I had a very bad experience with…

I had a very bad experience with Rentlite, managed by Simone Spiga. I found a property to rent in Slough 74 elliman avenue SL2 5BG and booked a viewing through him. The house looked perfect, and he asked me to pay:
• £400 holding deposit
• £1,300 to complete the deposit
• £1,700 rent in advance

After transferring the full amount, Simone Spiga completely disappeared and started ignoring my messages and calls. I never received the keys or the property.

This was a scam, and I want to warn others to be extremely careful. Please avoid dealing with this person/agency to protect yourself from losing money like I did.

Beware of Scammer!

Beware of Scammer!
I recently attempted to book an Airbnb for a longer stay and came across one of Simone's properties. At first, it seemed like a great deal. However, as I was about to finalize the booking, some of the dates I wanted suddenly became unavailable.

When I messaged Simone to clarify, he claimed to have another property next door that was under refurbishment but would be ready soon. He offered me a "special deal" and asked for a £500 holding deposit to reserve it. This felt suspicious, so I decided to do some research.

To my shock, I discovered that Simone is a known scammer! His poor spelling and grammar in messages were also red flags, which made the situation even more concerning.

Be cautious and always do your due diligence when booking accommodations online.

Scammer, raised with Fraud action and the Police

Beware of this so called "estate agent" Simone Spiga, director of Rent Lite who signed a contract with me on a property which he did not have permission to rent out. When I questioned him on this and asked him to refund my almost £3000 deposit, he told me to visit his office to clarify the situation. When I arrived at the address provided by him they did not have his company or his name registered at this address. He then ignored all my messages and did not refund me. The fact that his English writing is very poor, full of gramatical errors and unprofessional was enough of a warning sign which I unfortunately ignored at the time. He does not live in the UK so unfortunately UK authorities cannot arrest him, he is based in Italy. His strategy involves contacting landlords on Gumtree finding out when viewings are happening and then sending prospective tenants to the landlords viewing. He would never attend the viewing himself.
