PLEASE READ THIS TO THE END, IT WILL SAVE YOU LOTS OF TROUBLE AND MONEY

I think it’s worth sharing my experience before anyone considers buying from this dealer.

I hope Graham also reads this so he understands the impact his actions had on me at the time.

I was 17 and had saved up for months to buy my first motorbike. I arrived at RightGear, was polite and excited, but didn’t feel I was taken seriously. Any question I asked about the bike was met with “it says online” rather than being answered directly. I still went ahead and bought it, as I had been looking forward to it for a long time and, being young, probably didn’t question things as much as I should have.

I paid for the bike at the shop and, as per the advert, understood that delivery to London would be free. However, when the bike was delivered, I was asked to pay an additional £50. When I questioned this, I received multiple calls which I experienced as threatening and intimidating, including statements that he would “ruin me” and that taking me to court would be easy. I felt pressured into handing over the cash.

The following day, my mother called to ask why I had been required to pay the extra amount. During that call, the conversation became hostile and upsetting. He used abusive language towards her, including calling her a “stupid b****” and saying she should be “ashamed of having a son like me”, which we both found extremely distressing.

I reported the matter to the police at the time, but was advised that it would likely need to be pursued as a civil matter. As a 17-year-old, that wasn’t something I felt able to take forward.

Within 7 days of having the motorbike, it made a sudden popping sound and the engine began experiencing problems. When I tried to contact him again, I felt I was met with the same aggressive tone and my concerns weren’t addressed.

A few weeks later, while riding on a high-speed road, the engine cut out suddenly, putting me in a very dangerous situation where I was nearly hit by another vehicle. After that, I didn’t feel safe riding it at all and ended up scrapping it.

It’s been almost 4 years and I still think about this. Not just because of the money, but because of how I was treated - being 17, spoken to like that, and put in a position where I felt completely out of my depth.

Make your own decision, but based on my experience I would not go anywhere near this dealer again.

RightGear was the RightChoice for my 2018 ZX10R

Brilliant, Friendly, Affordable, and Caring. I will be recommending and using RightGear Motorcycles for all the above reasons. I tried them for the 1st time 2 weeks ago. I wanted a Bridgestone S22 rear tyre; the earliest I could arrive was 4.30 pm. Graham was a star, he quoted a great price and went out of his way to squeeze me in on his busy schedule. Fantastic!!!
I also mentioned that I wanted new front brake pads. Told Graham what I usually use and he suggested an alternative that was better and less money. Today they fitted a new front tyre and brake pads and while I was there I enquired about an oil and filter change. And they will be doing that next. Everyone working there was friendly and made me very welcome and Graham made the time to answer all my questions. Thanks to you all and see you soon.

Can't recommend Right Gear enough!!

Right Gear are an amazing team of people! I bought my bike there and always take mine and my daughter's bikes there to be serviced or fixed. They are so knowledgeable and helpful, not to mention honest about everything. Thank you for all you do for us, Graham, Amy and the team!!

Rude and disrespectful owner!!

Rude and disrespectful owner!!! I have purchased a brand new bike and a helmet was included in the price, as a free gift. Upon delivery of bike, there was no helmet however the owner said that he forgot to take it and it will be posted to be delivered on the next day. On the following day, I have called to find out if it was sent as being excited to try my bike and the same gentleman answered the phone, to be told that first there is no helmet included. When I have mentioned that I want to return the bike as under any circumstances I will not accept to be lied in my face, the same gentleman started being rude and sarcastic, at the end to say that "if I wanted so badly to come and collect it myself (about 1h driving each way) or it will be posted to be delivered at some point next week". I felt very disappointed and found the owner very rude and unprofessional. So I went to pick it up myself...however, the experience was poor and there was no need for rudeness or shouting! At the end of the day... I'm not the first highlighting such unprofessional behaviour! Still have 2 years of warranty with the manufacturer but will be moving my business somewhere else where I may be treated with more respect.

This review is at least in keeping with how you parked your car, blocking our neighbours into / out of flats opposite. Usually people take the free helmet at time of placing the order. We don't like to carry helmets in van as easily damaged. Simply forgot to bring the helmet and we are subjected to your abuse, shouting and swearing. You were calmly asked to calm down but that just seemed to make your behaviour worse. We offered to send you the helmet out same day but if you needed it, come collect it? You then wanted to return the bike, for not having the free helmet delivered same time. Next time, I suggest you are less aggressive ! People tend to be much more helpful when you are not shouting at them

Been trying to get hold of this dealer…

Been trying to get hold of this dealer for nearly a week about a repair. I have left numerous messages as well as sent an online contact form but have received no communication back. Even with the intervention of the manufacturer still no comeback. Not sure if it's because I didn't buy my bike from them, they can't be bothered or something else.

On looking at the reviews I see that this is a common occurrence.

What a great motorbike shop

Have seen the other reviews and can only think that the people who gave bad reviews are the professional moaners and whiners!

I cannot fault Graham and his team of merry men & woman! They are all full of knowledge and willing to pass it on in a very friendly and welcoming manner. Nothing seems to phase them. After trying for nearly a year to find somebody who could sell me a scooter and do the neccessary adapations (I am a disabled scooter rider), I stumbled across Rightgear, after talking to them on the phone, I went down to see them in Iver (not local to where I live), after looking around for a little while I was approached by Graham and we started chatting and I explained what I thought I needed and he then said that he could do it abd looked into different ways of doing the mods. He gave me a rough estimate and then we came home (the estimate was a lot lower than what I thought it would be), so we went back the next week bought the Apollo scooter and within a week the scooter had all the mods done and they delivered it to my house. Had a couple of hiccups with the mods, but they came and collected the scooter fixed it and delivered it back to me FOC (fantastic customer service).
Have since been back to them to get the scooter serviced, had to wait around whilst the scooter was being serviced, but this wasn't a problem as Graham and his team, plus other customer were extremely chatty and made the time pass by very quickly. The place is extremely busy, so if you are phoning, just keep trying.
Too all you whiners and moaners, as another reviewer mentioned, treat people with courtesy and respect and Graham will treat you the same way you treat him and his ever helpful team.

They are a joke!

No one picks up the phone at all and they take much longer then they say

Bike came back with an oil leak also oil all over the back wheel after they lube the chain and even when you tell them they block your phone number instead of putting things right. The funny thing as well is then you say anything bad about your experience with them online they love to threaten lawsuits of slander.
They sould be shut down!

Great, really helpful fast delivery.

New to biking. Graham and Connor were really helpful. Went down bought bike and it was delivered, taxed and registered next day.
Very helpful when I was being stupid and took time to work out what I was doing wrong!!!! Lexmoto responded to an email asking where the manual pdf was online , immediately (again me not seeing what is infront of my face - homeschooling has taken its toll!!) it’s in downloads on your page when you register it on website!!
Nice experience.

Just Purchased a 2021 lex moto Lxr

Just Purchased a 2021 lex moto Lxr for my son.
I had the pleasure of dealing with Graham the owner.
Graham was pleasure to deal with it's a very busy shop lots going on but he still made time to speak with me.
The bike was great and my son fell in love with it.
We purchased the bike but they were too busy to fit the alarm and were instructed to return later in the week for fitting.
We returned yesterday and the alarm was fitted they also replaced a side pannel and rear number plate that were scratched.
This was done with no hassle or debate.
I own my own company and know the importance of customer service.
Whilst I was there he had a difficult customer there and this was handled in a very professional manner.
Graham apears to be very much like myself a mirror treat him with hostility and that's what you will receive back.
I treated him with courtesy and respect and that is how we were treated in return.
I have seen some bad reviews on this site and totally belive if he was rude to you it would have been a reflection of how hostile they may have been towards him.
Great service great products keep up the good work.
Pleasure parting with my money.

What utter rubbish. Your behaviour was so aggressive even a lady passing by told you to stop being so aggressive. Have saved the cctv footage of your crazy behaviour for anybody to view. You were asked to calm down repeatedly. You were told we could get a particular model in for you before Christmas. Thats not the same as being told it was physically in the shop. Now you choose to leave a damaging review. You don't need a leaner bike, you need to learn to control your temper.

Professional service…

I have had nothing but professional service with this shop.
I’ve had my triumph serviced last year with no issues and a professional service. Unfortunately I had an accident and the bike was written off.
I now have a Yamaha 600cc diversion, I had my bike in and out with a complete service, plus new tyres and a MOT within 2 days. Graham dropped it to my home late afternoon after I got home from work for free.
I was more than pleased with the cost of the service/new tyres fitted and old ones disposed off plus an MOT.
I would recommend this shop for repairs/service.

I tried, I really did. Poor service. Busy not a good enough excuse.

I tried, I really did, to get my Lexmoto Viper looked at here. I've had 4 days wasted trying to get them to collect my bike. More than happy to pay for it, every day I called, twice promised a call back to arrange, chased for 4 days and kept being told different days to collect, morning this, afternoon that.

I get that it's busy, but that's no excuse for poor service over so many days. My advice, stay clear of here, as the owner "Graham" immediately had an attitude when I dared to comment I had been trying to get my bike worked on here and wasn't getting anywhere.

It shouldn't be this hard guys. Why not just arrange a date/time later in the week if you are busy, rather than saying we will try tomorrow morning, oh yeah sorry we will try tomorrow afternoon. I would happily have paid for your time. Poor service.

I own a business, I get its difficult in a pandemic. But your customer service need to improve.

Have also passed my comments on to lexmoto directly.

EDIT : in response to their response, I’m not trying to be rude or expect anything more than the normal. They should have informed me of what to expect rather than saying each day they could collect. I waited in twice assuming they were coming and rearranged work.

Jonathan, you asked us to collect your bike to work on it. To drive there and back its over 2 hours. Our shop is very busy and you were told we would collect your bike as soon as we could. You kept phoning and being told the same thing. When you called today I said I was collecting it this evening but you were very rude, expecting us to drop everything and collect it immediately. You then promised to leave a bad review.

We work hard to get get bikes turned around quickly and efficiently for people at a great price. Not sure that taking 3 days to collect a bike from 1st request is bad service. Usual is closer to 2 weeks!Just another abuse of the review system

Was a absolute pleasure to deal with…

Was a absolute pleasure to deal with Graham, brought (ordered) my new bike from them was told how long the order would be which was spot on.
For a reasonable charge they delivered it to me at a time which suited me (due to me working nights).

Tbh I never leave reviews but seeing some negative feedback on here I wanted to reassure people that I found this company to be knowledgeable and professional while dealing with me.
Occasionally I phoned them and left a message to check the progress of my bike and they returned my call.
I was able to check the progress of delivery on the day via a live text message.

When I got the bike Graham explained the features and even offered 60% off on future purchases in his shop.
So big thank you for helping me kick off my new riding adventures.

Called up to get a quote on tyre…

Called up to get a quote on tyre replacement. Was quoted a price and told that I would get a call back when tyre will be in stock. No calls for a few days, so traced it up and was told “yeah we got your number, will call you back” Still no call, so traced it up again few days later. Same thing. And it is has been ages now and no contact. It is obvious that they realised the price they quoted on the phone was low and probably wanted to get out of doing the job as it wasn’t worth their time and money. Poor management.
Will be avoiding this place from now on.

Not poor management just crazy busy. Covid means a huge number of people want to repair old bikes or buy new ones meaning we are working 14 hour days due to the demand.

I have no understanding of why you would leave this review but am assuming you found a shop to change tyre already....

But be assured we stand by our quotes and tyre will have already been in waiting for you.

The worls is crazy and us, same as most shops are struggling to get stock. Lexmoto dealers should only sell in their own area, although some sell further afield but then can't offer their customers the service they should get.

You are too far from us for us to offer you service level we wish. So we could not sell you our very last Lexmoto 125 scooter for next month.

Just another example of people abusing the review system. Trustpilot you really need to get on top of this.

Amazing !!

Right gear is a amazing bike shop they have been nothing but helpful going above and beyond for me from fitting heated grips on a sub zero morning to fixing punctured tyres on the spot to get you back on the road. With great customer service and very competitive prices for services I would never go anywhere else. Highly recommend for all your motorbike needs !
