I recorded my podcast for 11 years using Skype and a program callede MP3 Skype Recorder. When Skype went out of business, I was left without a substitute. I recently discovered Riverside and it is MUCH better than Skype. I am most impressed by it's ease of use and the high quality of the recordings. It really has a studio quality to it. I am a very happy customer! The quality of my podcast has increased!

The state of the art program for recording podcasts these days in both audio and video formats. They're constantly upgrading and expanding their functionality, yet, it's still possible for us laypeople to learn the ropes and record the podcasts ourselves. Always ways it could be better, but overall our heartfelt appreciation for the folks at Riverside! They've helped usher in a new era in podcasting!

Great platform, using it constantly for a weekly podcast

I paid £288 for a subscription which was taken. When I went to use Riverside it was showing as being in free trial mode. I asked for a refund and was told I had already had one! I had not. In the meantime I had to set up a monthly subscription so that I could carry on with my interview. I emailed back to the assistant with screenshot showing I had not received a refund for the yearly subscription amount of £288. The next day I received an email saying they cancelled the monthly subscription- which I used to do my interview. So now, they still have £288 of mine, I still have just a free trial plan and my interview is missing!! I am beyond angry and upset

I use Riverside a lot, and it consistently gives me quality and efficiency. What more can one want?

Slow and sluggish platform. Constantly buffering and getting stuck. Magic Clips does align audio and video clips. One person is shown on the video, and the audio is the other person. Not a good use of time and money. Wastes so much time. Crazy waste of time.

Using Riverside gave my podcast a lot of production that was totally out of my league and my budget. Since I've been using Riverside, I have zero complaints about sound, and the new editing tools make it way easier to keep uploading our work.

TERRIBLE customer service-- impossible to get help. They get you with a bunch of gimmicky add-ons, but my newest issue, of the MANY, is that tracks are woven together and impossible to disentangle. Though I've reached out repeatedly, no assistance yet.

Overall, great experience with Riverside. It's not easy to make high-quality recording software that works well in different situations, but I have truly been impressed with Riverside and its attention to small details. The recording experience, audio and visual quality, and studio setup are second to none. Best listening experience for your listeners and highly worth the small investment into creating a world-class podcast.

Riverside has disrupted my brand new Shure MV7+/MVX2U connection to my computer. I have spent a dozen hours uninstalling, re-installing, checking for hardware and software updates, checking cabling, rebooting. Now my mic cannot be detected using MS Word dictation, Powerpoint, Riverside or any other software. Apparently this is a known issue based upon internet search. The software locks the mic on mute, but the settings don't show it set on mute. Trying to get rid of it. Spent 8 hours trying to fix, still broken. Very frustrated. Tried this based upon recommendation by Pat Flynn.

I put out two podcasts per week, and I use Riverside all the time. I've read some of the other reviews, and I don't understand it because Riverside's already always been 100% stable for me. Every single time it's worked, it's worked for whoever I'm interviewing. If I'm interviewing somebody, it creates these great little magic clips, which are like reels that I can put out.

Occasionally, the interface can be a little bit slow, but I also know it's doing a lot with video, so I can wait three to five seconds here and there. I'm on a Windows PC using Chrome, and it's always been stable. It's mostly been really responsive, with a little bit of sluggishness, but I also understand video can do that. I give it a really great two thumbs up, and I will be using it for a long time.

We ended up spending $20,000 to produce 15 YouTube videos with this service. After a year and a half, we found that it was too much for what we need. We tried working with the company to downgrade to a more suitable plan for our small business, but they were unwilling to work with us. Their contract has absolutely no “out” clause, so they can strong-arm you into staying.

In a year, we’ve had 3 different account managers. Perhaps the way they treat customers who have spent quite a large sum of money with them, is also how they treat their team internally.

We CANNOT recommend them.

They continue charging me $300 every year for an app I do not use. I canceled the paid plan, and the app itself shows that I am on the free plan, yet the charges keep going through. I also do not receive cancellation confirmations, receipts, or any transaction records, which makes it extremely difficult to dispute these charges properly.

Last year, when I requested a refund, they claimed they could not locate the transaction. This year, I am only getting automated bot responses saying they cannot refund me. At this point, I am already out $900 because of this merchant.

This has been an ongoing and deeply frustrating issue. If my most recent dispute is not resolved, I will seriously consider closing my Amex card because I should not have to keep dealing with unauthorized recurring charges that the merchant refuses to properly address.

Never works. The software keeps crashing. No matter what issue you have and contact the live support, they just go with "we will continue this correspondance on mail from now on". Then it takes 2-3 business days before even getting an answer. Probably the worst podcast recording service out there. Go with another platform. I have been using this platform for half a year now since I paid for a full year which i deeply regret.

I’ve always received excellent service from Riverside. Whenever I’ve had a question or run into an issue, their team responds promptly and takes the time to guide me through the solution step by step. Every agent is genuinely helpful, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble for them.

Ive been using Riverside for over a year and I have found it intuitive to learn and really stable as a platform. The tools are excellent which makes it easy for anyone to host an interview based podcast, regardless of your background. You don't need to be a techy wizard.
I had to contact support once for something and they responded very quickly and solved the problem immediately. Top marks.

I've been using Riverside for about 8 months. Everything was working great until February as I could record podcast episodes, but could not edit them like before. This has delayed my podcast going out for season two as there is now no way to edit my episodes due to their editing system no longer working. The worst part is that no one on their team could find solutions and they kept adding more and more people to the email thread which made the entire customer service experience chaotic. I asked for a refund several times for an entire month, and they did not agree to a refund until I had my male personal assistant reach out, and suddenly the refund could be provided. I'm very disappointed in the lack of solutions for the editing, their refusal to provide a refund until a man was involved, and the chaotic customer service experience.

Buggy platform, lots of 404 errors when working, very difficult to edit clips. I'd look elsewhere if you're looking for a recording software, as this one isn't it.

Feels like AGI already.

The automatic transcript, highlights of the interview, the fact that you can modify the audio by modifying the transcript directly... Everytime I use Riverside I have think to myself "wow, this is what AI feels like".
