poor communication

i applied for an apprenticeship through remit training, and it was going smooth, good communication until i got an interview date over text, which was a Wednesday at 12, however this was not the case as by the time it was Wednesday i found out i was given the wrong date and when i called up multiple times, asking if another interview could be scheduled they brushed me off saying they will contact me with an update, but that never happened

Unprofessional, Unresponsive, and a Waste of Time

I applied for several apprenticeships through Remit Training and had a very poor experience. I would rarely hear back, and any follow-up emails I sent were ignored. The only way to get an answer was by calling, but even then, I was fobbed off and forgotten by multiple members of staff.

When I spoke to HR staff from companies I managed to secure interviews with outside of Remit, I was told that Remit were known for being poor at representing their candidates, or not supplying good candidates at all. One manager at MAN Trucks even mentioned they had to move on from Remit as a recruitment partner because of how unreliable the service was.

The one interview I did manage to get via Remit turned out to be a dead end — after weeks of silence, ignored emails, and chasing by phone, I finally found out the company refused to hire any of the candidates Remit had put forward.

Overall, the experience was extremely frustrating, unprofessional, and unhelpful. I would not recommend Remit Training to anyone seriously looking for an apprenticeship.

Dissapointing

Would be 1 star, but their recruitment side was brilliant! Worked with Pearce on the recruitment who found us a gem of an apprentice, understood the type of person we needed, kept us updated, personable and helpful.

Then it went downhill... the apprenticeship was poorly run with 0 training provided in-person and being solely based online. Our apprentice's 1-2-1 sessions were box ticking exercises and checking portfolio, but no marketing was taught. Group sessions did not happen due to others dropping out. Afer reaching out to Remit for help we were given a reason as to why everything was not their fault. "Networking sessions" were promised to make up for the lack of learner interaction but never happened.

Highly reccommend not working with Remit.

Paisley…

I got my apprenticeship through Paisley and I can commend her more if I tried! She is absolutely fantastic, very flexible with meeting times, guides you through all the procedures and is so kind and helpful through it all. I can’t recommend enough and I hope that more and more people have the privilege of having her as an agent in the future!

With Remit Training I have had an incredible experience, and I specifically want to highlight Paisley, who played a pivotal role in helping me secure my dream apprenticeship in IT sales. I’ve known Paisley for a long time, and throughout our journey together, she never gave up on helping me find the right role. Recruitment can be challenging, but Paisley consistently showed kindness, care, and unwavering support. She always kept me updated and informed during every step of the application process. Paisley is truly exceptional at what she does, and I can’t thank her enough for everything she has done for me.

I met Lee Goodall at the apprenticeship fair in Leeds. After a conversation with him he gave me his details and i passed mine over to him. After this he passed me over to his Colleague Lois Sharland who was a massive help to me. Lois was very supportive and talked me through the whole process keeping me updated at all stages. She made sure that i felt confident going into my interview and made sure to ring me as soon as it was over to see how it went. I am very grateful for her support and the communication she had with me and would highly recommend her and the company.

Ava was my recruitment person and was very good at getting information across and organising interviews and calls with the company. However sometimes things felt like they took a lot longer than they should and it felt as if I was at times asking a lot of times for information.

They don't seem to know what they're doing.

Done a 2 year course for with Remit, over the course of these 2 years they love to switch up the curriculum mid way through multiple times, tell you what needs to be done to pass homework wise just to tell you that it no longer needs to be done a few months before your final exam, and then suddenly give you a month's worth of work a week before your final exam. Teachers also do nothing about kids reckless driving and behaviour in and out of class in and out of the premises. The lack of communication for upcoming blocks is also awful along with the fact that they refuse to do anything about the people they book hotels with. They also don't seem to communicate with one another that well either considering talking to one of their mobile mentors will give you one story and they will refute it or change it completely. Only upside is some of the teachers here are aware of this and try to make up for all these problems and to them I respect them for it. Otherwise I would strongly advise against working with or for this company.

Avoid working for this company

This company are awful to work for. How on earth they managed to get an outstanding Ofsted grade is beyond me. The curriculum content is shocking, the staff are unprofessional, don't set a good standard for the apprentices and when you try and implement higher standards, they penalise you for it. Apprentices are constantly complaining, employers are kept in the dark, and the first time pass rate for Remit is awfully low. They are all about getting bums on seats, and show no care over the quality of the training. Have just been awarded platinum status for investors in people, which is an absolute joke. They don't invest in their staff, and it appears that the owner of Remit is best friends with the inspector for investors in people. Hmmmm, nothing suspicious there. This is a classic case of having the wrong person owning the business but who knows all the right people to gain their status. An absolutely shambles from top to bottom. As an employer, shocking, as a training provider, shocking. Steer well clear, you'll regret it if you don't. People are disorganised but the company are very good and fluffing up the pillows to make it look all nice, but deep down, it's not.
