Amazing Trip

First time staying at Rookery Manor and we had a great time! Called ahead as we travelled from Glasgow and we had some things that needed to be refrigerated so we asked if we could sort these and then head back out until check in. We were told we could check in early and we’re not charged any extra cost. On the 2nd day we had traveled to Cardiff for the day as it was my birthday, then we arrived back at the lodge to chill out and get ready to go for dinner. We went to go into the hot tub and noticed quite a lot of discoloured foam appearing. We contacted the manager and she immediately came and changed the water in the hot tub for us. We explained we were on a time limit and she got it done so quickly. By the time we got back from dinner the hot tub was ready to go for us! The only things I would say were the outdoor light is on a sensor so it is quite dark when in hot tub. We were in Somerset Studio which was right at the car park on the man Road so we were in complete darkness whilst outside - a light that can be switched on and off may be a better idea. There isn’t cupboards to place food into either as it is only a small kitchen so try not to take too much cupboard food with you. These did not affect our stay much and we would absolutely stay again! Great location to travel to south wales, Bath, Exeter and Bristol all within an hour or two if you’d like a day trip.

First time stay at this site.

First time stay at this site.
The lodge was beautifully presented and well stocked.
For comfort and house keeping I really can’t fault it.
The hot tub was an absolute joy with fab views across countryside, clean, warm and bubbly with beautiful lighting selections for the evening whilst enjoying a glass of wine.
Inside the lodge: very comfortable and spacious with the option of heating. The bedrooms, en-suite and bathroom faultless and spotless.
Outside; space for two cars per unit. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and reassuringly gated with a passcode for security.
I will definitely return and would recommend to my family and friends.

This is a review for the restaurant

This is a review for the restaurant, and specifically the afternoon tea.
Went there as a party of 6 - including 3 people over 80, and had the most amazing experience.
We all said that it was probably the BEST afternoon tea we have ever had (and we've done a few!). The selection of sandwiches was perfect, very generous and beautifully presented. There was 3 choices of cakes, as well as beautifully warmed scones with jam and cream - much more than any of us could finish!
The setting was beautiful (I've lived in the area for most of my life, and this was my first visit to this venue - it wont be my last though) and I can say with hand on my heart that it is definitely worth a visit.
The staff were so helpful, and were quite happy for my Auntie to play their Grand Piano, which absolutely made her day.
Really cant fault anything about the experience, and even the Chef came and introduced himself and was anxious to know everything had gone well.
I will be recommending this to others, without a doubt.

Careful booking a massage

Careful booking a massage. Our 30 minute massage was 15 minutes. A few minutes late going to room. Once in room waited such that the actual massage was only 15 minutes

Terrible - What a waste of money

What a waste of money, where do I start.
Anybody who gives this place a four or five star rating who did not stayed in the manor have never stayed in a manor before. We enjoy staying in manors, the advertising is seriously misleading and will be officially complained about.

The advertising jargon makes it appears that you will be staying in a manor, I've taken all the screen shots of the advertising jargon and will be taking it to advertising standards authority, it's a complete rip off and completely misleading. I'm not happy as this should have been a relaxing night away with my partner but instead I didn't sleep all night due to being annoyed with misleading advertising. I'm writing this review at 4:37am.

BAD POINTS:
* These are not suits, period. We've stayed in plenty of 4 star suits (and 5 star hotels), and this is not one of them.
* No fridge for medications.
* No safe for belongings.
* No iron or ironing board.
* I had to return to TV for missing channels.
* I've not see the manor or the gardens.
* Spa needs shutting down, cleaning and repainting (in sauna area).
* Slippery spa floor (be very careful).
* Bed is like trying to sleep on rocks.

GOOD POINTS:
* Excellent food (but limited to a £15 voucher not £15.50 as stated in the advertising jargon), plus extras at extra cost.
* Nice steam room (in sauna area).
* ‎Nice hot room (in sauna area).
* Nice bathroom in our so called laughable suite.

I will be leaving Rookery manor more stressed out than when I arrived here.
