Everything went really well
Everything went really well - good price, good communication, good experience. The only issue was that air condition didn't provide cool air but we agreed on acceptable solution with the owner so no issue after all.

I rented a car from Vilsonp and I would not recommend it to anyone.
First of all, I chose this company because it stated that card payment was accepted. However, when I arrived, I was told I could only pay in cash.
Another issue was that I paid for full insurance, but the car I received was in very poor condition. First, one of the front headlights was not working. I was told it was just a sensor issue and that the light was actually working — but it was not. Driving at night was nearly impossible.
The car also had completely worn-out tires. Our safety was put at risk because one tire was so worn down that after driving for a while it became half-flat, and another tire on the same side had clearly been repaired before and had a bulge in it. We only realized how terrible the condition of the tires was after putting on the spare tire.
The interior of the car was not very clean either, especially around the mirror area.
I honestly don’t understand the point of paying for full insurance if the car is still being filmed and inspected for every little thing to check whether you damaged it.
We ended up paying out of our own pocket to replace two tires on their car and had our vacation disrupted because of it.
We do not recommend this platform or renting a car from here. Customer support was completely useless, just like the full insurance. Save your money.

As mentioned in our previous conversations, we have been in touch with you through several messages regarding this case. With the support of the Rent From Locals team, we also carried out a detailed review with the car provider and carefully examined the evidence shared by both sides.
From the information and materials provided, the only point we were able to clearly verify was that one of the tires became damaged during the trip and was later repaired/replaced. We understand that you believe the tire issue existed before the rental started. However, based on the available evidence and considering that the vehicle had already been driven for many kilometers before the issue occurred, we were unfortunately unable to conclusively confirm that the tire was already damaged at pickup.
We also want to clarify that the full insurance package selected for the booking does not include tire damage coverage, which is why the provider did not approve reimbursement for this expense.
We completely understand your disappointment and frustration, especially as it affected your holiday experience. However, given the evidence available to us, we are not in a position to pressure the provider into offering additional compensation in this case.
We still appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving both our platform and the standards we expect from providers working with us. We genuinely wish you a much smoother and more enjoyable travel experience in the future.

Thanks to their app I had the best car rental experience ever! Though it has some minor bugs, it creates a great marketplace where you can pick your preferred car from local businesses and private owners, and , interestingly, even request and evaluate offers having specified your needs. I got tens of offers in a few minutes for a last second rental! And had an amazing stress-free experience with the offer I accepted. If only all car rentals around the world worked like this…

Very bad experience - unreliable rental owner
The car was ok but was lacking window cleaner. Bough it but was not refunded eventhoug i left the car with more fuel than expected. I gave the deposit in euros and they wanted to give it back in lek which i refused. I met 2 different men so they always said they were not the boss and could not take any decision. I had the impression to deal with albanese mafia! Very bad experience. The rating of that car rental owner was excellent but not for me.

We discussed the case with the car provider. Please note that, as with most car rental companies, unused or excess fuel is normally not refundable. We also understand that you requested a partial refund for returning the car one day earlier, halfway through the reservation. Unfortunately, early returns are generally not refundable either, since the vehicle had already been blocked and reserved for your booking well in advance.
Regarding the deposit currency, the owner informed us that they in the end managed to convert it in eur.
We nevertheless regret that the communication and overall experience left you with a negative impression. While we fully respect your opinion, we do feel that a 1-star review may be somewhat harsh considering that the car itself met expectations and that the provider complied with the agreed rental conditions.
