston

Visited for a safety recall and was told there was a knocking noise which needed investigation at £162. I could not hear it, technician did not speak to me. service receptionist admitted she had not heard it either driving car to workshop and back. went straight to local garage about a mile away and they could not hear it. A couple of weeks later went for a service to my usual dealership Ray Chapman Motors in York and they could not hear it either.

Wrote to Volvo UK to complain and they passed it back to Rybrook. Apparently the receptionist isn't mechanically trained (but l don't think she is deaf either) The manager at Hi Q Tyres isn't Volvo trained (no but is a mechanic and he's not deaf either, and nor am I) and it could have got better on its own before Ray Chapman Motors checked it out!

Despite their denial, admittance that technician should have spoken to me assurance that they will implement changes to their process there was no apology and l remain convinced that had it have been someone like my 70 year old mother, they would happily have taken the money for a problem l still believe is not there as it was heard by one person only. l wonder if Volvo trained technicians do have superior hearing, if not then the fact it was no longer there when it went to York means Volvo cars can heal themselves and if that were the case they are missing a great marketing angle there!

They had a chance to gain my service custom and potentially sell me cars in the future as l am a high mileage user and my partner also drives and likes her Volvo but it's safe to say l will never set foot in this dealership again.

Will l buy another Volvo? that's gone from definitely to probably as l was a little dissapointed that Volvo UK seemed diss-interested that the service l recieved fell short of my expectations and just passed it back to the dealership, but l do love the range.

If l do it will almost certainly be from Ray Chapman Motors and they will get my service business too as despite being quite a drive for me l fit it in with work in the area and they seem to be extremely honest and know how to treat their customers.

I would seriously avoid this place and if you want a Volvo look elsewhere.

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless. Not interested in diagnosing the problem I had despite it being under warranty. I've now taken it to a private garage and had it fixed at my own expense.

Complete waste of time and will not be returning.

Rybrook Worcester

Rybrook Worcester

A few weeks back I was on my way to Birmingham to buy an M Sport Shadow Edition when I saw the same model with the same spec, advertised in Auto trader, at Rybrook BMW Worcester. I stopped in to take a look, spoke to Dale, the salesman, and bought the car. At the time I was happy with the deal and now, several weeks later, I am even more pleased with the purchase. I’ve been back a few times with questions and advice. Staff have always been helpful, informative and friendly.

I have been a customer at Rybrook BMW Worcester for over 10 years for servicing, but this was the first time I've purchased a car from the Worcester Branch of Rybrook. Very pleased with the deal, competitively price and great value.

I’m always impressed by the expertise and customer service they provide. A pleasure to drop my car off for servicing and view the stock. Can’t recommend them highly enough.
