QB cannot complete "Owner" switch

Our non-profit company does accounting consulting work for another non-profit company. We setup the QB account for the company etc. The person who set it up left our company, but they were the Owner of the QB account. We contacted QB to switch the owner to another company contact and they wouldn't do it. They needed articles of incorporation, drivers licenses, and face-id for the apps. After many many attemps and many hours, they bounce you to different dept within QB, but won't let you speak with someone with any authority. We have 5 years of accounting in this particular account and we are completely cutoff from it. They stopped billing us and cutoff access to this account until we re-establish the account, but they can't figure it out internally leaving us in limbo with Year-End lingering. We had to call the past employee and he was providing us the security codes off his texts, but security emails were going to a different person. It is an impossible situation because they don't have access to the data. Very frustrating and total incompetence internally from QB. This may be the last time my company uses QB for any customers and we will warn customers and future customers of this situation.

These people are scammers, I had to report them to the IRS, they wanted me to make changes to Federal Issued tax forms to be reported at the 1040. They stole $856 total from me, including refund and payment to file. SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very disappointed with QuickBooks…

I am very disappointed with QuickBooks online customer service. Last year I was the victim of a hacker attack, and even after many calls, no one from QuickBooks got back to me to explain how this could have happened. Now I have a deposit that has been held for over a month and no one is resolving how I can release my funds. I waited for more than 3 hours for a specialist who could help me release my funds, and they hung up. So I called from another phone and have been waiting for 2 hours and 43 minutes with no one answering. Honestly, I will look for another alternative to manage my transactions because I no longer trust in QuickBooks.

I wish I didn’t have to give any stars. I have had Intuit for 2 + years. When I was no longer using it and cancelled, they were still taking money out of my account. I always take a screenshot when I cancel a subscription. I sent that to them and they did not care. They still would not refund the amounts that were still being deducted. Their excuse, I was past the 60 day money back guarantee. I cancelled and you still took money out of my account for months until I caught it. I’m a small business owner. Who recommended Intuit to others. Not anymore. I’m sure they didn’t need my money to be successful.

The current day Robin Hood!

I’m genuinely shocked at how much this company has increased its prices. When I started with my current employer in 2018, the monthly fee was £30. It has now risen to £67.20 — more than double.

Over the same period, general costs such as utilities, rent and wages have certainly increased, but nowhere near this level. A rise of 124% feels excessive and very difficult to justify.

Long-standing customers deserve more transparency around pricing and a fairer approach to increases.

Unbelievably horrible customer service

Unbelievably horrible customer service. Did the one year trial for QB online. Tried multiple times before the renewal date of January 31 and glitched every time.
They then tried to charge my card for $3,400 and it was declined. Multiple calls and 2-3 hours of time wasted with reps who said they couldn't downgrade without paying the $3400 first. Some reps whose English was so bad, i couldn't understand a damn thing they said. After exhausting explanation to them that
I DON'T WANT YOUR $3400 PLAN, AND I'M NOT GOING TO PAY FOR IT.
JUST VOID THE CHARGE AND DOWNGRADE TO THE $38/MONTH PLAN!
Nope. Not a single effort made to keep me on. So I'm switching to Patriot software.

They stole money that I had rightfully earned. They claimed they would hold my funds for 90 days to let my customer have the chance to receive a refund should they wish to even though I made clear that the customer would not file a dispute at all. I would recommend using another payment processor because quickbooks is not it.

Quickbooks customer support is the WORST imaginable

Quickbooks customer support is the worst imaginable. We have been trying for more than a DECADE to get them to acknowledge and change information about our company and the primary contact information. They literally have a dead employee's email as the primary email address, with a different employee's name attached to it.

Worst online accounting software award…

Worst online accounting software award goes to QBO. I have never seen such bad product from such prestigious company. It is beginning of downfall for Intuit. QBO is too slow, its reports presentation is not good. Its system to import transactions is not good. Many times duplicate transactions are imported in the system. QBO has thousands of disadvantages compared to other online accounting software.

Refund Debaucle

I signed up online. Saw immediately this wasn't for me. Put in for a refund and had fifty circles to jump through only to call several days later and hear that they never got my refund request! I saved the receipt though, so they had to refund me, or so they say. We will see. Awful headache from start to finish.

Woeful accounting software.

Please, please, please do not be fooled into getting involved with Quickbooks online. The lag between pressing an on screen button and something actually happening is anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds. This is totally unworkable and an embarassment when you are trying to sort a transaction in front of a customer. The problem is where do you go. I have heard that Xero is just as bad. As usual clueless MP's and civil servants have pushed us into a place that is a nightmare whilst complaining that we are not productive enough and they should be paid to stay at home.

Constant problems with over billing on…

Constant problems with over billing on same type of licenses. Tried to correct many times, however, charges are still on my credit card and have no idea why. License was paid all at one time. Wait times to take care of issues is excessive and still not resolved. Sent emails to resolve but not quick to answer.

Gets worse, charges more, go elsewhere

Have stupidly been a customer of this awful software for over a decade.

Regularly lags 10-20 seconds on a single form input, so things that should take seconds eat up vast swathes of your time. Lot of use it is typing 80wpm when quickbooks stalls constantly!

The price increase since 2025 is approx 250%. We started at £16 a month and it's now nearly £40. Inflation only accounts for approx 40%, so investors are probably having great fun.

The lag is very much their servers- I can watch multiple 4k videos without issues elsewhere but God forbid Quickbooks accepts an entry of 4 characters without making you twiddle thumbs.

Honestly look elsewhere, there is better software with better support for less money.

All year long 25 & 2026 this is the worst app I ever worked with…

It is the worst app I ever worked with before I used at remodeling/construction Company I worked for it (on the computer only) the app was bad with the invoice every time I recorded a payment the app added an expense not a payment credit for my client. Quickbooks App made tons of mistakes and it never got better I should receive all my money back from this horrible company this app never saves a single receipts I scanned. I should not give this app a 2nd chance Their AI shitty software developers can’t do a job right. All they want is collect money from customers & business owners, don’t purchase this app

The worst experience of my life , been with quickbooks since 2006 , they have done nothing but raise prices over the years , then talk me into quickbooks online, I would have rather been shoot in the foot , this company has made my life a living disaster , can't wait until this quarter is over so I can find something different, I would stay as far away from quickbooks as possible ,This from someone who never leaves reviews

I didn't love my desktop QuickBooks but I miss it now.

I didn't love my desktop QuickBooks, but it was a Mercedes compared to the garbage that is QuickBooks online. I now pay over $300/month to get less than the version I paid for once. The layout doesn't make any sense like the QuickBooks Desktop did. Online, It doesn't do basic things like autosave before it times you out or ask you if you want to increase item costs, as you enter an invoice. Support is also horrible. One lady admitted that she had never used it, so you have to pay extra for people who know the program as well. I've even stumped them.
