Form and function expressed beautifully.
I have been using ROK (presso as it was when I first bought it) products for knocking on two decades now and it just works, well! Beautiful, elegant and supremely functional. I have spent too much time writing reviews of stuff that I am disappointed in so I have decided to champion the products that I love. Durability and serviceable are hugely important to me these days. Every single morning I get up and my ROK coffee grinder does its job perfectly and is a beautiful thing to see and feel then my press does its job with that same quality feel and sensory feedback. Fundamentally they look and work fantastically.

The filter holder is of very poor quality. There is significant oxidation inside, making it difficult to open for cleaning; the chrome plating is severely corroded by the acidity of the coffee. The filter holder consistently loosens when pressurized, resulting in pressure leaks.

not great
I greatly regret having bought the grinder. Gears are made of cheap plastic, so they break.
I have never reviewed a product before
but after nearly 15 YEARS of daily use, my ROK coffee maker has more than earned this tribute! This morning I found myself gazing at my ROK with genuine affection, like greeting an old friend. We've shared a longer relationship than I have with my husband. It accompanied me faithfully through two years living in Ubud, crafting exceptional coffee with fresh-pressed coconut cream each morning, bypassing the dubious villa electrical wiring. It was my steadfast companion after the birth of my three daughters, providing comfort after those long, sleepless nights. From camping adventures to holiday getaways, it has never let me down. Through all of life's ups and downs, this remarkable machine has been my most reliable companion—a true testament to quality and endurance and the awesome coffee I can make. Oh the $$$ I have saved by making better coffee than 95% of Sydney Cafe's. Add a bean grinder and a milk frother and you will need little else in life....
A good solid espresso machine which looks good in the kitchen
I bought my Rok espresso a year ago alongside my first decent grinder. Suddenly I can actually taste the coffee. I get a huge amount of pleasure trying to make the perfect espresso now I can actually taste the difference between one bean and another.
I wasn't the first owner of my Rok presso. Which for me just shows how solidly made they are. With the update add ons I don't think I'd do any better buying a new machine or spending a lot more getting an electric espresso machine. I'm extremely happy with this one.

They use ontrac and I haven't gotten my order or a update I would have gotten the flair off Amazon if I would have known I had to wait a month to get it
Awful customer service
While the GC Espresso is a good brewer, the customer service offered by ROK Coffee is abysmal.
ROK Coffee proudly offer a 15 year warranty on their product, however I have received no response to email or phone messages since requesting a replacement lever arm 2 months ago due to a large crack forming in the metal.
I recommend avoiding this company!
These folks are great
These folks are great. I snapped the handle on my portafilter a couple days back, I got in touch and they sent me a code for a replacement. They even let me upgrade to the naked portafilter for the difference in cost and I pulled my first shot this morning with it. It came out just like the Instagram videos!! But basically they are super responsive, super helpful, great customer service, super fast delivery. I recommend the Rok and their company all day every day.
It’s in landfill
So I’m giving this product a low grade based on it’s very prominent claims that it “lasts you a lifetime” and “won’t end up in landfill”. That’s simply untrue.
First, to say, it’s a very nice looking piece of equipment, and your friends will always be surprised and interested in it. It also makes reasonable coffee *but* it’s incredibly fussy. Slightly too course, you get a cup of brown water. Slightly too fine, only Hercules could get a drop out. And simply buying store bought ‘espresso grind’ doesn’t mean it’ll work. But if you can overcome these problems, you can get a nice coffee, even with a bit of crema.
I’d always been slightly sceptical of the environmental credentials. OK sure, it’s not electric, but you can’t use it without a kettle, so the needs for electricity are basically outsourced. However, i did hope it would last, and in that i was wrong, and frankly the product is mis-sold.
My machine lasted about 4 years. After that it just seemed to get more and more fussy. I couldn’t get a good cup out of it, and so I left it to one side and bought a moka pot - easier, cheaper and genuinely lasts a lifetime.
But at Xmas a few years later, i got a proper grinder, and I thought I would give the Rok another go. However, whatever the grind, all i got was brown water. No pressure at all.
Undeterred i went online and found Rok made a replacement part for £25. So i ordered it. Only when i tried to fit it, did I realise what had gone wrong. I was completely unable to remove the old part - limescale and rust had fused it to the metal exterior. I soaked it for days in all manner of toxic lubricants and descaler. I used a hammer, a screwdriver, everything i could think of. Bits of plastic broke off, but the thing wouldn’t budge at all.
Rok did offer me a refund on the replacement. But the thing itself is now in landfill - the one thing that is supposed to be guaranteed not to happen. Although i possessed it for about 7 years, it really lasted about 4.
Now, you may argue i should have looked into dismantling it earlier and descaling etc. But look at how the machine is sold:
“Our manual espresso coffee machine has no
electric pump or heating element to wear out, requires no descaling or regular maintenance. No wash cycles – just rinse under the tap.”
I’m just not in the habit of taking stuff apart that doesn’t tell me i need to.
So i think they mis-sell their product. I firmly believe an electric espresso machine would have lasted far longer - i guess I’ll now buy one.
So, if you want an elegant machine which impresses people for a while and can make good coffee, get it. But don’t believe the marketing, and don’t buy it as a sustainable option.

I purchased a product worth 191 from your store, and I did not receive the order, and I was not contacted about shipping, what is the reason for the delay ???
Very disappointed
When paying £199 for a manual coffee grinder, I would expect someone to check it actually works before they send it out. The adjustment wheel is just completely stuck and will not move. I'm not convinced that the Espresso Maker I bought from them works as it should do either. Very disappointed.
NEED TO GET HIGHER & HIGHER !!
On the ROK PRO an accessory on technique to raise the cup higher ??
Not serious
Not serious about going his way, my partner was mistaken in ordering on 05/11, I refused the package delivered by colissimo to Paris and he then left for Rok. Since then I am still waiting for the refund !! Rok do not answer my emails.
Very very disappointed.
Maybe just one issue.
It's a 3.9 stars...I think it would be nice, if the grinder came with a lid. Because, every time I use it, the beans jump out of the grinder. Great grinder for espresso. Easy to use (some times it's hard to grind some kind of beans).
good service !!!
even if i had problems with the machine, the service is excellent
thank you
Much love for ROK
I love the GC Rok Presso when paired with the naked portafilter. I'm sure the standard kit is fine, but I find making a nice bed for the grounds and tamping it in the naked portafilter is just much simpler and effective. Cleanup is also much nicer. Great espresso with a luscious crema and a great product when you learn the press. My recommendation is to watch videos where the results are good, plus use the correct temperatures for the grind, and grind fine enough to ensure you get the pressure you need.
Shiping took too long time
Easy and Delicious

There are only 4 stars because I emailed you guys about a possible double purchase, that my bank was showing, but you didn't reply. It's not a problem as only one amount of money was actually taken, but some reassurance would have been nice, especially if I was spending more money. as hopefully I will be doing soon.
