They are the worst company I've ever dealt with. Cameras don't work. Refusing to replace faulty camera

Ring focuses far more on slick advertising and making money than on producing a genuinely good security product.
While the battery-powered doorbells and cameras may be convenient for many households, the picture quality is poor. Do not expect to be able to clearly identify any perpetrators from the footage.
Notifications are also unreliable, with frequent delays reaching your phone — particularly when you’re not at home, which rather defeats the purpose of a security system.
If you are looking for a robust CCTV or home security solution, Ring is simply not the right choice.
To make matters worse, the UK helpline number listed on the app and website does not work. I have reported this directly to Ring, and they have done nothing to resolve it.
When I did speak to ring representative regarding issues, they could not resolve the issue & said they would escalate this to a senior member of the team, who would contact me in 48-72 hours. Presumably, this was just to get me off the phone, as no one ever got in touch.
Finally, the doorbell cameras themselves are easily prised off by hand. Although Ring advertises a “one free replacement” policy, this only applies if the device was purchased directly from ring.com. This is not made clear and contradicts what a basic Google search suggests about purchases from Amazon (who own Ring).
Overall, very disappointing.
This camera will NOT protect your property
These cameras are only to be used on a summer day.. if there is rain or snow this camera will not protect your property as you cannot see anything except blur.
Ring doorbell 3
Ring doorbell 3. I bought this a couple of years ago, didn’t realise that it was faulty from the day I purchased it, until a relative informed me that the battery should last for months. Mine was lasting 4 days! So much so, I had purchased a spare battery to allow me to keep the doorbell operating! I explained all this to Ring. They offered me a 30% discount on a new one! Now purchased another make and cancelled my Ring subscription!! Now replaced it with Tapo doorbell which not only has built in storage facility, the battery lasts more than a month!
Poor customer service
We changed our router, and the email, name and number on my ring account was all addressed to me and yet it saying I am not the owner of the account. I called customer service for help and to see if I can change ownership, we tried all emails possible and when we finally did, she asked consent for ‘original’ owner to transfer ownership, which was all okay. After the lady told me that I need to get the ‘owners’ device and delete accounts there. I asked if she could do anything about this as I do not have access to their device and said that is not how it works. Asked her what’s the point of me calling her if she cannot access after all the consent she had asked and we still had to do it ourselves anyway. Found customer service useless.
Worst than bad
Worst than bad, chime on phone is activated about TEN MINUTES after the doorbell has been rung, or sometimes even longer, rubbish rubbish rubbish
The ring system has gone down in…
The ring system has gone down in November, December & January. Rang the customer service 3 times phone just went dead...finally on the 4th attempt they answered.
They gave me no introduction as to who they are and just said hello (seriously!).
I asked them if I could have a refund for the 3 months for 3 ring cameras & a ring doorbell due to nothing working. But they could only refund my subscription, so I'm done all of my plans cancelled and when the ring devices break outright.
I will replace with alternative devices what an absolute joke!
AVOID at all costs
Ordered a new gen ring pro as mine had died after 2 years. Package arrived with chime but no camera in the box.
Following discussion with customer services, nothing they can do and I have to wait a further 48 hours until can do anything..... just incase a second parcel gets sent- noted on box 1/1 parcel so clearly not going to happen.
They couldn't give a shit you are £250 out of pocket and zero cares in the world. will return if I get it and take my business elsewhere.
Customer service is awful
Put this as 5star just because there’s so many 1 star I thought you might look at a good one the customer service is terrible I tried to explain they are a security company and they have had my camera over a month so I don’t have security but that fell on deaf ears since the camera failed we have spent over 6 hours of pointless call and received so many promises they are owned by Amazon who have the camera in stock but Ring can’t supply the camera in the correct colour
RING ARE A JOKE AND HAVE NO COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT SO JUST BANG YOUR HEAD AGAINST A WALL ITS AS GOOD AS THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have the new ring doorbell 2 as my old one stopped working, whenever I charge it, you have to take the whole thing off, which leaves me with no bell or camera, but the main issue is,every time I put the bell back on, within a day or so, its hanging off from the top, absolute pathetic design, don't buy one
Try an alternative brand or go for a genuine security system installation
Unfortunately you cannot upload images to include in the review, if you could then you'd never purchase a Ring doorbell or camera. The poor picture quality has to be seen to be believed. I was installing CCTV in the 80's/90's that was lightyears beyond Ring's garbage. As soon as the temp drops in the colder months you can't see anything other than fog. I've had it on the enhanced settings for over a year and it doesn't make any difference during the Winter. Expensive subscription charges for kit that's not fit for purpose. Try an alternative or get a genuine security system installed.

Utter garbage product never works the delay can be from 5 mins to 30 mins to get a notification
Poor CS and account creation is not user friendly
Bought one of the well advertised super drooper systems, 30 day period of utilising the app has lapsed and lve found trying to renew the subscription has been a total nightmare, lve never been asked for so many verification codes so many times in the past 20 minutes.
Total waste of my time, l gave up . A word to warn for wanna be customers . C S is poor as is trying to create an account.
Rating
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (if possible, 0 stars)
I am extremely disappointed with Ring. My chime alerts has not been working “Unavailable” for months, and one of my back cameras does not work at all. Despite this being an ongoing issue, it has never been resolved.
I have contacted Ring customer service twice, spent time explaining the same problem over and over, and yet nothing has been fixed. No proper follow-up, no solution, just wasted time.
For a company that markets itself as a reliable home security system, this level of performance and support is unacceptable. A security system that doesn’t alert you or work properly defeats the entire purpose.
I would not recommend Ring to anyone. Poor reliability, poor customer service, and no accountability. If I could give zero stars, I would.
I love the doorbellcamera quality and…
I love the doorbellcamera quality and function, but after my free trial and starting my payment for further access, Ring makes problems by sending stupid emails saying I cant get further access due to payments are not UPDATET.. And I try to reach them to confirm that it is all correct with the right cardnumber and bankid from the start. Not possible to reach them...To tell them that their own system obviously is making incorrect problems, not the customer. Hopeless system.
Diabolical
I would give it a zero if I could. Ring is the worst company I’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with. I purchased a Ring video cam in error, should have been a door bell. When I contacted them to return it I was told my email address was incorrect and they were unable to change it (in this day and age…really!), as a result they won’t send me a return label. I was on the phone for almost 2.5 hours trying to rectify this but to no avail. In the end I didn’t receive a return label and I’m £50 out of pocket. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone!
RING SUPER EXPENSIVE
Once you have paid around £120 for your super door camera, within a few weeks the Door Camera is completely useless unless you agree to RING monthly expensive subscription which adds the cost of the super door camera. A super door camera which will cost you hundreds of pounds just to know someone is at your door. RING is a massive CON..do not fall for it like I did. Now I have a useless door camera because I will not pay their monthly charges..its a scam camera.
No subscription no ring
We didn't renew our ring subscription this year, and ever since then the ring will not work.
We had a low battery notification, swapped for a fully charged battery but now the camera refuses to work... Perhap it's a coincidence that we didn't renew our subscription this year ..that the ring camera has gone down.
£49 a year subscription is now too much.
Or is it a small price to pay to keep it working?
Sadly we now need to buy a whole new CCTV set up.
Theft policy not followed
I originally had good things to say about Ring - when our doorbell stopped working because of a hardware problem, Ring pretty efficiently replaced it with an upgraded model.
However, when we had this replacement stolen recently, Ring refused to replace it. They haven’t explained why, so I am left to suspect the reasons why:
- Their theft policy outlines that you can only receive one replacement for a stolen device
- The stolen Ring has to be ordered from the Ring website directly
So the loophole used is either that they have already replaced one Ring (not because it was stolen, but because it was replaced under warranty), or the original Ring doorbell wasn’t ordered from the website (it was ordered from Amazon however, who own Ring). Either way, this feels like petty reasoning considering our hands are tied in either situation.
We provided everything requested, from the police report through to the original invoice. An explanation of why the request was denied would have been helpful, but either way, this is very poor service.
