Great company, has always been my GO TO…
This company has always been my GO TO for meats, or really anything they sell❗️That's because when Dad first started making the century old wood, cutting boards, there was a problem with one that I bought and they shipped me another right away as the first one was being shipped back to them. I bought 3 of them because they are keepsakes❗️You just can't find a better chopping block❗️Meats are superb as well‼️

Packaged well and frozen
I was happy to get our package and to see how well packed it was with the insulation and dry ice. Everything came extremely cold. So far the meat has been great. I would cut the steaks a hair thicker though :)

Good flavor but horrible value
Good flavor but horrible value on the NY Strips. My second shipment of 10oz steaks ($25 per steak) once again came way under once you cut off the massive fat portion. These three steaks weighed 6.8, 8.0, and 8.8oz. So just for me the cost per dinner was $37. Stick to the primal ground beef which is fantastic and avoid the other cuts.

As I mentioned before, as noted on the paper we placed inside your box, as well as our website, we do ask to reach out to us with photos anytime there is an issue so that we can properly resolve a potential problem. As stated on our website regarding the steaks:

We try our hardest for consistency but these are part of the challenges of raising animals regeneratively and not conventionally. Conventional beef will almost always fit into a perfect mold each time, same size, shape, consistency, but for us that is nearly impossible. Each beef we deliver is grass fed and finished from the day it’s born to when it is harvested and this sometimes creates inconsistent sizes in the primal cuts amongst animals and may occasionally affect appearance, weight and thickness of individual steak cuts. But we do encourage reaching out to us with photos so that we can get a better understanding of what you received. It’s the only way we can understand if we sent something that we shouldn’t have. It’s also important so we can address it with our processor. Again, I’m very sorry about that Brandon. We truly do appreciate the support for our small family farms and regenerative agriculture. 🙏🏻

Our 90/10 blend is very lean, and because our beef is 100% grass fed and grass finished, its flavor and texture can differ from beef that is grass fed and finished on grain. It can also overcook easily, so using a gentler heat cooking slow and watching the cooking time closely can help keep it tender and juicy. You might be happier with our 80/20 blend.
Regarding your steaks, grass finished steaks do have their challenges when cooking the perfect steak. Since we don’t feed any grain, consistency is difficult. It’s extremely difficult to make every beef finish exactly the same each time and it will vary from beef to beef due to genetic differences or seasonal differences in grass species they are grazing at the time. So although it’s the healthiest way to eat beef, and even though you may have had grass finished beef before, one grass finished beef may not always be as tender as the next. One way that can help maximize the tenderness of our steaks is by following our prep and cooking tips. Do NOT order from this company. I added additional food to my order to hit the “free shipping” threshold that the order process was pushing. I was still charged for shipping and when I contacted the company to correct this, they told me that shipping is expensive so they have to charge despite the “free” offer advertised. I politely asked to therefore cancel the order (much of which I didn’t originally want and was just added to earn free shipping). They told me they would cancel but would charge a not-insignificant fee to do so. I fear what else is wrong here - this is not a trustworthy business.i seriously doubt a company that is this dishonest in their marketing and sales is not also dishonest about food quality and origin. Too many good options to take a risk with this company. Stay away.

Hi Hoyt, as stated in our previous emails, while we do offer free shipping for orders over $175, the $14.95 you’re seeing is a surcharge fee. Like we mentioned before, because UPS and FedEx significantly raised our rates in certain areas, including yours, we had to make a decision to either stop shipping to those areas altogether, or continue giving our customers that option that are still interested. But in order to continue, we had no choice but to add a surcharge fee to those areas. I’m really sorry about that. So that customers are not surprised by this charge, we have it clearly stated at the top of our website, our FAQ section and also at checkout before submitting the final payment. When you asked us to cancel your order because of the surcharge fee, we explained to you that our payment processor charges us this cancellation fee for the processing of the original payment and for cancelling. We also have this stated on our website as well. We actually take pride in running our business with honesty and integrity and we’re very sorry you feel that way. We truly do appreciate you giving us a try and wish you the very best. 🙏🏻

First time ordering from Rep…
First time ordering from Rep Provisions. The order came quickly and was packed well. However, I was disappointed in the size of the NT strips. It says it was 10 oz but was more like 7 oz. There’s also a large fat strip on the cut of strip. I also cooked the ribeye for myself. Both pieces of meat were tough. I expected more since I thought this was prime meats. I haven’t tried any of the other meats in the box but if it’s anything like the strip or ribeye unfortunately I will not be purchasing again. I always like supporting small businesses, but I can get better quality meats at a little higher price at our local Son of a Butcher shop in Birmingham.

We were overall pleased with what we received. One of the filets honestly didn’t look like a filet but we trust that it is. Our only real complaint is that two of the packages have had a hole in them somewhere because when thawing blood leaked out everywhere. Now I thaw the meat in a bowl as a precaution.

Inside each box, we include a paper called “Good Things to Know” with important information about your products when they arrive. One of the things we explain is that the packaging can become brittle from the extreme cold and develop small holes as the frozen products move against each other during transit. For this reason, we recommend placing a plate underneath the meat while thawing to catch any leaks. We’re very sorry for the mess this caused! We support small family owned processors who hand cut our steaks, so there can be some variation in shape and appearance.
