loved it! It was much more than what I expected. Helps developing an appreciation for our bodies, mind, emotions and the world around us. I try to do (cannot always as the stress of the life takes over) the daily exercises Roddy taught, and I generally feel more balanced and happier when I can

Excellent course. Thanks Roddy. I've just finished the two day UOXF B4B course (in person). Roddy is a 5* facilitator and teacher. Great content accompanied by useful meditation practices / reflection tools and questions which are designed to help attendees enjoy life more fully and explore new opportunities for growth. The group were wonderful too and shared parcels of wisdom from their own experiences. Highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed Roddy’s Being for Beginners’ course. It made me realise I wasn’t alone in my struggles with daily life and existence. Roddy led us through six sessions which were both a pleasant experience to take part in on the day, as well as provided long-term ideas and suggestions for future use. Since taking the workshop, I find myself often pausing to breathe in and take a moment.
Roddy is a wonderful individual and human being, and this comes across in the way he conducted the sessions and talked to us! He was a pleasure to listen to, and I am very grateful to have been able to take part in his workshop - truly life-enriching.
Great resources to access afterwards too and /or if you miss a session.
Hope to take future and live workshops with Roddy too.

Very grateful to Oxford university for giving me chance and permission to take time out to do this. In busy lives, can't recommend highly enough this self care with purpose. It's backed up by real understanding and shared with warmth and compassion. I believe these tools will help me carry my responsibilities more lightly.

What I really liked about this was that it included material from a wide range of sources (such as traditions from the East and Africa, neuroscience, mindfulness and others) but without ever pushing any one over the others. It felt like we saw the best of them all, albeit briefly, as well as appreciating how similar they could be. Roddy was always calm, inclusive and caring, allowing people from all sorts of backgrounds and in all sorts of current situations to benefit from the course. It was presented in a relaxed way, but not slow, and had plenty of space for practice during the sessions. There was also bitesize, helpful and structured "homework" to do between sessions, all reinforcing the stated benefits of practice over theory. I have definitely benefitted from this course and I highly recommend it to others.

I did B4B as a weekend non residential course at Wytham Woods. Can highly recommend. If you are wondering whether B4B is for you, then I expect it probably is. It was a lovely weekend in a fantastic setting, which had attracted a good group of people (who did not previously know each other) and the workshops were beautifully judged and provided a really good framework for pausing, reflecting and discussing (and some walking thrown in as a bonus). Thanks to Roddy for all, I really enjoyed it and took away lots to think about.

Great course, well-organised, enjoyable and useful. I liked the mix of theory and practice. Roddy has such a calming and welcoming presence, even though we were on Zoom he was able to make us all feel very present. I highly recommend.

What I love most about Roddy’s unique and effective well-being practices is that they are an amazing way to start off or end the day, but they can also be used anytime throughout, to re-centre the body, mind and emotions. The body scan method has given me so much awareness and provided me with a means by which to alleviate the physical and mental tension that I hadn’t even realized I was carrying. As someone who has tried and failed multiple times with meditation on my own, Roddy’s clear and practical methods actually made me aware that I had been approaching it with the wrong mindset to begin with! His relaxed tone and mannerisms are perfect for the guided meditations he walks his listeners/viewers through. I highly recommend this series to everyone. All it takes is ‘an ounce of practice!’ Thanks so much, Roddy!
