We have so much good to say about our trip around Borneo. By car from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan, with a stay in the mountains, and then by boat to the jungle, and back by plane to Gaya Island which was a gem to end our stay on. The trip around was planned from home, and everything went according to plan. There was even room to add spontaneous detours along the way, which created a sense of freedom in the program. Jonathan from Rustik Travel wrote to us along the way, so we always felt that our appointments were in order. That way, traveling around was easy and safe. Already at the airport, our private guide William was ready to receive us. He was a passionate nature and animal encyclopedia. He knew so much about Borneo's culture and the names and uses of so many different trees, plants and flowers. It was easy to feel his genuine passion for plants and animals and not least his good ability to spot them. This meant that we saw a lot of different things. He had great human understanding, so it was easy to be together for several days and feel like we could relax along the way in a relatively packed program. However, with room to visit places that were of interest to us, as he suggested along the way. There was so much freedom in traveling that way. To experience something spontaneous in between the planned program. The nature is very beautiful in Borneo, and the wildlife is abundant, you just have to spot it. Especially on the river trips we got close to the animals. All our hotels lived up to a very fine standard and we were greeted with kindness and hospitality everywhere. A trip we will never forget, and we are so happy to be suggested to choose a private guided tour. The Big 5 and much more than that, are now in our hearts and cameras, and we have lots of impressions to take home.

Great trip through Malaysia
All transfers went smoothly, hotels organised were perfect and the guided day tours were enjoyable and well planned.
Our KL guide Lucas was brilliant and the service and communication from Jonathon at Rustic Travel was timely and informative.

Everything that we wire promised from the start when we bought the trip to Bornen has been fullfilled and to our satisfaction.
Due to the airspace crisis which no one could predict. Jonathan helped us as much as possible in a very difficult situation.

It was very great trip for us, first time in Malaysia, beautiful nature and nice people.

From start to finish our experience with Rustic Travel has been exceptional. Instructions for each step always arrived at exactly the right time and everyone who picked us up always arrived on time whatever the traffic. The guides have always been very knowledgeable and friendly and we can not fault anything. Big call out to ISA in Kuching and Richie in Mulu, you are both brilliant. When our flight from Mulu to KK was cancelled Jonathan who helped us every step of the way stopped us panicking and rearranged our transfers even on Chinese New Year, so professional and just an absolute hero. Thanks for all your help with such a memorable trip we will definitely book again.

Super happy with our knowledgeable guide Gunnar, showing us local markets, old town and different temples, and at the same time adapting the experience to our speed and needs. Especially happy for the good stories and local food experience 😀

What a great nightwalk in Georgetown with Gunar. 5stars plus...a very good street art tour with a lot of information of the city and the history of this town.
We had a lot of fun and he showed us hidden places and organized an indian festival and a chinese parade ;-) absoltuly recommended...Thank you so much Gunar

Zee was a wonderful guide. She gave us an introduction to Kuala Lumpur's many different cultures through good stories and amazing food. She showed us how to get around the city by ourselves, and she was always ready to answer any question.

Our guide Z was so good. We got so many stories and learned so much about culture, language and life in Malaysia. We finished with a delicious lunch at Batu Caves. We had a great day!

Mr. Tan took us at a guided tour through KL's different districts and also to the Batu Caves. His knowledge of the historie of Malasia and of KL is very good and he were excellent to tell all about this great contry and its historie. His is a very nice and likeable person, which we like to give our very brst rekommandationes.

We have done the whole of KL in a day and thanks to our guide Z and driver Ravi we feel like we got a real feel for the place! We had all the weather - blazing sunshine to thunder lightning and pouring rain.. Ravi dodged the traffic jams and got us as close as possible to the attractions. Z is infectiously cheerful and enthusiastic about KL and did her utmost to get us to see as much as possible despite the weather and traffic. She was full of fascinating facts and stories.
We managed the Petronus towers, Batu caves, the National Mosque, the Chinese Temple we had to do a drive by of the independence square as it was closed. We walked through China town and we stopped at the confluence of the rivers. We also learned so much of the history and politics of the place. We also had a lovely buffet lunch at the Mandarin Oriental.
We definitely got the most out of our time here.

Our guide, Gina was very knowledgeable, pleasant . We had a fabulous time touring Georgetown. Our driver Sudha was very patient and always ready to pick us up.
