Scam Charged My Card Without My Permission

Total useless site, first it was free, but then they changed it and if one wants to read messages, has to upgrade.

When I changed my number I could not login any longer, so I needed to redo to register my account with the new number.

But they ended up still charging me for my previouse profile, without my permission, I didn't even get a request for an upgrade or anything, just email that there is an open message, when I clicked on it, I could not read it, but it showed me the options to upgrade.

I ended up not upgrading and deleting the profile, yet they charged my debit card on 1 November 2025. Total scam, I requested a refund and might take legal action against them, never use them again for sure!!!!

WORST APT & ROOMMATE SITE EVER.

By any measure, the worst site I've ever used to advertise my rental. One inquiry requires you to pay to read, and any others for seven days. Every, single phquing time, the person doesn't respond EVER and there are no other inquiries during the 7 days. OH!! And my rental NEVER appears on their apartment and roommate map even after several demands to their fake call center reps who don't seem to know which web site client you are referring to. Take a GOOD LOOK at Roomster.com 2022 FTC and California lawsuits to see for yourself how really bad this site is.

I have previously used Roomster to advertise a room and paid for a subscription again but no one can see my room despite them telling me it’s active. I scrolled down until I couldn’t scroll anymore and can’t find my room anywhere. This site is a scam. I wish I would’ve looked at the revibefore paying for a monthly subscription.

Are the 296 accounts true?

I created my account on 8/16 and put ads for my rental properties.
Paid one month fee.
My ads reached 296 individuals.
The miracle part: none of the 296 people responded or inquired at my ads.

So I assume either these people never were looking for rentals, or fake accounts. Hard to imagine none of these people responded.

Deleted my account today and cancelled the subscription.

Scam

This website uses predatory behavior to get money from people hoping to find alternative housing solutions. I signed up and put up a listing for a room wanted. Of course, the next day it says I have two new messages. Yay! I go to read them and that's when I get prompted to "unlock" messages for a price. $11.99 for 7 days. $29.99 for 30 days and $59.99 for 60 days. Are you kidding me? I immediately deleted my profile and felt disgusted. I knew right away these alerts were sent to any new user to get them to pay in hopes of a match. It's extremely expensive for what it's offering and just a straight up scam. Preying on people hoping to find housing. Seems to be a trend these days. BEWARE!

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless. Matches me with people who's budget is much lower than the asking price and who are outside of my area even though I have set all the filters. Also started charging me monthly instead of weekly without my approval. Not even 1 potential Roommate in 2 months looking. Stay away. Scam!!!

Custom Service/Support Is Not Great

Customer service is absolutely abysmal. I create an account with my professional email. I pay for the subscription through Google Pay, which uses my personal email. Works fine for a week. When I go to renew, they say I don't have proof I paid (even though I show them my email invoice). No phone support, "chat" takes literal hours to respond to anything. Probably just understaffed, maybe not really their fault, but still frustrating. Not to mention it's absurdly overpriced.

Roomster is an unstable system

Roomster is an unstable system. First of all you can't write any numbers (how many people, bedroom, rent, deposit, size of the room ..) because the developers are afraid people'd share your phone number and people would not use their paid messaging service. The system constantly patrols the site and removes anything that remotely suggests numbers.

I was willing to suck it up. But one night all my messages and listings got deleted and I was locked out of my account because the system thought I was a bot. I was just busy reviewing potential tenants' profiles and communicating with them! Their tech people are only available during the day time so I lost a whole evening and night of communication. When I was allowed back into my account by the tech the next day, all my history was gone. They said they couldn't restore it due to company policy. That was it for me. I stopped using Roomster from that morning.

Ariana Pierre and her Boyfriend rent…

Ariana Pierre and her Boyfriend rent rooms on 5th olney. They locked me out mid way through the month for no reason and stole my clothes, jewelry, phone. They basically robbed me. They look for people to do this to. I would not rent from them. They will rob you by locking you out mid month

I advertised my room

I advertised my room. They don't correctly match you with applicants. You ask for a price and prospective applicant's range is never even close. Also applicant's are not looking for rooms in your area. So what's the use?

Worst is, you can't contact them even after you pay for the roomster upgrade. I want to cancel. Luckily I only paid for a week. They are a total scam.

Total Waste of Time And money .

I used this app to list a room I have for rent, but I’m really disappointed with the experience. I spent time writing a clear and detailed description, including all the important information about the room, location, price, and conditions. However, it seems like my listing isn’t being shown properly—or at least not the way I posted it.
The people who reach out to me clearly haven’t seen the actual details. Most of the messages I receive make no sense at all or ask for things that were already clearly stated in the ad. It’s like the app is not showing the full listing, or it’s matching me with completely unrelated requests.
It’s frustrating because I was hoping this platform would help me find a serious tenant quickly, but so far, it’s been a waste of time. I really hope the developers fix whatever is causing this issue, because right now, it’s just not working the way it should
Don’t recommend and Spareroom is 100%better .
