Be careful - we booked with Ryanair and this is who we got!

We booked a rental car through Ryanair. This is the horrific company they apparently use. Despite putting the arrival time into the booking, no-one was present when we arrived to collect the car. It is not possible to contact this company by phone. After waiting 30 minutes someone arrived. We were made to pay a 20 EUR out of hours collection charge (5.30pm on a Saturday).
When dropping off the car no-one was present again.
We left the key in a post-box on the door, which does not feel safe!
We received collection documents a few hours later stating damages to the car and 50EUR of cleaning fees. The document is not very easy to understand but it suggests we are not receiving our deposit back. There is no breakdown for the costs of the damages.
An absolute sham of a company. We're hoping Ryanair will help but are not optimistic

Unfair Practices

We should have read these reviews. Please if you read these reviews take further action and review on Google for each location. It will help people stop using this company. We are a church(they are stealing from God because these are not our funds) and they have stolen money in making false accusation of no gas in the car and that it was not clean. 800zl later.
The man drops off the car that seats seven there are seven of us waiting for the rental and then he demands we drive him to the train station??what kind of a business is this. We send them an email and they lie. It's our word against theirs. Don't do it. We work for the Americans here that are protecting this country. We will tell everyone of them do not rent from Rentis.

Avoid Rentis - They will scam you

Worst experience I've ever had with a business, let alone a rental car company. As everyone below has experienced, their office was empty when I arrived at the agreed vehicle collection time and they made us wait for hours before arriving.
However, much worse is their scam "cleaning fee", which I have never experienced from any other rental company. When we returned the vehicle it was perfectly clean and they made me sign a tablet with no information on what was being signed. As this felt risky I asked them to confirm there would be no further fees, which they confirmed as the vehicle was in great condition. However, weeks later (like everyone else) we received an email requesting cleaning fees for an unreasonable amount. This is in Polish and looks like a junk email so was missed. Within another few weeks a Polish debt collection agency is chasing us aggressively for the fees. On querying this they show pictures that there is a small amount of dirt on the floor (where you place your feet...outrageous). Clearly they try to charge everyone to lightly clean their cars between rentals and they will pursue you aggressively until you pay.
Avoid at all costs - it's not worth it!

Please avoid this company!!

Please avoid this company; it has been the worst experience I have encountered in years. To begin with, they charge for basic cleaning of the car, which I initially disputed, but ultimately accepted and paid the fee. Since then, they have continued to harass me regarding the payment, and I am now receiving emails from a lawyer demanding that I settle my debt.

I attempted to explain that returning the car in the same condition means that nothing is missing, scratched, or broken. In my experience, most car rental companies wash and clean their vehicles, and I understand if there is excessive dirt or if I spilled something that requires cleaning and additional fee.

Additionally, the staff primarily speaks Polish, which is not an issue in itself, but it is unreasonable to expect customers to know everything if they cannot communicate the need for washing and vacuuming the car before return. The service was very slow, and I will never rent from them again. I strongly advise others to avoid this company as well, unless you want to deal with harassment from lawyers three months after your rental for a fee you have already paid.

Don't rent here!

Couldn't find the driver to get the car AND to bring it back. Now they are trying to get money from me about an "unclean" car. For interior AND exterior. All communication is in polish and goes straight to junk.

Don't rent a car at Rentis

Waiting 2 hours to have the car despite our reservation at a certain hours (waiting under the sun in a parking...). At the end Rentis charged us the cost of washing the car but nobody told us about this extra charge (also when we return the car, the guy told us that the car was ok). Trust me, do not rent a car from these people.

Bad!

When we booked the trip from Wroclaw Airport it said the pick up and drop off of the car is at the airport. When we arrived no one was there and we had to call and wait an hour between the advisors hanging up and the driver finally coming. The driver told us we have to go to a petrol station and do paperwork there and on the way back too. This sounds very dodgy and was never mentioned. We would not recommend. Also on the way back leaving the car at the petrol station they said they’ve missed some charges last time which is strange and the driver was also late again to pick the car up.

Avoid at all costs

Do not use this company they are a shambles, we landed at 11:50 and waited 2 hours for them to arrive with my son who is disabled and my two other children just sat waiting in Wroclaw airport

I have been charged a penalty fee for…

I have been charged a penalty fee for "returning the car dirty" even though I visited a car wash 30 minutes earlier. Yes, it was raining that day, but the car wash I chose was about 500 meters from the airport. I filed an official complaint and attached the bill from the car wash but it wasn't enough to avoid the fee. Apart from that I felt that their agents tried to squeeze from me an extra penny every time I met them. To avoid.

Poor experience renting a car from…

Poor experience renting a car from Rentis Warsaw Modlin Airport. There was an hour long delay upon the pick up of the car, which was not ideal as I was travelling with a baby. The car was given to me in not the cleanest condition. Additionally, I didn't notice that the fuel tank was only 6/8th full and the screen wiper fluid was empty (of course the T&Cs state that the tank should be full upon returning the car). When I complained to the company about lack of wiper fluid, I was told it was my responsibility to fill it up. Upon returning the car I was asked to give it back "clean" as there was a tight turn around (2 hours!) prior to the next client receiving the car. I never made a mess in it, however all rental companies I ever used in the past would have cleaned cars between clients themselves.

I'll start to share my opinion about…

I'll start to share my opinion about this company from the people who drop off and pick up the car after renting. They were nice and professional,nothing to complain about.Unpleasant surprise during an inspection after renting because there was a little damage, but of course it doesn't affect my opinion - it's damaged and you have to pay. Small tiny damage to the bumper but the price was surprisingly high, but again nothing wrong with this all rental companies do this, they charge you that much as they can and I will be surprised if this one will be different 🙂. However, the cooperation after returning the car surprised me very negatively. To obtain compensation for that damage from my insurer, I need the documentation required by my insurer. Despite asking twice to send me what I need the answer was silence,nothing just silence.Ignorance is one of the worst human traits, but at the level of customer service it is simply unacceptable, that's why I rate this company that bad.

Horrible

Horrible. Waited for an hour, but driver didn't show up. Had to call their support line and they forwarded me to the driver delivering the car. He said he's running late and that he'll need to take me to a petrol station to take the final payment for the car. I cancelled immediately, as this was never mentioned when making the booking, and it is generally unsafe.

This rental agency was much better previously. Not recommended now.

My rental was 3 weeks in Sep. 2023, for a full size SUV in Krakow. It was difficult to connect with Rentis office as calls went to automated machine that didn't work properly (it was not responding to selections being made on the phone's keyboard & I tried calling from 3 different phones, including land line). After walking to their off airport office I found it closed, as the only agent on duty was helping other customers with their cars - this suggest insufficient staffing levels. The car I've got was a mid-size SUV at best but the agent insisted that this was their full size (for comparison I rented full size SUV with another company in Oct. 2023 and got a bigger car). When returning the car, parking at their location in Krakow (very busy Orlen gas station) is very difficult as they have no dedicated parking spots. I was more lucky with their answering machine, but got connected to an office in Warsaw, where the agent wasn't very helpful and at some point became rude after thinking that I was another customer who called him a couple of minutes earlier... The overall experience used to be much better when rented last year & before, as it was the local life agents picking up the phone instead of the now centralized office in Warsaw, where the agents are not very pleasant (once you're lucky enough to get through their faulty automated answering machine). Not recommended.

Avoid this company

Avoid avoid avoid. They scam you on returning the car by sending a bill for cleaning a few days after return. The price is not what they say it is.
We returned a very clean car considering it is mid autumn with dreadful weather in Poland. We were not warned either that the car had to be returned fully valeted to avoid being charged. Dreadful code of practice from Rentis. I have never experienced such deceit from a hirecar company before. Never again will my family and I use them.

Neglected car, absolute no care

Neglected car, no care, lying is standard operating procedure. Bad from the beginning to the end.
1. Nobody was at the airport at the time of car collection (Szczecin airport)
2. I kept calling the rental company for 20 minutes. Some calls weren’t answered and others were rejected. The call from the different number was answered immediately. When I challenged the person from Rentis why nobody answered my calls and where is the driver the person said that they had wrong number on their system and that the driver is at the airport.
Wrong phone number = LIE No 1. I’ve been calling them, so they just needed to pick up the phone. I received 2 phone calls from Rentis, so they had the correct phone number.
Driver at the airport = LIE No 2 – the driver just arrived while I was on the call, he was late.
3. When the driver was challenged why he was late he said that there was a problem with the car.
4. Dirty car. The driver claimed that the car was cleaned in the morning. No it wasn’t – LIE No 3 – there were big chunks of dust and dirt on seats. They offered cleaning service as a compensation.
5. Air-con was blowing just little bit colder air – not sufficient for 9 seater in hot weather with sunshine. OK when the weather got colder and it was cloudy. Rental company claimed that AC was checked and it’s OK. No, it should be recharged as it was hardly cooling the car.
6. Unsafe to drive - dirty windscreen from inside. The windscreen was extremely dirty from inside reducing the visibility when driving against the sun. I had to slow down and stop at the first petrol station to clean the windscreen.
7. Error msg popping up “… top up the oil …” Contacted the rental company according to them it was computer failure.
8. Low windscreen wash msg appeared on the day 2. Should I laugh or cry?
9. Unsafe to drive during the rain - water was smeared across the windscreen reducing the visibility. I stopped at the first petrol station and cleaned the windscreen and wipers. Properly cleaned at the apartment afterwards.
10. Company rep was ONE HOUR LATE to collect the car. I received the confirmation email with the collection time and I had a phone call on the last day confirming the exact time. I arrived to the airport and nobody was there. When I called the rental company the representative claimed that they had different time on their system what is LIE No 4. The correct collection time was set when I booked the rental, it was confirmed during the collection and was confirmed 2x on the last day.

I’ve raised a complain for first 7 points on the second day and they offered me 10% discount for the next rental. I will NEVER RENT a car from Rentis again. At least person collecting the car apologised on the behalf of the company. These things shouldn’t happen. Take care of customers, communicate, take care of cars or close down.
