Deceptive, Rushed, and Completely Unaccountable – Beware
Do NOT trust Reilly Insurance if you’re a first-time homebuyer. I was referred to them by my loan officer and was rushed into a policy with Goodville Mutual — a company I’d never heard of — without a proper explanation of coverage, exclusions, or what would actually happen if I ever filed a claim. It felt like a predetermined backdoor deal, and we were taken advantage of during a stressful closing process.
Fast-forward a few months: a serious structural issue occurred at my home after nearby excavation work. The damage visibly worsened after the work started. We filed a claim, expecting to be protected — and that’s where everything fell apart.
Goodville denied the claim, relying on a hired engineer who performed NO testing — just a visual walkthrough. No vibration analysis. No crack propagation measurement. No soil impact evaluation.
They refused to release the claims adjuster’s internal findings — only handing over the engineer’s sanitized report after we demanded it multiple times.
Reilly Insurance? Instead of advocating for us or holding the insurer accountable, they deflected everything, took zero responsibility, and became defensive. The agent even responded to my well-documented complaint with a dismissive one-liner: “Thanks for the feedback.” That’s what they consider “client service.”
Let me be clear: this entire situation has exposed a disgraceful lack of integrity, transparency, and basic professionalism from both Reilly Insurance and Goodville Mutual. Reilly’s agent claimed “all PA policies are the same” — a lazy excuse to ignore accountability for pushing a weak policy that fell apart the moment we needed it.
The worst part? This could have been avoided. We asked questions. We trusted professionals. And they fast-tracked us into a policy that served their interests — not ours.
I will never work with Reilly Insurance again. I will never recommend them. We're also escalating to the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, BBB, and other regulatory bodies.
