Don't underestimwte the value of a life coach!
Becoming an adult was the most difficult thing I had to do. I did not receive proper training growing up in school or at home. My parents and my teachers knew that something was off about me, but they didn't know how to help me beat the needs I had.
When I became an adult, I was not prepared for all the responsibilities that came with it. I had very little guidance. I was often misunderstood and my struggles were often belittled. I was fired from multiple jobs for not being able to keep up with the demands placed on me. I found myself homeless for many years.
Many people would look at me and say that I wasn't trying to improve my life, that I wanted to remain in the predicament I was in, that I was lazy and unmotivated. Little did they know just how much energy it took to put one foot in front of the other and try again.
Once I started working with Rebekah Josann a life coach who specializes in working with neurodivergent people, for the first time, I felt like my struggles were validated. She understood that life is more difficult for people like me and that I was putting in great effort to living and working through my difficulties. I felt understood without condemnation. Meeting with her motivated me and gave me the courage to sign a lease for the first time in my life at 39 years old.
